Well, they have to. The Cheeto Hezuz is under Rule of Law scrutiny and is flailing, whining while fund raising.

Publicly pushed away twice by an American swimmer because she didn't want him to kiss her.
Manafort admitted that he helped Russia flip our elections for money.
He has to turn his taxes over to the J 6 committee
His home in Florida was "raided" by the FBI
It looks like Mark Meadows might have flipped
Questions about him selling state secrets to foreign governments have come up
He and his family will have to testify in front of a NY court because NY's AG Letitia Davis is after his real estate frauds
Rudy Giuliani has to be in front of a Georgia Grand Jury run by Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis because of the phony electors he tried to install after Trump lost the state in 2020
And Joe Biden is kicking ass too.

    And today is only Wednesday.

thanks to botany tor a great list.

Donald Trump called it “siege,” a “raid,” a modern-day Watergate, complete with nefarious safe-crackers. Florida Gov. Rick DeSantis darkly suggested the Biden administration – or “the Regime,” as he phrased it
    ...

CNN reported that on June 3, Jay Bratt, the head of the Counterintelligence and Export Control section at the Justice Department, traveled to the property with three colleagues. They met with two of Trump’s attorneys there, and briefly with Trump himself. The attorneys allowed the investigators access to a basement room where the presidential documents were being kept. Some had Top Secret markings, according to one source interviewed by CNN.

Five days later, at the request of the investigators, Trump’s aides installed a padlock to the door of the storage room.

“They probably saw stuff that Trump should absolutely not be in possession of,” Strzok said. “Subpoenaing it won’t work, because of the chain of custody. And Trump isn’t acting in good faith to just hand the stuff over. The only other option left is to get a warrant.”

A good story as to the likely reason for the raid on MAL.
    Possible, laws were broken.

I love how your dumbass little story doesn’t point out the fact that when the investigators went to the room they were allowed to take what they wanted and ended up taking 15 boxes of records.

So on what grounds does the moron in your story claim that Trump wasn’t acting in good faith?

Is there even evidence they requested these specific documents from Trump? Or did they just raid his house for them lol

The fact you folks think the SCOTUS is going to allow this third world dictator **** to stand is hilarious. Even CNN analysts are on tv saying “they better have more than just some presidential documents that weren’t returned” lol

Meadows? It's possible but he will have to find a different country to inhabit. The Trump sycophants will be lookin' for him on 5th Avenue.

I find it easier to believe Trump has done something criminal than I do that electricity makes my computer work.

But raiding a presidential residence is going to require a high burden of proof to show it was warranted. I sincerely hope the folks in charge have sufficient documented justification. And they need to announce it soon. Letting this fester will be far far worse for this country. I fully expect the Trump crowd to crow to high heaven about deep states and persecution and all their usual nonsense, so the FBI and the Justice Department better not prove them right.

I've said on here multiple times that I'm only in favor of legal action against Trump if it is an airtight case. This better be that. I'm withholding judgment until I see the evidence they've justified this with.

POS45 could simply have returned the people's property, QED. All of it but apparently, he's "the people".

In addition, before leaving office, he could have simply declassified said docs but he was too busy trying to overthrow the people's will and install himself as despot.

Meh, I see nothing in the OP that is compelling enough to justify the actions of the FBI.

On NPR last night, they interviewed a person who was an office director with the FBI(I think), during trump term in office.
According to that person, the DoJ will not release public statements. They leave any statements they need to make to be done in a court room.

However, there are exceptions to every rule, and that is just a policy(rule), and of course, this is one that would be an exception.
But I suspect, it will be very brief and factual.

And I agree, this is such a monsterous step to take, there needs to be absolute airtight reason for this.
But it sounds like this was a National Security issue.

Good article. The less intelligent that consider Trump a deity in human form won't read it, but very interesting nevertheless.

    Of course you don't.
That's what trump said way back in 2016 about his followers.

    ...
"I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?" he said, referring to the major street in New York City that cuts through Manhattan's large commercial district. "It's, like, incredible."

    ...
I bet you also think the 2020 election was stolen?

Good we look forward to seeing what they found in their thorough search. And since it was legal, on what grounds their search was authorized.

But I bet when we find out you’ll be sad lol Because from what I just heard from a friend in DC is that they found NADA. Nothing. Butkus. Zilch. And that the warrant justification was less than impressive.

I really don't care that much about Trump. The fact he can get some folks all riled up is hilarious.

I wonder how many qualified, professional Russian translators were called in by the FBI to translate certain documents.

His "best people" still have it high on their agenda - right after those investigators return from Hawaii. They can't believe what they are finding.

Wowzers! Sounds like your friend knows a whole lot!

I heard different from my brother’s cousin’s friend’s dad. He said they found a whole bunch and that the warrant was the most perfect warrant you’ve ever seen.

    Guess we’ll see, huh?

Compare this to the FBI's handling of the clearly felon Hillary. IIRC only two agents, including the Director, interviewed Hillary as part of their investigation just a couple of days before Comey announced nothing would be forthcoming from his months long investigation. The FBI allowed Hillary to have her assistant and lawyer in the interview which is seldom if ever done though it was a voluntary interview. No 50 agents some in swat gear there. No siree.
