How ****ed up is this? POTUS is actively trying to make it difficult for votes in a federal election to be counted. And his supporters cheer him on, not self-aware enough to realize this is anti-American.

Did I hear something that USPS had almost 9 billion dollar surplus until Bush signed a law that USPS had to have 75 years of health insurance paid up front?

So, what you're telling me is that you want Trump to unilaterally move money to the Post Office? Now that's funny. Every time Trump tries to move money around he gets yelled at for violating the Constitution...now its ok? Hmm....

And no, Trump can't just "move Republicans into providing more funding". He could ask sure, but he doesn't order them around. Besides, funding comes from the House. And last I heard Dems control that enough to ignore Republicans. I've seen no clean bill originate from them on this matter. Though they've certainly tried to attach it to other things. Like getting rid of signature checks for mail in ballots. Wonder why'd they'd want to get rid of a security feature.....

And you DEFEND Trump “moving money “ where it suits you and attack it when it doesn’t

And ignore the fact that he could push Moscow Mitch to get an actual deal don

Funding does come from Congress as a whole. The House has already appropriated this funding . The GOP Senate is sitting in it

Has it occurred to you that the bolded may be inaccurate?

And yes, Trump could unilaterally move that money, but he doesn't have to because he can very easily convince Republicans to shore up the USPS - something that they would ordinarily want to do...hell most of the GOP supported mail-in voting and think his war against mail-in voting is idiotic. But by taking such a strong stance against it, they risk political damage to an already fraught election chances by angering him and voting in favor of such.

The ballots would be mailed to the address that is on their active voter registration. If they aren't living there, it would be no different than trying to vote in their old precinct when they were supposed to be voting somewhere else. And yet, you don't seem to have an issue with that.

If the mail in system is so tried and true, why are you afraid of more people using it?

"Go missing" is more than a little deceptive. If I request a mail-in ballot (I'm in Texas) and decide to either vote in person or not vote at all, is that ballot missing?

Where do you people come up with this [deleted]? Trump does not appoint the PMG. The Postmaster General is appointed by the USPS Board of Governors. A member of the board is appointed by the President and confirmed (I believe) by the Senate. They serve for a nine year term. Postal rates are established by the Board of Governors. Thus Trump does not determine Postal Rates. The USPS has not receive Government funds to operate since the Postal Reorganization act was passed.

That's cool Trumps always got a built in out that way huh? Kinda like asking states to open up or schools to open without giving direct steps in how to do it. If it goes wrong he can just entirely shift the blame onto the governors.

Trump appointed all 9 members to the board and Dejoy is the first Postmaster to serve without any postal service experience.

But he was a major contributor to the trump campaign.

Apparently Obama made bad appointments who would not serve out their full term.

Why prevent people who want to vote by mail from voting by mail?

Do masks cure Covid? So I ask again, do you expect infected people to go out and vote because you went out and bought school supplies because you aren't infected?

Not every State has the same rules. Surely you know this.

It amazes me that the cons who are always telling us how important everyone's vote is and how every vote counts are so willing to strip voting away from so many.

the USPS is in cahoots with the commies, they are an extension of the government arm.

it should be privatized once and for all.

USPS does not want the President to win because they will be privatized and lose handouts.

the post master general will cheat and stack votes for democrats.
