Because, as Turtledude pointed out in another thread, suicide and accidents aren't crimes. Calling them "gun violence" is not only incorrect, it's dishonest.

Death by gun shot is a very violent way to die, so its perfectly fine to classify it aa gun violence. As a matter of fact, it would be dishonest to call it anything else.

When I was in high school, my friends dad shot himself. I was there. it was violent.

Violence does not have to be directed at another person. If you shoot yourself, you are committing violence to themselves. No clue why you'd call it a lie.

When I was a teenager, a friend of mine shot himself with a double barreled shotgun in front if his sister, and it was off the charts violent.

Officers arrived to the scene along the 700 block of Seabreeze Boulevard.

Upon arrival, they found two people who had been shot.

I call it a lie because it's a lie. No where else are accidents and suicide considered "violence".

 

Black "youth" in action, I see. The black community has a massive problem with violence, murder, and lawlessness. To the point that the majority of murders in the U.S. are black perps and the majority of murders victims are black victims. There is a huge problem in the black community with thug life and the glorification of violence.

 

Clearly that is what you believe, but the fact remains that people can and do commit violence onto themselves, and some are locked up because they are a danger to others AND themselves. It is called self-harm and it IS a form of violence.

No, it concerns other entities, although LE is usually called in when someone attempts suicide or other self harm aka violence.

 

So, anytime someone does in an accident, or kills themselves, no matter how they do it, it's considered violence? Why of course it's not. Saying so isn't correct.
