Well, there is the problem right there. "My house got blown down by a hurricane" is NOT one of the qualifying conditions for asylum, so anyone who says that's why they're here should be turned away at the border and sent on their merry way. That way we don't even have to worry about having enough space to house them all, because 99.9% of them will be turned away in the first place, which is precisely what should have happened.

Huh? Does Rule 6 protect people outside of the forum from criticism?

I'd love to see them replace Hannity and Carlson on Fox, too, along with that whole mob of idiots who stormed the Capitol on the January 6. We need more Americans who value democracy and will fight to protect it rather than fight to overthrow it.

Congratulations for being 4 years older than I am.
Have any of you been to Jamestown?
I have been there and know how it was and still is.
It for the time no doubt was as good as they could make it.
But it is more like camping out than city living.
The location must have been loaded with mosquitos. Today they can control for those.
When i was there, they were excavating to learn more about life there.
Anyway, my family traces to there so it was long before George Washington was born.

Tell us about this violence you wrongly blame on Trump fans?

Democrats load us with laws. So explain how you do not think those are the authoritarians?

America is founded on the Rule of Law.
"The Basic Principles of the American Constitution. Federalism, separation of powers, and rule of law are the heart of the American Constitution. But there are other fundamental principles of the system as well, all of which contribute significantly toward the achievement of liberty, order, and justice."

    What an authoritarian is:
    au·thor·i·tar·i·an
    /əˌTHôrəˈterēən/
    Learn to pronounce

    adjective
    1. favoring or enforcing strict obedience to authority, especially that of the government, at the expense of personal freedom.
"the transition from an authoritarian to a democratic regime"
^^^^^That's the way Trump would like to govern.

Trump is the precise opposite of Authoritarian. I notice you claim he wants to govern that way. Why did he not govern like that?
Authoritarian is also those who dream up thousands of laws for the public to obey. Such as Democrats.

Trump did. He just told you he did not and you (chose to) believe him.

Why are you discussing how a now EX-President would like to govern in a thread about an immigration fiasco that's happening NOW? Even if your hypothesis is 1,000% correct, it's simply not relevant to the topic.

I've already said this, but just so the MY post remains at least somewhat on topic, my opinion of what they should do is to turn away every would-be illegal immigrant from ever crossing the border, unless they possibly have a legit reason (and there are not many of those) to claim asylum. That way, they never even enter country and never become our problem, except for the 5 minutes or so it takes to determine that they have no legit asylum claim, and send them packing. Or even be so kind, as we were for a scant few of them, put them on a free plane ride back to Haiti. And if, as I've heard others exclaim, they haven't lived in Haiti for 10, 12 years or MORE, well that's their problem, they should have become citizens of wherever it was they were living so we could send them back THERE. That is plenty of time to do so. MORE than plenty, even.

I too have lived at a shack that had the outhouse. The Galvanized tub to clean ourselves up. We had Iceboxes long prior to a refrigerator and a wood burning stove to chop wood for.

I have not lived in the concrete silos known as cities but for very brief periods.

I chose not to believe the very controversial reports by the biased media. Trump proved he is no authoritarian.

People or actually Democrats, may believe we are the only country to deny illegals access.
Neil left CA for Hawaii and took his second oldest son with him. At Hawaii they were hired in the only trade Neil knew. Building houses. Well Neil was chased by the IRS so he took Brian with him to New Zealand to work there. NZ run them both out. Then they were at Australia. It ran them out. They flew to Germany. They got run out. They worked in France. It ran them out.

They hop skipped building homes and kept getting run out. Neil now lives in Panama. He has not been run out. But his own children do not like him and do not want anything to do with him. I am the step father and I am closer to his children than he is.
I had a long chat with his oldest son just last evening. He told me his dad is at fault for the poor relations with his own kids.

We owe Haiti nothing at all. They can call on France for help.

Afraid of opinions that differ from yours? Pretty weak sentiment I would think. Neither one of them have anything to do with democracy. They are entertainers that don't entertain you. Get over it.

So where is Harris, she is in charge of this. What is she doing about it? How is she going to stop them from coming here?

When my ancestors came at the end of the 19th century and those who came in the early 20th century if you were impoverished and had no sponsor who would provide for you you were not allowed in. If you were sick and you had no sponsor to take care of you you were given the option of entering the Ellis Island hospital to be treated and you were responsible for paying the cost or you were sent back.

Why don't we do that now?

Dems were willing to work on an immigration bill user Trump in return for DACA, Trump refused

Trump could have done so many things, but his fragile ego got in the way

The Republicans were only repeating what the Democrats were saying and the Republicans were addressing the voters not the immigrants. And they were correct. They were told by Biden, who said during the debates he could see allowing 2,000,000 a year in and were told by ALL the candidates that if they won and then they came here they would get free healthcare and be taken care of.

Harris has found herself in way over her head and she's laying low.

Had Biden finished the wall and the laws on immigration enforced, this problem would be 90% smaller. That's how.

Yep, has she made another trip down to the upper triangle? Has she met with the leaders of those countries to discuss the plans they made at the first one? Has she met with anyone at the State Department about what the plan is? Is she ever going to hold a press conference and give us an update as to any progress?

And they are going to run her for President?
