What happened in the 2016 election will not happen in the 2020 election

The circumstances surrounding the 2016 election are so peculiar, it is extremely unlikely they will be duplicated.

In 2016, the Democratic Party chose the worst possible candidate. Clinton was unpopular, under FBI investigation, and was lugging around a ton of baggage. Trump still managed to lose the popular vote.

Joe Biden is not a Hillary Clinton.

The Times wrote, "Right now, polls say Joe Biden has a healthy lead over President Trump. But we’ve been here before (cue 2016), and the polls were, frankly, wrong."

    No, they were not!

National polls only measure the popular vote. Clinton did, in fact, win the national popular vote by 2.1 points. The average of the 13 final national polls had Clinton ahead by 3.1 points, which was only a point off the actual result.
One last look: 2016 polls actually got a lot right | TheHill

The election was won by less than 80,000 votes. Axios reports that Trump won Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin by 0.2, 0.7 and 0.8 percentage points, respectively — and by 10,704, 46,765 and 22,177 votes. Those three wins gave him 46 electoral votes; if Clinton had done one point better in each state, she'd have won the electoral vote, too."

Nearly everyone today has forgotten the effect James Comey had on the election. Eleven days before Election Day, FBI Director Comey reopened the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton. Clinton had a substantial lead in the polls, but in the week that followed Comey's announcement her lead quickly evaporated. Two days before the election, Comey issued a "sorry about that" and closed the investigation for lack of anything new.

    It was too late.

The Hill reports, "Exit polling found that late-deciders in Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin broke for Trump by double-digit margins as high as 29 points."

During the election campaign, every voter in the country knew that the FBI was investigating Clinton. The FBI was also investigating the Trump campaign for its alleged cooperation with Russia. Voters were not aware of that investigation until after the election.

These idiots could actually elect Biden but I hope to god it doesn't happen. I can't imagine my country under a Pelosi-Biden-Harris triumvirate.

Another aspect of the strange circumstances surrounding the 2016 election is that a significant number of Democratic voters are solely responsible for Trump's election victory.

Young Sanders supporters were aggrieved that their candidate didn't get the nomination, and, in their anger and disappointment, they managed to elect Trump.

Newsweek reports, "According to the analysis of the 2016 Cooperative Congressional Election Survey, fewer than 80 percent of those who voted for Sanders in the Democratic primary did the same for Clinton when she faced off against Trump a few months later. What's more, 12 percent of those who backed Sanders actually cast a vote for Trump.

"The impact of those votes was significant. In each of the three states that ultimately swung the election for Trump—Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania—Trump's margin of victory over Clinton was smaller than the number of Sanders voters who gave him their vote."

In Wisconsin, 51,000 Sanders supporters voted for Trump. Trump's margin of victory was 22,000.

In Michigan, 47,000 Sanders supporters voted for Trump. Trump's margin of victory was 10,000.

In Pennsylvania, 116,000 Sanders supporters voted for Trump. Trump's margin of victory was 44,000.

The young Sanders devotees bought Trump's con.

Sad to watch Bernie Sanders abandon his revolution. We welcome all voters who want to fix our rigged system and bring back our jobs.

Bernie Sanders voters helped Trump win and here's proof
Bernie Sanders supporters didn't just stay at home, they voted for Donald Trump in significant numbers.

Those young Democrats will vote again in 2020, and no doubt they realize the horrible mistake they made.

They won't make that mistake again.

Here in Florida, the logistics of the election for Republicans is so different from 2016. Republicans have always overwhelmingly won the mail-in vote. But Trump disparaging mail-in voting completely changed the landscape. While Democrats have "found" the convenience of mail-in voting, the number of ballots mailed by Republicans has been tremendously reduced.

So now Republicans find themselves almost completely dependent on turn out on November 3. But our creep of a Governor, expecting election day voting to favor Democrats, reduced the number of voting places, reduced the number of hours, all the "suppress the vote" tactics he could think of. Which is now backfiring.

It used to be that Republicans hoped that it would rain on election day. Now they are praying that it's a sunny day.

And I'm not sure that Republicans will be as patient as Democrats were, to stand in line for hours so they can cast their vote. The age factor could play a role there that would go against Trump.

I see. So, you prefer the Trump-Pence alliance.

A group of former George W. Bush administration and campaign officials have launched a new super PAC to mobilize disaffected Republican voters for Joe Biden. The group, launched under the name "43 Alumni for Biden," "seeks to unite and mobilize a community of historically Republican voters who are dismayed and disappointed by the damage done to our nation by Donald Trump's presidency.

Senator Ben Sasse, Republican of Nebraska, castigated President Trump in a telephone town hall with constituents on Wednesday, accusing the president of bungling the response to the coronavirus pandemic, cozying up to dictators and white supremacists, and offending voters so broadly that he might cause a “Republican blood bath” in the Senate.

“The depths of his dishonesty is just astounding to me. The dishonesty, the transactional nature of every relationship, though it's more pathetic than anything else. He is the most flawed person I have ever met in my life,"
Trump's former White House chief of staff, retired Marine Gen. John Kelly.

Some of Trump's recent remarks would include, "People are tired of hearing Fauci and all these idiots," meaning scientists.

Concerning the pandemic that has killed over 225,000 Americans, Trump criticized Biden for listening to the scientists. "He'll listen to the scientists."

"Fauci is a disaster. If I listened to him, we'd have 500,000 deaths."

Trump is claiming the election, and Thursday's Presidential debate, are rigged against him.

lemmi, you have picked a real winner this time.

And you won't need to. it will be Harris/Bernie/AOC/Omar if Biden wins, with Antifa and BLM enforcing the law of the land of course.

It is going to be the Biden Presidency, not the Pelosi-Biden-Harris triumvirate.

Where did you get that? From Trump? Geez, you still believe what he says? Can you say gullible? Wow!

So you're saying we're going to again be governed by sane mentally functional adults After almost 4 years of Trump/Giuliani/McConnell/Putin/KKK/Proud Boys, I had almost forgotten what that was like. I can hardly wait!

I remember after Trump won people protesting, then the media asking them if they voted in 2016 and most said no.... let's hope that mistake doesn't happen again

Can't wait for these "sane" adults to send $100 billions in cash to Iran, 1,000,000 jobs to China, give 1,000,000 square miles to ISIS and $100 trillions to France to handle climate change.

But they will of course collect their 20 pieces of silver from Russian, Ukrainian and CCP own oligarchs, so their sanity in actually not in doubt.

Biden is a far worse candidate than even Side O Beef because he doesn't have a vagina and wouldn't be "FIRSTWAMMEN!" Moreover HRC, unlike Biden, did not face an incumbent, and incumbent POTUS are harder to unseat.

There is a material difference in 2020, though, and that is that the trademarked Democrat ballot fraud has had over 3 years to gel when they didn't think they'd need that much of it in 2016 based on "muhpolls!" Rest assured they won't make that mistake again, and get ready for some truly spectacular fraud, stuff like 150%-200% of voters in select Philly wards voting, ginormously large Democrat bus chains on election day in select Red polling areas slowing voting to a crawl with multi-hour waits for WORKING GOP voters who didn't get around to pre voting, stuff like that. Sky is the limit and we've seen this before, but will have NEVER seen it like this. It may be worth losing the election just to see how audacious the level of gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-MSM Complex FRAUD emerges.

But rest assured, regardless of the outcome, there is a very large, disgruntled portion of the population (you know the ones who pay most of the taxes that pay for all the graft, welfare and redistribution) who will be doing things in reaction, not violent things, but "F it! I've got 500k in the bank and need to consume less, wasn't going to be suckered for 4 years of Marx Camp for the kids anyway, so to Sleepy City X I go and... get ready for it... STOP PAYING INCOME TAXES." Only takes a few ten million of those 100k-200k earners to simply turn on tune in drop out of the SCAM to make mucho trouble for the Complex. Oh, 5ft tall 80 IQ Juan from Guatemala who speaks only a few words of English despite living here 20 years is gonna step up and fill those places in the tax base? ROFLMFAO. Sure thing, Che.

So, if Democrats can crank up their fraudulent Tammany Hall thuggery, they will probably win. If some courts step in and enforce a limit to the endless recounting and "LOOK 10,000 BALLOTS WE JUST FOUND IN THAT LINCOLN! and THAT FORD..." that the Democrats ALWAYS do, then Trump Landslide.

Sad to say but this election will hinge on how much and how well the Complex can defraud the voters. There is no way in hell Trump will lose a fair election. None, and I've never predicted such in all my many years of following this stuff. So get those fraud ballots BRRRRRRRRing Democrats, better make a bunch!

Or Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn today, who said that his relationship with Trump is "maybe like a lot of women who get married and think they're going to change their spouse, and that doesn't usually work out very well."

So many of them running away from this guy now.

$100 trillion? Think quadrillion! If you're making up nonsense... go high! Only thing you lose is credibility. And you don't have that much left to throw away anyway so... So why not!

I am glad you asked... and inquiring minds deserve to be rewarded with facts:

In February 2019, the center-right American Action Forum, estimated that
the plan could cost between $51–$93 trillion over the next decade.[72] They estimate its potential cost at $600,000 per household.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green...19, the center,cost at $600,000 per household.
