Nah, you can't really trick anyone into joining the Marines... they don't want you if you don't want them. You can get shitbags to join the Army or Navy by promising free college and signing bonuses and all kinds of hi-speed low drag stuff... But people who are in the Marines typically join the Marines because we are elite; there really isn't much else left to promise them. Want a life living in dirt, not showering, eating MREs, and ******** in holes? Sign right up! That said, I'm 32 now and I can almost guarantee I make more money than you, without a college degree, so there's no grumpiness here. It definitely has its perks, and the title of Marine speaks for itself. Like I said, racism wasn't a thing in the Marines. We didn't even talk about it. Everyone made fun of everyone... but when the **** hit the fan (and it did numerous times) none of that **** mattered... because none of that **** matters to anyone else except people looking for an excuse to feel victimized or people looking for a way to spread divisiveness.
But that "team spirit" regardless of race, isn't exclusive to USMC. I've seen the same thing in Army and Navy as well....but it depends on the group and/or the leadership. Morale can be great on one ship and the exact opposite on another...same in the Army. Or the morale in your platoon can be the best ever....until a change in leadership makes it the worst ever. Perhaps the same is true in civilian jobs and society in general... Consider what has happened to this society during four years of tRump.

Well first I heard that all the guard troops are being vetted and had their backgrounds drilled down into before they are allowed guard the inauguration. As for the "white supremacy problem". Good luck. It isn't just a military problem. It is a digital age problem. They used to just be mouthy rednecks running their mouths down at the garage.
