In the case of my mother it would be HER choice of what to do with HER body. Correct
Yes. Sorry, but when it comes to a non-viable fetus the decision should always be up to the woman.

I have always agreed with Ruth Bader on this. This was horrible law, and perhaps if the country or state populations want to make their own will heard, now, because of this ruling, they can. The biggest loser here is the unitarian monolithic paternalism of democrats.

Since every court is "installed" your continued hyperbole is noted.

There is no constitutional right for a mother to kill her unborn baby, never was one.

Abortion was granted as a right via the Penumbra doctrine.

Penumbral reasoning works like this, if you have the right to wash dishes, then that presumes you have the right to purchase dish soap. Now, washing dishes is not a right, its just a metaphor, one right specifically granted presumes others in pursuit of that right.

The doctrine exists simply because you can't expect the Constitution to spell out every presumed right there is, it's too cumbersome to put into a document like the Constitution, which should be broad, high minded in it's language.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penumbra_(law)
In Roe v Wade, where the United States Supreme Court ruled that the right to privacy protects the right to terminate a pregnancy. Glenn H. Reynolds has also observed that courts routinely engage in penumbral reasoning, regardless of their location on the political spectrum.

Given that fact, this court has taken way a right granted to women for over 50 years.

I hope republicans pay dearly for it at the polls.

    El-oh-El

This guy thinks people are going to vote based on Roe V Wade over Joe Biden making them poorer with each and every passing day. Sure, you might get the pink-haired vote… but let’s be honest… they were voting Dem anyway.

I've always felt that Roe should have been grounded on firmer constitutional footing, but the justices failed to make that argument and now we're seeing the consequences of that failure.

It's that failure which truly astounds me. Jurists who were supposed to be the most brilliant legal and constitutional minds in this country failed to make an argument that an underground English printer - Richard Overton - made in 1646.

To be fair, however, I don't subscribe to Alito & Co.'s reading of history and tradition, either....

Well if anything, we FINALLY have the Left discussing how Islamic laws are now bad! Maybe one day they can condemn what Islamic countries are doing to gays there too. Baby steps ...

This is what happens when you turn the hyperbole up to eleven.

The role of the Supreme Court is to interpret the law and therefore constitution, not to legislate law or to reinterpret the constitution to bypass the arduous amendment process.

Personally I'm pro-choice, but I think today's decision is the right one. It was always a fool's errand to try to have the same rules for, for example, Alabama and Connecticut regarding a question where both sides believe they hold the moral high ground. The result will be a patchwork of different laws that accurately reflect citizens' sentiments.

America gets to decide now. Abortion is not declared illegal by this ruling. There has never been a RIGHT for a mother to kill her unborn baby. The legislatures will now have to do their job's.

And you and others are free to start charitable organizations and tobraise money to facilitate mothers to kill their unborn baby's by traveling somewhere. You like groups, which I have supported, who help pay expenses for parents who have to take their children to out of state medical facilities to SAVE their baby's life.

Here's the real kicker. Research around the world shows that banning abortions doesn't significantly reduce the number of abortions that are done.

Ahhhh, be that as it may! Those ruling are not as secure as constitutional right, you now understand WHY.. The whole ordeal is moronic in todays technological era, why are Women choosing invasive removal over prevention? It makes no sense other than lack of intelligence or some other mind boggling reason one wants to have a medical procedure?

It was a right for 50 years. Stop lying.

Republicans deny rights. We have seen this time and time again. Republicans take rights away. That is what they do.

BS. If its a life, please tell me about your experience in the womb ?

If it's a "life", then how do justify support for capital punishment ?

FTR, this idea of "life" is a religious argument, not a scientific one

That hypocrisy cuts both ways, doesn't it?

If you supported the vaccine mandates you've got nothing to complain about, because you don't truly believe individuals have an inherent right to self-proprietorship. You believe it is a privilege granted by the government to individuals when it suits you.

Welcome to Karmaland, "progressive" vax nazis - today you choke on your own damned lack of principles.

Yup... this will be the 2022 "Summer of Love"... I'm "sure" that these violent left wing extremists will get locked in prison for years and relentlessly labeled as insurrectionists... ;) ;)
