Both sides are wrong to politicize the riots instead of taking action on what should be reasonable police reforms, and nothing else, IMO. Police reform should not even be a federal issue, but a state and local issue, but the media exposure of the Floyd death has made it a national topic. I am marginally fine with the federal government banning cities from knee-on-the-neck restraint (which most cities have done already) and with them restricting guaranteed immunity of police officers where the very few truly bad cops were getting away literally with murder.

Senator Tim Scott wrote reform legislation, open to debate and amendments, but Pelosi refused to even discuss it because it came from a black Republican and not from a black Democrat. With no discussion, Democrats called his bill a "token" effort, which sounded awfully racist to Scott and to many on the right, but people are being overly sensitive and overly partisan. Trump's fear mongering is well-matched by Democrat leadership in the House, Senate and even the Democrat nominee for President and his VP pick. That makes both sides wrong.

The country is at a political stalemate which was decades in the making. This unrest did not happen in the last 4 years, since we elected the second "most divisive" president back-to-back.

On average...

One police officer is killed in the line of duty by criminals every day. One black man is killed by police every day (and two to three white or "other" non-black).

There are approximately 800,000 police in America. There are approximately 40,000,000 black people in America.

800,000 police have approximately 5 million interactions with civilians per year. 1,000 people get killed, 2/3rd white, 1/3rd black.

Police are not "hunting" black Americans.

 

Yes we do. I see no positive change (in terms of healing the nation) possible until 2024 at the earliest, no matter who wins 2020.

 

And on a lighter note, "White Hispanic" response on Twitter is still pretty funny.

For those who don't follow much detail, Tariq Nasheed, was involved in the reparations-seeking group ADOS (American Descendants of Slaves) until he and the other original founders had a falling out over strategy and demands. He then founded FBA (Foundational Black Americans) saying that people can belong to both groups, but FBA is not for any black people who are not original American descendants of slaves. So black immigrants after slavery are out.

Anyway, Tariq's Twitter feed is a race-baiting stream, mostly highlighting white criminals and white "hillbillies".

The "White Hispanic" trend started with Tariq, who had to make the officer who shot the L.A. man a "white" thing, by calling the officer a "White Hispanic Race Soldier".

That's the background story on "White Hispanic" in the Twitterverse. People on both sides are roasting Nasheed.

Seriously, whatever "side" you're on, you're likely to find some humor relief by searching "White Hispanic" on Twitter today (if you still have a sense of humor in today's political discord).

The 'blue' perpetrators are hiding and perverting the facts.

The victim was shot at least 20 times which means the first perpetrator's buddies joined the pack for the kill. Cops act like pack animals when the kill-opportunity arises.

Dead victims can't be witnesses.

Gonna have to disagree with your premise there. While I'm more republican than I am democrat, and more conservative than I am liberal, I'm libertarian above and beyond all of the above. And I still want bad guys dealt with using lethal force when they've left law enforcement with no other options.
