Was the January 6 riot/insurrection defensible?

You still have professional idiots who call the riot their "1776 moment," and we still have people on the forum who refuse to even so much as acknowledge that the riot was violent.

I'd say that was wishful thinking at best given who congress does work, and how Nancy chose to not protect using the national guard troops that Trump had actually authorized them. It does beg a lot of questions then.

So, tell me, when the protestors that the FBI chose not to interfere with were deliberately trying to interfere with the SCOTUS Dobbs decision, do you accept that by your own theory here that those folks were actively and deliberately involved in insurrection?

There have been plenty of them, though I'm glad to see you aren't among them. Among those who do admit it was violent, they frequently claim it was undercover Antifa/BLM/FBI and not actual Trump supporters, which is also nutty.

 

If you're sorry, why are you making fun of his physical appearance? It can't be for his charging Trump with responsibility for what happened on January 6. At least I don't see how it can be.

 

There is way too much broad brushing that goes on on internet fora and in the media. The media do it to stoke up enmity, to get viewers, and thereby sell insurance and pharmaceuticals. So at least they have an excuse.

The protesters didn't break in to the Court. Nobody was telling them he/she'd meet them at the Court to "fight like Hell". There weren't ****head militias there breaking in. Insane comparison.

Once and for all, Nancy Pelosi was NOT placed in charge as the commander of police forces at the Capitol. That's another RW fever dream.

An insurrection probably not, but very much Trump's fault, since they were all there at his behest based on the election fraud narrative he invented to try and keep himself in power and keep his supporter's wallets open. Trump may not be culpable in that he led the riot or commanded it, but he spent months willingly constructing the factors that led to it, knowing the entire time that it was all fake.

 

I'd sure like to know how you logically arrived at this conclusion. Did Trump personally tell you he knew it was all fake?

 

Of course he knew it was fake. The same may not be able to be said for the millions of his supporters who bought his lies since they probably believe him, but he himself knows it's fake because he had to make it up in the first place. When something didn't happen, is never substantiated, and even your own employees are saying this didn't happen sir, but you continue to tell people it did, you know what you're doing.

Trump knows what he's doing, and it's turned out to be very profitable for him. What probably started as an ego defense peppered with sore losing has now turned into a multi-million dollar fund-raising scheme that not only keeps people paying attention to him, but has also been used by candidates for office to further their own elections. And when some of those candidates lose, as some surely will, they will use the same tactics from the Trump playbook in an attempt to overturn the election in their favor and fund raise and gain influence for themselves exactly as their party leader showed them how to.

 

So, all you have is your belief. I thought so.

Insurrection=a violent uprising against an authority or government

So it doesn't count, these people sought to influence the vote as Trump asked but then a small minority chose to riot. If this was an insurrection then so were all those Antifa/BLM rampages.
