If he didn't succeed in illegally overturning the election in 2020, why is it any more likely that he'll do it in 2024? It sounds to me like Hillary is complaining that he'll win legitimately because of Democrats' obsession with loony causes, and then plans to blame it on Trump! He won't need to overturn it if he wins. Stupid or dishonest.

The irony in all this is that Trump was never anti trans anyway. Remember that reporter who thought he'd nail Trump by asking which bathroom in Trump tower Kaitlyn Jenner could use? That went over like a lead balloon.

It is all straight out of Alinsky: accuse your opponents of all the bad things you are doing. (Except ignoring minority factions is not Alinsky.) An open frontal 5- 6-year onslaught to overturn an election and unseat a president (including a concerted effort to change the electoral vote in Jan 2017), and HR1 (not to mention the Jan 6 committee) are light years magnitudes more of a direct attack on democracy than anything Republicans are doing or ever have done.

 

Well there has been a concerted effort to get 'big lie' Republicans supporters into posts where they could affect how an election is certified.

The problem Hillary (and other Democratic leaders have) is equating democracy with them being in power. The greater problem is their supporters actually have bought the connection, showing how ignorant they truly are about the workings of democracy. When you have a population that doesn't even know that in order for an insurrection to be successful all three branches of our government must be overtaken it's showing signs of falling apart. What we had on 1/6 didn't even come close to succeeding. The threat to our system is first undertaken by reforming the Judicial branch. They are the "gatekeepers" of our democracy. Ask yourself, which Party wants to change the SC to make the changes of the legislative branch easier to accomplish? Hillary and those like her are the real threat to our democracy.

When the Dems speak of losing democracy, what they really mean is losing demo(crat)ocracy. They fear losing their own power. But, after this disastrous administration, it's pretty much unavoidable. So yes, we're going to lose democratocracy. Thank God!

If Hillary is really afraid of another mob of 500 unorganized nuts, with no game plan, backing, or weapons storming the Capitol to stop the certification process, she wouldn't be worried about Democrats over focusing on Trans "rights" and defunding the police.

Don't you see? If she thinks dems will lose even in a fair election because of your focus on BLM/DEFUNDPOLICE/TRANSRIGHTS, Trump mobs will have no incentive to storm the Capitol because they will win at the ballot box.

It can be one or the other, but not both simultaneously.

 

Trump has never won an election. He even cried "rigged" in 2016 and then closed his own Election Integrity Commission while in office.

I do not believe that comparing 2020 to 2024 is a fair comparison. Trump was advised that he couldn't win 2020 because of the pandemic. He basically walked off the job and campaigned full time gaslighting his supporters into thinking everyone loves him (nobody in the world does except them and they are the minority). He needed to get re-elected to stave off the various criminal cases that were on hold while he held office. That's why he wanted it overturned. He never cared about being our POTUS. He only wanted the protection of the DOJ and the title so he couldn't be prosecuted.

Looking at all the damage and distress he caused in those few months (COVID in the US until election day), it's not that difficult to imagine how much damage he can and will cause with 4 years prep. time. He is already threatening people that if they don't back his Big Lie he will support their opponent. He just trashed his own demon seed daughter. He literally sent an angry mob after his own Vice-President and did NOTHING to stop them as he, reportedly, watched in glee. In those short months he appointed DeJoy to remove machines, mailboxes and overtime just to further disenfranchise voters in counties unlikely to vote "R". He has manipulated our SCOTUS (what's the point in having the hearings if they are going to be faithless and flip once they get in?).

So, yes, he can and does and will continue to cause as much drama as he can while he's moving his pawns around the country to be in place for his next shot at the title. He'd rather burn the country to the ground than publicly state that we need to move on. He's too selfish and narcissistic to do that. He should step aside just because of his age not even taking his horribly unethical, immoral and illegal actions into account.

Trump is a master con man.

He has been an atheist his whole life but he can hold up a book in front of a church and the people swoon.
He has been anti-vax his whole life but he can flip solely because he wanted the COVID vaccines named after himself.
He has been anti-America his whole life but he can molest our flag and people cheer.

He doesn't stand for a damn thing but himself and his bank account. He is a whore. He will say and do anything to keep people shaking their piggy banks for him. That's ALL that matters to him.

 

It's different when they do it. By any means necessary!

Adam Schiff, for one, who goes to MSNBC-CNN spreading his usual schiff about having the "proof" that Trump planned the "insurrection".

I don't see how any of that validates Hillary's phony concern about democracy. If Trump is going to take over "zee whole world, moo haha," then it doesn't matter that the Democrats are over focused on BLM/Defund/Trans "issues," which there aren't even such issues anyway. Go change your gender in your home town and watch everyone yawn.
