    The Second Amendment wins. Again.
    https://www.scotusblog.com/2022/06/in-6-3-ruling-court-strikes-down-new-yorks-concealed-carry-law/
The state of NY has suffered another loss. The "above the law" concealed carry law of NY has been struck down. Lawful carry for self defense has been specifically upheld, and the idea that only those with sufficient wealth, or privilege could employ armed security has been rebuked by the Supreme Court. Thomas' opinion is a scathing rebuke of the current democratic party fascism vis a vis gun rights in this country.

You can, and should be able to carry a gun to defend yourselves from the feckless democratic party DAs who let criminals walk only to commit more and worse crimes. The safety of the nation and it's citizens has been upheld.

Today is a day to celebrate.

"Shall issue" has been a sticking point for a while. Peruta, out in California, was initially a favorable ruling but got overturned en banc and then was denied Writ on appeal. Good to see that this court chose to hear a case on the subject. We will have to see what other "may issue" states do in response.

Absolutely ridiculous, The states with these gun laws have really high population density. NYC has 8.5M people in a 300square mile radius. Not to mention we are seeing gun deaths and mass shootings on the rise, they are just inviting carnage. Then when NYC and other liberal states end up getting more gun violence they will says SeE gUn CoNtRoL DoEsNt WoRk.

Unsurprising, CNN are foretelling the end of the world... To be honest, CNN seem to be taking the side of the mass shooters who shoot up places like schools because no one there can shoot back. It's time CNN get held accountable for their public support of killing reservations for criminals.

NYCs Homicide rate was over 26 per 100,000 in 1981 in 2021 it was 5.5 per 100,000.

NYCs gun laws are why the city went from one of the most violent cities to one of the least.

Far from it. What this ruling allows if for the average citizen to protect themselves from the crime democrats foist on them by letting the criminals walk out of jail. Mass shootings might be less likely now that shooters might have to find themselves engaged by other armed folks. What is ridiculous is the idea that making everyone a victim because you couldn't buy your way to be able to carry a weapon for defense has been crushed. If you don't like density? move away. Lots of folks are as we discuss.

Hmm.. Not really. And interesting use of a statistical error which would also have shown that homicides are up a lot since 2020/2019 why? Liberal DAs. Simple stuff. The world gets more equitable, and democrats squeal about it. It's humorous to watch.

Democrats just found out that equal protection can be applied against them and their elitism... Good news for the rest of us.

Held: New York’s proper-cause requirement violates the Fourteenth Amendment by preventing law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-de- fense needs from exercising their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms in public for self-defense. Pp. 8–63.

They are up because of masking due to the pandemic, criminals can now wear masks to protect identity and thus its easer to get away with crime. Also the radicalization of the population

Masks + Guns + Radicalization = More death.

Edit- What part of my post was statistical error? Homicide is down 80% from its peak.

Nah.. Crime is up because Democratic DAs are telegraphing to criminals that is it open season. Get caught? Walk out. Even if police do catch, DAs are releasing just as quickly. So, crime is up.

I have said that for years, you should not have to get permission to concealed carry as it is the polite way to carry, not sure why so many republicans States are anti-2nd

Absent context, or a citation, which "republican states" are you worried about? And given the citation of the 14th, said states will have to also comply with the ruling. But why call the republican states out when it was the Democrat party states that have traditionally been the problem?

Statistics can certainly suggest you have a point, but the reality is that the average month in Chicago has more murders than the state of ND does in a year. But, because so few folks live in ND, the average per person looks like it is a worse condition. But murder doesn't work that way. Dead is dead, and more dead folks is also a comparative standard. So deaths per 100K is meaningless when your state piles up murders but has a denser population. We know this. When you ask folks where they want to live, it isn't CA, or IL, or NY... Just sayin.

Yes, it is. This is the biggest and best news for the 2A since Heller, and will have just as big of an affect. I used to live in NYC, and while I would have liked to have had a concealed carry permit (which Florida was happy to sell me once they background checked me up, down, and sideways), but I wasn't friends with the Mayor, so I knew damn well there was no way I would ever get one. Now if they get rid of the city's income tax I might actually consider moving back. Due to the weather, I probably won't, but if that miracle happened, I might just be tempted.

Mark my words, however, NY, CA, and IL (especially) will fight this, file their own lawsuits, or just flat out ignore it for at least half the next decade until perhaps the Court itself brings down the hammer and starts issuing arrest warrants for public officials.

I suspect you're correct. Democrats always believe the law doesn't apply to them. I suppose they will create "sanctuary" states for tyranny...

If every state and big city was able to make gun laws however they want you would see a big change. You can't comment on Chicago when they have their gun laws struck down. Also NYC was more successful because it wasn't surrounded by lax gun law states.

If liberals were allowed to ban guns and confiscation we would have levels of death of Europe.

the republican food pyramid dietary recommendations under Nixon have killed\harmed more Americans than guns or anti-gun laws ever could

high carb\low fat eating is causing many of the issue we see in this country and around the world

You mean the law they put in place in 1919 didn't have an effect until 2021?

Care to explain your 'logic' there sport?

The failed argument again. It doesn't get any better the next time you use it either. Chicago has a crime problem. it isn't because of guns. It's because they have folks who don't respect the civility of the city they live in. Crime isn't a function of gun ownership, and you know it.

I don't know. I don't live in one of those states. My state has open carry. It is the law.
