I think he was imprisoned for lying to Congress

"In late November, Cohen was charged in a separate case from the special counsel’s office with one count of lying to Congress about how long discussions involving a proposed Trump Tower in Moscow had extended into the 2016 campaign."

So spare me the Michael Cohen the honorable and truthful man.

With Russia on the cusp of an invasion of Ukraine, inflation off the chain, massive supply chain issues, murder at the highest rates in two decades and a pandemic raging.... it is good to see the Democrats focusing on issues the American people really care about. Keep fiddling while the country burns and see what the voters think of you in November.

If it had been legal, it would not have been rejected by the SCOTUS.

It pains me to read this from someone who voted for a man who has done everything to politicize virtually every American institution.

But you can rest easy now, Biden will not try to force the DOJ to decertify the next election...

Since the 1/6 Commission hearings began, I wanted to know three things:

1- What was Trump doing during the riot?
2- To what extent did he try to bribe the DOJ to illegally overturn the election?
3- Why in the aftermath of the election did he fire top officials at the Pentagon and replace them with loyalists?

I got an answer for #1.

    The other two remain.

His state investigation (s) are probably a bigger concern, like his attempts to interfere in Georgia. But other states are looking into that and into his fake "alternate" electors. Hopefully the DOJ is looking into that fake bullshit as well. We'll see. And we'll also see him panic. Roaches like him always scurry from the light.

Leftists... they believe propaganda so readily. It's gone beyond amusing. It's now very troubling. It's like a mental illness.

Yeah, he lied to Congress on Trump's behalf. When he got caught, Trump threw him under the bus. In return, he spilled the beans on Trump.

Today he is a free, smiling, truth-telling man.

    Not the way it works.

Oh spare me, your emotional screeches have no effect on me.

Did you here him try to delegitimize it today?

He was in the White House watching it on TV just like everyone else, he tweeted twice for those at the Capital to be peaceful and respect the police. He had no responsibilty for the security at the Capital, no authority to do anything about it, no jurisdiction. But what legislative business is that of this committee?

What evidence do you have he did? And where is that authorized in the charter of this committee what does that have to do with what happened at the Capital? If that happened why didn't the Congress make that part of the impeachment?

What business is that of the Jan 6 committee? Where in their charter does it say they should be investigating any such matter?

No he went to jail for lying to Congress about things that would put him in jail. So pardon me if I do not take what he says at face value.

He was claiming a privilege he doesn’t have. Seems to be a trend for him as he also wanted pence to claim powers not granted to him either.

This is about trumps unconstitutional attempts to block documents from congress, not a criminal case.

But Crazy Rudy said Cohen is "an honest, honorable lawyer," and he also said, “I have no concern that Michael Cohen is going to do anything but tell the truth.” Then there is what dear Donald said:

In April, Trump accused the New York Times of “going out of their way to destroy Michael Cohen and his relationship with me in the hope that he will ‘flip.'” He called Cohen “a fine person with a wonderful family” who is a “businessman for his own account/lawyer who I have always liked & respected.”
    and

On June 15, 2018, White House reporters asked Trump in a press gaggle if Cohen was still his friend and lawyer. He said, “I always liked Michael Cohen… No, he’s not my lawyer anymore. But I always liked Michael, and he’s a good person.”

He did nothing for two hours.

    Nothing.

We heard that he was called on by dozens of relatives/collaborators/right-wing pundits to take action, to call for calm... but he did nothing.

While he was in front of the TV, his supporters were tearing down the Capitol, attacking police officers and tried to get at elected officials, including the VP.

    For proof, here it is:

Senate report details Trump’s attempt to use DoJ to overturn election defeat

And this is one of the first steps in Trump's plan to overthrow democracy.

Replacing generals in the Pentagon was another.

Just as this protest on Capitol Hill was supposed to put enough pressure on Pence to decertify the results.

What happened on 1/6 was the final act of a coup attempt planned by Trump from the day after the election.

    - Ridiculously obviously decision... shouldn't have taken this long... really shouldn't have been taken up in the first place
    - Clarence Thomas is now officially an out-of-touch old fart and needs to go....
    - Probably won't be much in these tranches anyway.... such is the mentality of the loser fighting it... doesn't matter to him anyway.
    - I believe T**** is planning an appeal to the International Federation of Planets

It doesn't freaking matter.... What matters is they were legitimately requested and the former POTUS shouldn't be able to stop it if the current POTUS disagrees. If there's nothing there, there's nothing there..... Not the end of the world... (P.S. If he was fighting them, there's something there)

Focus on the big picture here....

That makes so much sense... that old cow is still bitter about her election in 2016 so she figured out a way to get back at Joe Biden, conspiring with known Democrat fans Roger Stone and Steve Bannon..... and JFK Jr....

    Great call!!!
