Howdy, Now that DJ Trump is no longer President and we can draw the line, what is the aftermath, did he "Make America Great Again"? What say you?
He sure as hell exposed the institutionalized corruption in our system of governance. Without the china bug he would still be President. Before that, things were going just fine, moving up. Now we have a *potus who promised to raise our taxes and "cure" cancer. Guess he needs our taxes for that miracle he has vowed.
I think he would have lost anyway. He was beginning to cost us money and people were noticing that the middle-class tax "cuts" were barely noticeable The only way he "exposed" corruption was by gleefully partaking of it to a greater extent than any President I remember or have even studied
Fear not, the new messiah will "cure cancer"...he told us so. Suddenly, lying is ok. Name Trump's Solyndra equivelant, I'll wait....
No he didn't. But no president can make America great again, way too much changes with her and changes worldwide that preclude that.
I suppose one could argue that he did. If you count... Appointing his kids, their families and cronies to important positions, Charging exorbitant rates at his properties for his security details (while bragging that he donates his salary), Making it okay for racists and/or extremists to come out the woodwork, Completely botching the COVID-19 response leading to close to half a million dead, Acting like he was invincible after contracting COVID and having the best doctors and medical care, Inciting a riot that left 7 people (including 2 police officers) dead and hundreds injured, Not conceding an election so that his base supporters could believe the lie of massive voter fraud, Acting like a petulant child and refusing to follow the traditions of welcoming the new Administration, Continuing to pretend the election was stolen to keep his base riled up, And putting himself first above country, the Constitution and all decency and moral codes as "making America Great Again".
Deutsche Bank Your excusing Trump for killing 500,000 people because he gave us a good stock market would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic "..other than that Ms. Lincoln, how was the play?"
So you think no one would have contracted COVID-19 with or without Trumps involvement? I'm sorry, but that is just absurd. Cuomo's moves did what for the elderly? But of course, that was Trump's fault too, I suppose.... *sarcasm included How did Deutsche Bank cost this country 12 Million?
I voted for Trump twice, and, given the field of candidates we had in 2016 and last year, I'd do the same thing again! But, no, for a variety of reasons, he didn't "make America great again". He actually caused many problems for himself, and he was already having to fight everyone in the radical, America-hating Democrat Party tooth-and-nail, every single damned day of his presidency! And then, along came the virus.... "The Wall", which he swore up and down that Mexico would pay for (but never paid a single peso) was an incomplete flop. His big 'tax-reform' didn't really help many but those who were already rich and enjoying lots of tax loopholes -- which magically survived Trump's big 'reform' effort.... Trump's insistence on bullying the Federal Reserve into crushing interest rates into the dirt badly weakened the U. S. Dollar and wreaked havoc on peoples' savings accounts, while pushing more and more gullible people into a vastly-overvalued 'casino-like' stock market which is likely to blow up in everyone's faces yet. BUT -- he did miraculously manage to get three (THREE) high-quality Justices into the Supreme Court to counter the Leftist-liberal sludge which, along with the mysteriously 'pliable' Chief Justice Roberts, had saddled this country with a totally unconstitutional piece-of-legislative-CRAP like "Obamacare". Poor Trump made enemies where he hadn't had many before, and his REAL enemies among radical Democrats fought him like mad dogs in everything and about everything. End result: Trump made some things better, and he held back the neo-socialist plunge into madness for four years, but his efforts, well-intentioned as they may have been, did not "make America great again".... Really? It looks like NOBODY will, ever again....
No, he did not and it what was obvious he would fail in doing so since day one since he did not stand for anything. Trump was a useless pragmatist. The only thing he achieved was to end the GOP and to show that it is possible for a Third Party-candidate to win an election. That is the positive.
Worst president in US history. He was a con artist, grifter, and downright creepy. How so many millions of Americans bought his line of bovine crap is beyond me. If I were a man of fewer scruples, I would've cashed in on his minion's childish gullibility too.
Lmao, maybe. I am neither an InCel nor a Republican, but I still think she was the best thing about his rule
Trump didn't make American great again. A man like that doesn't make things great. He only soils everything because his true purpose is only to himself. A man who cared about making America great would have never done what Mr. Trump did. Ever. Mike Pence did more as the VP to make America great than Trump ever did or could.
How do you define “going just fine”? Quality of life? National debt? Trust in our institutions? Standing in the world? Educational attainment? Medical advancements? New energy sources?
No, he didn't make America great again, but he did provide two valuable services. 1. He helped slow down the decline, at least for his four years. 2. He exposed a corruption in our institutions that many of us didn't think was possible. So it was a glorious Presidency!
Our 'quality of life' is less than it used to be, and steadily decreasing. So is the average lifespan in the U. S. National debt is a CATASTROPHE! Our national debt-to-GDP ratio has risen to over 107% (hint: the dreaded 'tipping-point' is 77%). Standing in the world? Our adversaries in the world are bolder and more arrogant than ever... make book on the very real possibility that Iran will be in possession of thermonuclear hydrogen weapons five years from now. Oh, and thanks to 'printing' too much IMAGINARY MONEY, our dollar is weak and our interest rates are crushed! The Chinese brag that they will push us aside and take over leadership of the entire world by around 2035.... "Educational attainment" is a JOKE, and it has been in this country for about the last thirty years. Medical advancements have been spectacular! Our survival rates for nearly every kind of cancer have improved dramatically, and today we even have cures for the dreaded hepatitis-c that are 92%-97% effective. Too bad so many Americans are going to develop lymphoma cancer because of tattoo ink, but that will take another ten or twenty years to start REALLY showing up. New energy sources? Until we finally master HYDROGEN FUSION energy production, all we've done is 'piddle around', playing with 'boutique' hobby-class interests, like wind and solar. Another hint: we need to ditch light-water nuclear power plants completely, ASAP, put all our R&D effort into hydrogen fusion reactors, and s-l-o-w-l-y get away from coal and natural gas over the next thirty years. You asked... how'd you like my answers...?
Truth? In my not-so-humble opinion, we've been on a gradual, downhill trajectory ever since Reagan left office. I have written many paragraphs in many posts detailing just how truly GREAT the United States had become during his two terms as our president. Now, we're a nation where half the population truly hates the other half, we're up to our earlobes in national debt, half the population thinks it has to be given free welfare handouts or big government 'subsidies' in order just to survive, and we've degenerated into a badly-educated, largely illiterate population which can barely even speak English intelligently -- let alone THINK rationally and factually about nearly anything!. "Great again"...? Ha! First we need to dig out of this GIGANTIC pile of sh!t that we've piled up for ourselves during the first two decades of the 21st-century....
I voted “sort of” because he had to spend too much of his time beating back the attacks of mad dog leftie. What he managed to do did improve the country. A Gallup poll last year said 56% of Americans said they were better off that they were four years prior. (poll taken before COVID outbreak).
