It has nothing to do with patriotism. It's about what people can AFFORD. I'm sure it's very nice to be in an ivory tower which allows you to choose 'quality' on principle alone, but the majority aren't so privileged.
I talked about DOMESTIC consumption... Read - Understand - Answer In this order please. United States Private Consumption accounted for 68.5 % of its Nominal GDP in Sep 2021, compared with a ratio of 68.7 % in the previous quarter. US Private Consumption contribution to Nominal GDP ratio is updated quarterly, available from Mar 1947 to Sep 2021, with an average share of 63.2 %. https://www.ceicdata.com/en/indicator/united-states/private-consumption--of-nominal-gdp
It must do them some good, since they're volunteering to do it. People who don't want to live that way make it their business to either move somewhere cheaper, or increase the value of their labour. Sometimes both simultaneously, to save time on the road out of poverty.
It's always a bit surreal to see people who claim to be for the little people, try desperately to deny them the jobs that many 'little' people want or need. They are completely ideology-addled. They can't think through the implications of any article of belief, without immediately encountering another article of belief which contradicts and/or cancels out that first one.
PCE is Domestic Consumption. Annualized Nominal GDP in the 3rd Quarter was $23,173.50B @ 68.5% that's $15,873.84B in domestic spending Annualized Nominal GDP in the 2nd Quarter was $22,740.96 @ 68.7% that's $15,623.04B in domestic spending. That's a mere 1.6% spending increase. Yet, you are trying to explain the biggest inflation jump in 30 years on a meager 1.6% increase in domestic spending? Such tepid growth never caused inflation before. For example: Current/PCE Increase/Inflation Rate 3Q21/1.6%/6.24% 3Q19/3.2%/1.77% 3Q18/2.7%/2.53% U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers: All Items in U.S. City Average [CPIAUCSL], retrieved from FRED, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis; https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/CPIAUCSL, November 15, 2021. Inflation is being caused by Democrats Red Ink Spending Orgy, and their foolish policy of paying workers not to produce. Big flipping surprise, now we have shortages and an inflation spiral? Who with a brain expected anything different?
You are obviously JOKING... So, once again, thx for the laughs (and keep them coming)... "Inflation is being caused by Democrats Red Ink Spending Orgy" ^As opposed to Trump's 4 Years of Fiscally Responsible Balanced Budgets...? Give me a break... Good luck with that...
Well DUH, and what is causing those issues? What is the SecTrans and the President doing about it and where is it getting fixed after the SecTrans is back from his 3 month sabbatical and can finally do his job?
They already do. Do you think companies pay people out of the kindness of their hearts? LOL! You are such a sweet kid!
if your only option is to support yourself and or family on a low wage job because you lack an education or marketable skill the problem is with you not the wage get an education learn a skill
Why do people think everyone has choices? Were you told you could do anything you want? It was a lie and if you are over 40 you know that to be true. And not everyone can just pick up and move.
So the majority of Americans choose to screw other Americans because they themselves are getting screwed? Maybe it's time this Catch-22 stops. I hope this pandemic has taught Americans they control what wages are paid by refusing to work for cheap ass companies.
Always. If it inflates the money supply a little, you won't notice it. If it inflates it a lot like this year then you see the result. Demand affects prices, not inflation. Inflation is not the same thing as price increases. It is a devaluation of the currency.
a supply issue, yep, I get that, that is why prices are higher right now so what happens when that distribution problem is solved?
Which begins on OUR SHORES, the problem is not with getting the products HERE to our shores. There is plenty of supply sitting right offshore trying to get in.
Everyone starts life with choices and not much else. We all get to choose if we will take school seriously, if we will avoid acquiring bad habits, if we'll be diligent and self-disciplined in our studies and self-improvement, if we'll avoid making terrible choices (like dropping out, having kids we can't afford, not staying married, etc etc). None of these choices require money or privilege, and no one can stop us making those choices, nor stop us following through on them. Every person who left poverty under their own steam, did some or all of the above. No one stopped them. We CAN do anything we want - but we have to work our arses off for it. I suspect you were told you could just want it and it would happen. I wasn't told such nonsense. Meantime, I'm past 40 and still on the way up. I've just started another post-grad course, and have secured a part-time job in a field I've always been interested in. I'm also about to buy another property to provide additional buffer for the future when I can no longer earn income via work. Etc etc. None of it has been given to me - I've had to fight like a dog for all of it, and plan to continue. I'm always looking for new ways to improve and expand. ALWAYS.
How would government take it over and what would be taking it over? How about Biden bring in the heads of the major shipping companies, the major ports, the major trucking companies, the major rail lines, that major logistics companies and asking them "what do you need and how can I get it to you" for a start? You know like Trump did with manufacturing and the pharma's. But then they knew about this coming crisis last spring why weren't they doing that then?
I don't know, people blaming this on Biden think he should I guess Biden could do that, be smart, then he could take credit for it when it resolves itself
Oh goody, now that we have established basic free market principles perhaps we can conclude that your point was silly.
