Its insane. Most people are getting a check even though they have not been impacted in any way. How about just help those who have actually been laid off.
Democratic effort for $2,000 Covid checks shot down in Senate despite support from vulnerable Georgia GOP senators https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/co...ounce-support-2-n1252481?cid=eml_nbn_20201229 and: McConnell blocks Senate Democrats' initial attempt to approve $2,000 stimulus checks amid growing pressure on GOP leader to act https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/co...ounce-support-2-n1252481?cid=eml_nbn_20201229 No surprise there.
GOP is expected to oppose Dems across the board, like they did when Obama won. This $2000 handout promoted by Trump and far-left Dems is NOT the normal kind of co-operation. Its borderline absurd/bizarre.
2020 was brutal for airlines. Next year could be even trickier. https://www.nbcnews.com/business/bu...e-even-trickier-n1252436?cid=eml_nbn_20201230 Brutal would be understating it.
McConnell makes it clear: No $2,000 stimulus checks this year https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/co...says-don-t-hold-n1252575?cid=eml_nbn_20201230 No problem !! Only one day left this year. and we can leave this horrible year behind !!)
The stock market is ending 2020 at a record high, even as the coronavirus surges and many go hungry https://www.washingtonpost.com/busi...9.Qmc9S75JXfZMtJHHvoq1n6F6lBiC3rsjfbP2R6vpQ7s a scenario full of contradictions.

Trump Temper tantrum alert...
Many finished the last year high on drugs and booze as they watched their children go hungry. What's the New Year bring? 5 dead in Chicago. 22 car jackings in NY. hmmm
U.S. economy loses 140,000 jobs in final monthly report of Trump presidency https://www.nbcnews.com/business/ec...al-report-trump-n1253439?cid=eml_nbn_20210108
Also believe previous two months were upgraded to +340,000. I drive around here and see signs all over for help. Was taught a long time ago that you have to do what you have to do to survive. I've moved many times in the past to work. It's inconvenient at times but if my family is eating it's worth it. I know not everyone can just pull up stakes and leave but if things are dire I am willing to take any job out of town and send the money home. Some people just have to much pride to take a low paying job. I always had too much pride to ask the government for a handout. Times have changed ,I guess.
Well YOU got that much right But Be Informed People are out of work because there are NO JOBS and you seem to be under the DELUSION That the people out of work in Chicago can go to Texas and find work, and the people in Texas can get a job in Chicago. Oh Yeah- Sure ! Well they tried that 'Riding the Rails' -during the Great Depression - & it didn't work - The jobs are gone permanently. They are not coming back - Shipped off shore by YOUR traitorous Corporations ........................................... with $bought and paid for$ Government Complicity And for YOU Chumps ? - Why a Locked Down Surveillance State, and a Boot on YOUR neck from a Psychopathic Police Force, trained and vetted in, THUGGERY and a brand New Patriot Act ....................................................................................................................... aimed at YOUR Freedom & Liberty - ................. SO Good Luck to Yah Oh Yeah ! ...................... . .
I am closing in on 80 and have lived in good times and bad times. There is only one week after I turned 18 that I didn't have a job. I filed for workmen's comp and never even went and picked up the check. I've lived in the Appalachian's were poverty is a normal way of life and in Detroit during both boom and bust times. I've never been a brainy person and have always had to learn things the hard way. I've worked for below minimum wage many times to put food on the table. When I hit 65 I sat at home for a couple days and went and got a job at Dollar Tree that paid $8 an hour. When I retired I was making $31.00 an hour. I didn't like Dollar Tree and went to work in a major food chain as a produce stocker at $9.00 an hour. Health issues finally caught up with me and I finally quit this year. If a person really wants a job they are out there. Now I sit around and diddle in the stock market. I'm still not up to making what I was making but with a little luck and education I hope to reach that goal this year. Sitting around the house feeling sorry for myself never put food on the table, bitching and complaining about the unfairness of it all ever put food on the table, going out all day and knocking on doors asking for work has always put food on my table. I just had a pacemaker put in last week and they tell me that I'll be down about 6 weeks. So too some of you don't wait too long because I may be coming for that job that seems to be so elusive.

You can expect those numbers to continue to crater during Joe's tenure. The difference will be that rather than him paying a price, folks like yourself will just continue to blame the B.O.M. and never acknowledge the absolutely HISTORIC numbers Trump put up. Fortunately, millions of us remember and will ignore your ramblings.
BrookingsInstitution. The BLUE states in our country and their 509 counties generate 71% of our nations annual GDP, while the RED states and their 2,547 counties generate only 29 % of our GDP.
The curious thing is that despite the market's numbers, we never hit his goals on GDP growth. Why not?
