without foreign student's tuition, expect tuition for american doubles. foreign students pay 2-3 time the cost of american student. once they graduate they have chance to get H1B, high skill workers is highly desirable compareto low skill worker from S.america.

I disagree on this, cause i had quite few ethnic chinese minority as friends back when i was in college. china have about 50 million muslim, over 40,000 mosque vs 2000 in US. The reason Xinjing was in the news now, was back in 2009ish there were riot and some separatism, result in domestic terrorism later on mostly from uyghur, which result in CCP crack down hard in the region .
also been ethnic minority in china actually have advantage over Han ethnic majority, easier to get into school with lower score, higher birth allowed at least back in 90-2010s 2 vs 1 kid from Han majority, etc. it only become issue when they start challenging CCP power, which doesn't matter your are ethnic minority or majority, government will crack down hard on you.
