White men killed by police don't fit the political narrative that police are targeting black men. Dead white men are boring news and white people will say that most deserved their deaths-by-cop, same as we say about most all police shootings. For nationwide media attention only black lives matter. Dead white men only make a local nightly news mention.

 

Your view is supremely reasonable, just and fair. Wanted to repost it.

 

Whites have been gunned down too. It's wrong either way. If there are white guys getting shot in the same way as these Blacks lately,
please point them out. So far all I see is Black guys getting shot for trying to get away from cops...not for trying to harm cops.
That's what is so disturbing about these stories. What is happening to these cops that makes them react this way?
Even Trump has expressed thoughts on that.

 

Yeah, we only hear about the black men because it's all political propaganda.

John McWhorter and Coleman Hughes have thoroughly researched the statistics and come to the conclusion that there is no explicit racism involved in police shooting of black men, when adjusted for the levels of crime committed by blacks compared to other races.

The public is just buying into a big bucket of media BS malarkey.

You do understand that today's media tells you what they want you to think and believe, so they don't report the entire picture of what's happening, but only a narrow and exaggerated slice of life.

Republican Senator Tim Scott wrote a police reform bill in June and asked Democrats for debate and suggestions for amendments. Pelosi refused to even discuss it in the House. So, the administration is trying to work on reforms if the two sides would sit down at the table and talk.

 

Yep. 32 black men per million black men are killed by police. That's a fairly rare event then, yes?

Good research. Mine is similar. I concur. Over the past six decades, blacks have grown far more criminalistic and violent than whites in general. IMO, this is due to promiscuity, astronomical numbers of out of wedlock births, and the consequential lack of Fathers which have been replaced by taxpayer money via the Democrat welfare apparatus. In other words, and again imo, blacks AREN'T inherently more criminalistic or violent than whites. But have rather been corrupted into that way of life by the unholy union of black Americans with the Democrat party. They have foolishly swapped Fatherhood for money and the public dole. This is why all their markers of dignity and conduct which used to be on par with whites, is now in the gutter in spite of achieving equal rights. So yes they have been robbed in a sense. But by their own choice and hand. It is the cunning of evil. I blame their civil rights leaders, both black and white, who led them to the mountaintop of equal rights, but who stripped or robbed them of dignity and content of character along the way. Over the same decades, Republicans have pleaded and exhorted them in every particular along the way, but to no avail.

 

Being killed by police is rare. Being unarmed and killed by police is almost statistically irrelevant.

55 unarmed men were killed by police in 2019. 14 of them were black men. 25 were white. 11 Hispanic.

Policing (and "police killings" in general) is not the biggest issue facing the country as much as a media distraction from larger problems. We should have passed reasonable reforms and moved on by now.

That isn’t true, the story of Daniel Shaver caused outrage among many. I still follow it for updates.

Of course people are going to be more upset about events that impact their population groups — maybe white people should be acting a little more outraged when events like this happen. I for one, am against police abuse regardless of skin color — everyone should be.

Just in the last few months we have seen officers lie about being poisoned, having “pig” written on their coffee cups, and service denials. There are hundreds of buses with police planing evidence. I am not wasting time to prove to you anything as you will simply ignore it (and much of it is current events) but anyone else that is curious can certainly look these events up.
