I could insult you, but I'll refrain from that. You're insulting me, so I call it for what it is and move on.

More to the point, I "understand" you VERY well, at least the things that I should/do pay attention to about the meaning of the things you say.

You enhance every motivation within me, to take what you're communicating here... and transform it into something that changes this nation. Yeah, you not only remind myself and other homosexual people to BE 'activistic' about all of this, you fuel that spirit of activism within us.

Now please, give me one 'valid' example of that and I promise not to call it STUPID (just is, that I'm referring to everything above, so far). You don't even realize how DISGUSTING your irrational animus is, and you put your credibility out here, as if you (and anyone who thinks the way you do) should be proud of it. Really, it is disgusting AND infuriating... you don't have to believe what I say, but you should know the actual 'effect' of your reprehensible message. You probably want a fight, but you aren't anywhere close, to a guarantee that you'll win; in fact, most reasonable people see you losing post-by-post.

You are saying things that are simply foolish; you don't have a clue about how you sound, to any person that knows something on the topic. Maybe that irrational animus is what you and others with your view are seeking; maybe that bigotry seems to be victory to you... the mere expression of it being your consolation, even in the midst of intellectual and moral defeat. I can respect that you don't approve of homosexuality; but you have a long way to go in realizing and accepting that homosexual people are HUMAN (and worthy of full rights) just like you.

It should be like that for everyone really. Being with a partner they love, and who loves them, is something we all want for our kids.

Word. Basically, what many of the anti-equality folks have reduced it to is genitalia. A couple must consist of one male set and one female set. Nothing else matters.

The social bullies and Neanderthals... have literally propelled a 'movement', and it is NOT comprised merely of gay people. Other HUMAN BEINGS have seen/learned what homosexual people and other minorities have faced and are facing. I believe a newer era where tolerance of 'bigotry' is decreasing; I welcome this day.

I told some of the participants here many weeks ago, that I'd show my reasoned and strong contempt for their "intolerance" as they express it. And it is (I think) the next social trend that needs to happen in America; that many who would seek to 'dehumanize' homosexual people, be put immediately and firmly on-notice.

You know, even IF some idiot thinks homosexuality is a disease, disorder or other 'defect', it should be evident that they must have reasonable compassion for other human beings. But folks with expressions such as 'dixie's', need to be called-out... because that DEHUMANIZATION (clever as they believe it to be), is just plain 'POOP' in a world suffering as this one is. I simply will not tolerate it; neither should other decent Americans or people of other nations.

I don't mind at all, as long as you give me credit.

I remember one of the most heartwarming moments I ever had with my father. He was a redneck himself, but the friendly kind, not the scary kind.

We were sitting in his truck in the school parking lot when a blonde girl walked by (I've always preferred brunettes).

Dad: She's pretty cute, don't you think?
Me: I guess she's okay.
Dad: (shocked) Seriously? You gay or somethin'?

(A longer pause, and then it suddenly dawned on him that maybe I was.)

Dad: I didn't mean it to sound like that. If you are gay, we can talk about it. I don't understand how one guy can like another that way, but no one in the world understands how a woman like your mom can love a man like me. I don't have to understand to be happy for you.

I'm glad to see this topic question again.....After considering the situation. If my kid told me they were gay. I would take'em to the barn and beat the crap out of him.
If it was my daughter, my lovely wife would do the honors.

But....Today..I know that my kids grew up to be God Fearing, respectfull normal folk.
All married, and with their own normal children.

The real perversion in America is the lack of humanity, the spewing of hate, and hostility along with rationalizing violence against people. Instead of spewing ignorance and succumbing to fear and bigotry Dixie and his ilk might better get to know people who they fear and think they hate. They will be surprised to learn how much alike all people really are; the country, as a result, will be a better place for all.

I would just be happy that they'd feel comfortable and trusting enough to tell me. After that id be supportive, and treat them the same as i had. It wouldnt bother me.

 

Being gay or lesbian doesnt have to be the end of your family name. There's adoption, sperm donors, and surrogate mothers. It might not be the traditional way to start a family, but its still a family.

 

Don't pay old Dixie no never mind. Every village has one and he's ours, God love him. He's stuck somewhere back in a time before he was born when men thought women should be subservient to them in all things, meet all their needs on demand, run the house, raise the kids and still hold down a job; blacks should be cleaning white folks' houses and mowing white folks' lawns or shining shoes or cooking at the cafe; gays are OK if they keep quiet about it, do hair, arrange flowers, dance in the ballet or decorate houses and discreetly fill in when a man has needs and there ain't no womenfolk around.
