No! The "remedy" is ONE law: ban all firearms in the hands of the general public. But, since that is not possible, we need restrictions to REDUCE the number of incidents and the number of deaths.

I think it's more a sickness of legislators who play politics with the life of children. But whatever sickness it is, clearly this is the only country in the world that has it.

How about education ?
In high school, I recall a mandatory course that touched on a whole list of social issues. I think they called it "Hygiene" , simply because they couldn't come up with a more banal description. There were lectures on drug abuse, teen pregnancy, smoking, STD's , CPR and First Aid etc.

How about adding Firearms Safety and Mental health to the curriculum ?

 

Define stronger.
The current system check to see if a person is legally prohibited from having a firearm - f not, it goes through.
No background check system will stop a purchase by someone who can legally own a firearm.
