Why are you ignoring the fact that the other 94% also have COVID-19 - the only difference being that (unlike the 6%) they have comordities.

COVID-19 triggers several other conditions that lead to death, responsible for the other 55% of deaths but not shown in this table.

That particular table is focused on pneumonia/influenza only, including cases where COVID-19 is not present, for comparative surveillance purposes.

 

COVID-19 triggers many life-threatening conditions, not just pneumonia. Just under half develop pneumonia - the rest develop other conditions.

 

"Only Covid"?

COVID-19 has no capacity to kill all by itself. What kills you is the medical conditions it triggers, which may or may not include pneumonia.

 

Did you know that cancer is not a cause of death? It's not the cancer that kills you, it is the effect it has on healthy organs that lead to death. So your question is nonsense

I'm explaining that there's no such thing as "only COVID" - or everyone who tested positive would be dead.

COVID-19 causes life-threatening conditions, including pneumonia - it's these changes which kill. And, because these conditions were caused by COVID-19, they are counted as a COVID-19 death.

This is what the number of deaths is made up of - people who died of conditions caused by COVID-19.

For instance: COVID-19 ---> Pneumonia ---> Acute respiratory distress syndrome.

COVID-19 triggers different conditions in different people. It triggers pnemonia in about 45% of fatal cases.

So no, the number is not inflated. It just seems so because you're looking at a chart comparing COVID-19, pneumonia and influenza for general surveillance purposes, many of whom did not have or die from COVID-19, as should be clear from the total number of people in that chart - 329,428.

Obviously it's possible to die of pneumonia without COVID-19, but this would not be counted as a COVID-19 death.

 

Don't see your explanation on how cancer causes death. So back to your nonsense question, "So, what would have killed you? Pneumonia or only COVID?"

 

Dying with Covid is not the same as dying from Covid.

 

If one actually believes no one dies from cancer, that person would not understand the explanation.
