The WPA did not delegate legislative powers to the Executive, it did rather the opposite of that. The AUMF did very much abdicate legislative powers and duties to the Executive. It is the reason we have been in a state of perpetual undeclared war ever since. It was done for the benefit of Israel, as Israel controls the US Congress.
I suppose jarheads will have to do without me telling them about a 2009 study that basically confirms what I’m saying, or the examples of the German police in Munich that have recently gotten people fired over their ties to far right gheohps.
I never found it to be a problem in my units. If someone complained about any kind of discrimination or was creating drama, they were immediately treated like a broken runt and kept on permanent barracks duty because the meritocratic structure of the military was too plain and simple and everyone knew it (not with wooks though). You did your job well and promoted unit cohesion? You were left alone to be as bigoted as you wanted in your free time. You complained about being held back because of some abstract perception of bigotry? You were seen as weak and got hazed (at least some few years ago - now the units dealing with hazing are the ones dealing with NJPs).
That's true! The military, particularly the Army, has a major deficit of graduate students conducting training on how racist the military is.
Best for the country to keep it that way I'd say since graduates of higher-education have the strongest non-neutral racial beliefs of all. This is increasingly evidenced in public opinion data anyway.
So what you’re saying is you created an environment of hostility towards reporting things like racial discrimination and I’m also going to go out on a limb but sexual assault and harassment too? Aww, proof of my point written down. Thanks for ending the thread!
Sure you did. Good job. You proved my point. Thanks. It’s this attitude that terrorists want. It makes it easier to carry out atrocities. Good job.
Just telling it like it is. Maybe some units with nothing to do handled things differently but most of them were able to get along without an NCIS or EO number on speed-dial.
And what if a member of the KKK or some other white aupremacist group set up what you did? Create an atmosphere of intimidation against speaking out and you create the conditions for domestic terrorism. It’s no surprise then to see how the military can breed radicalization. I’m just impressed you managed to prove my point so throughly. Like you don’t even deny the sexual harassment stuff.
What am I supposed to be denying? UCMJ is clear and there is no widespread cover-up like you think. If you don't think so then go enlist or re-up and be the change you want to see. Go lecture the military and teach them not to be like the turrurists.
Same. The USMC typically has less minorities (there's reasons for that that I shouldn't need to explain), but we were still probably 30% minorities when we deployed. Racism was never an issue. In fact, issues were never an issue. You fixed that **** yourself because if someone had to fix it for you, it would be so much worse.
I suppose they will. Nobody gives a **** about your opinion on how German police might be related to the US military, so I don't think they'll be missing much.
Perfect summary of how things used to be (and hopefully, how they still are, at least in combat arms) Thank you.
I doubt it. I enlisted in 2007, and even by the time I was getting out, the corps was dramatically different. Padding under the obstacles. No more hazing. No more harsh punishments. You can't PT anyone for longer than 15 minutes. ROEs completely turned upside down to where we were basically bait for anyone looking to take out their anger. And ironically, when you deploy to a combat zone, your entire deployment is basically a harsh punishment. Days spent awake, little food, no showers. We slept in trucks with three other people, so we slept on top of each other for weeks at a time. Making our troops softer isnt going to prepare them for actual combat. As they say, wish in one hand, **** in the other, see which one fills up first. I can only imagine how soft they are now. The NG in DC look like they do their training at Burger King.
I know man. I got lucky with my DIs and NCOs because they were committed to the oldschool methods, for sure including what you'd see in a movie like FMJ. Even that is tame once you read about the truths of the 60s and 70s. Yeah, the NG in DC looks soft as hell, like some of the recomp platoons you'd see running on Sundays. Must be some great selfies coming out of the Capitol...
The military reflect society and is invariably right wing, it would be unbelievable if there were no such groups. But there will be no mutiny, that is the stuff of fantasy.
what scares me is that the capital threat should have been known, how many of those that prevented it from being protected were doing it to help Trump maybe they thought it was harmless, like just protecting the optics of Trump and his supporters, maybe it was worse, we just do not know
Nobody did, there is no conspiracy here, this was a planned, peaceful protest with a section of the crowd then rioting and storming the capitol, no one could have foreseen it.
those in the crowd ...like moms with body armor, bulletproof vests, weapons, bombs, and lumber for gallows knew it was on
Why wont you give explanation of "The USMC typically has less minorities"? Why would the USMC have any less minorities than Army or Navy?
It's harder, and there's less benefits. Pretty simple. Most minorities choose the army or navy (easier, better benefits), and smart kids typically go Air Force (less military, more summer camp) because it is the easiest, and they've got newer stuff. Marines sleep in the dirt, get old ****, and get yelled at.
