Wayne County canvassers don’t certify election results in 2-2 vote The Wayne County Board of Canvassers deadlocked Tuesday evening in a 2-2 vote on certifying 867,409 votes cast in the Nov. 3 election, leaving results in the presidential race, as well as local races, unofficial. Board members Monica Palmer and William Hartmann, both Republicans, voted against certifying Wayne County’s results, saying they didn’t believe information recorded in Detroit poll books were accurate enough, referring to unbalanced precinct counts in which the number of votes tabulated did not match the number of voters signed in at the polls. https://www.mlive.com/public-intere...ont-certify-election-results-in-2-2-vote.html Then........... Wayne County Republican canvassers reverse course, vote to certify election results After three hours of being grilled by residents following a controversial vote, the Wayne County Board of Canvassers voted a second time on certifying results in the Nov. 3 election, this time making the vote count official. The board was deadlocked earlier Tuesday evening, voting 2-2 on whether to certify the count of 867,409 ballots cast in the county. Board members Monica Palmer and William Hartmann, both Republicans, initially voted against certifying, saying they didn’t believe information recorded in Detroit poll books were accurate enough, referring to unbalanced precinct counts in which the number of votes tabulated did not match the number of voters signed in at the polls. https://www.mlive.com/public-intere...-course-vote-to-certify-election-results.html Then........ Why are Michigan Republicans quietly replacing key election officials? Michigan Republicans are quietly moving to replace officials on key elections panels in the state with candidates who have embraced conspiracy theories about the last election, a move that could cause significant chaos in the counting of votes in the 2024 election and beyond. Some of the people being nominated have voiced racist ideas and expressed support for the idea that the 2020 election was stolen. Excellent reporting in the Detroit News this week lays out how this is happening. This year, Republicans have nominated new people to serve on boards of canvassers – which play an important role in the machinery of elections – in eight of Michigan’s 11 largest counties. Michigan is a key swing state in US presidential elections and Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump there by more than 154,000 votes in 2020. “It’s very unusual,” Chris Thomas, who served as the state’s election director for decades, told me. “Hardcore activists aren’t necessarily the best people to be in a position that requires, frankly, a little bit of neutrality.” https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...-republicans-election-officials-fight-to-vote Elsewhere........ “God’s will is being thwarted.” Even in solid Republican counties, hard-liners seek more partisan control of elections. HOOD COUNTY — Michele Carew would seem an unlikely target of Donald Trump loyalists who have fixated their fury on the notion that the 2020 election was stolen from the former president. The nonpartisan elections administrator in the staunchly Republican Hood County, just an hour southwest of Fort Worth, oversaw an election in which Trump got some 81% of the vote. It was among the former president’s larger margins of victory in Texas, which also went for him. Yet over the past 10 months, Carew’s work has come under persistent attack from hard-line Republicans. They allege disloyalty and liberal bias at the root of her actions, from the time she denied a reporter with the fervently pro-Trump network One America News entrance to a training that was not open to the public to accusations, disputed by the Texas secretary of state’s office, that she is violating state law by using electronic machines that randomly number ballots. https://www.texastribune.org/2021/10/01/texas-election-official-hood/ And then we have........... Heeding Steve Bannon’s Call, Election Deniers Organize to Seize Control of the GOP — and Reshape America’s Elections When the insurrection failed, Bannon continued his campaign for his former boss by other means. On his “War Room” podcast, which has tens of millions of downloads, Bannon said President Trump lost because the Republican Party sold him out. “This is your call to action,” Bannon said in February, a few weeks after Trump had pardoned him of federal fraud charges. The solution, Bannon announced, was to seize control of the GOP from the bottom up. Listeners should flood into the lowest rung of the party structure: the precincts. “It’s going to be a fight, but this is a fight that must be won, we don’t have an option,” Bannon said on his show in May. “We’re going to take this back village by village … precinct by precinct.” https://www.propublica.org/article/...rol-of-the-gop-and-reshape-americas-elections It is too early to know the extent to which The Following will succeed in taking over control of how state and local election results are processed. But rest assured they have identified one of the failings of Don's attempted coup. Namely, the refusal by almost all election officials.......like Brad Raffensperger........to acquiesce to Trump's demands that the results be de-certified. Writ large, this is about a way to de-stabilize elections. To create doubt, create chaos, create an opening for force to supplant the people's will. The way to do it is the corrupt the apparatus of elections by installing people who are loyal to the candidate, not the people. This is how it starts.
We should not underestimate this power grab and the possible subversion of a representative free vote.
After Bannon’s endorsement, the “precinct strategy” rocketed across far-right media. Viral posts promoting the plan racked up millions of views on pro-Trump websites, talk radio, fringe social networks and message boards, and programs aligned with the QAnon conspiracy theory. Suddenly, people who had never before showed interest in party politics started calling the local GOP headquarters or crowding into county conventions, eager to enlist as precinct officers. They showed up in states Trump won and in states he lost, in deep-red rural areas, in swing-voting suburbs and in populous cities. In Wisconsin, for instance, new GOP recruits are becoming poll workers. County clerks who run elections in the state are required to hire parties’ nominees. The parties once passed on suggesting names, but now hardline Republican county chairs are moving to use those powers. Even as some Repubs on the board continue to ask "what's all the fuss about" elements inside the POT any actively engaged in preparing to steal upcoming elections.
Just racist?? Was homophobic, misogynistic, xenophobic, or white supremacist of the meme just forgotten or wasn't enough time???
@Lee Atwater Yep. They are pursuing this path openly and transparently. It is not to their credit that they are doing so, it is rather to their arrogance that they assume they have destiny on their side and will succeed in the approach and retain power for the US WASP demographic; and of this demographic, at most 1/3 support this approach to a destination of no definition other than "anything's better than this".
I get a kick out of partisan hacks blaming the other side for what their own side does. It is amazingly common.
Do you have anything to say about the dangers presented by Trumpists infesting the former GOP election apparatus? Or the shifting of power away from non-partisan entities handling elections in to the hands of legislators interested only in maintaining power for the POT? 10 new state laws shift power over elections to partisan entities https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/doz...elections-partisan-entities/story?id=79408455 Do you have the courage or wisdom to confront what is happening? I think not.
There is no justification, try as you might, to corrupt or elections under the guise of completely inconsequential instances of fraud among millions of voters happening in support of candidates from both parties.
Do you have any evidence to suggest the reporting on what is happening is factually inaccurate? Is this story factually inaccurate? https://www.texastribune.org/2021/10/01/texas-election-official-hood/ Is this one? Elections administrator in Texas county Trump won resigns after campaign to oust her https://thehill.com/homenews/state-...texas-county-trump-won-resigns-after-campaign Besides abject denial, is there any basis for your dismissal of the facts regarding this matter? Election Officials Under Attack https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/policy-solutions/election-officials-under-attack
If it did Trump's popularity among Repubs would not be so high. A poll conducted by the Benenson Strategy Group found that one in three local election officials are concerned about facing harassment or pressure while on the job and feel unsafe. https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/local-election-officials-survey
they should feel stressed. It’s one of the most important jobs in the country and since THE STEAL I anticipate way more restricted voting thanks to concerned republicans that believe in a fraud free voting system I look forward to more threads from you complaining about these laws I foresee many, MANY more oh and always remember cheating Has Consequences
NO? But there's certainly plenty of justification for investigating the Trump campaign based on lies, innuendo and gossip?
“inconsequential” because it favored your side? Wow! I’m not surprised that you would think this but it is surprising you would admit it on the internet (where it will probably stay forever) yikes!
After there being no evidence of anything other than anecdotal, inconsequential fraud you think election officials who pointed out how well the election went deserve to have their lives threatened?

Indeed. MEDIA, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania man who illegally voted for Donald Trump on behalf of his long-dead mother in last year’s presidential election was sentenced Friday to five years of probation. Besides his probation term, he will not be allowed to vote in an election for four years and is no longer eligible to serve on a jury. https://apnews.com/article/election-2020-government-and-politics-d34effeea6c341d6c44146931127caff
