If it was me, and they stepped foot onto my property, I would ask them to leave, if they did not leave they would be attacked. Its pretty simple, you don't want to be attacked, don't set foot on other peoples property.
This isn't about socialism. I would fight a socialist uprising. This is about a setting up a tax system that closes the wealth gap and allows for a smooth stepping stone path from poor to rich for those who work for it.
And you would be on the wrong side of the law, especially if you used lethal force. Step two should be calling the police.
redesign the tax system. Make it simpler. No loopholes. No exceptions. And make it progressive with tax brackets going up to a 10 billion dollar income. Do whatever it takes to close the income gap. The smoother the transition from rich to poor the more opportunity to climb the ladder.
No. Not a flat tax. That would essentially be an upper class tax cut and a lower class tax hike. Progressive taxes are proven to be economically beneficial. And that's the whole point here. Economically beneficial means higher wages and more opportunity to climb the ranks for the 99% Tax brackets are a necessary part of the tax system.
Not necessarily. It staples like food were exempted and all transactions were included (including buying and selling stocks and overseas purchases) it would make it quite progressive.
Sounds to me like we're moving more in the direction of complications that allow for loopholes. There are only 2 things that should matter in tax considerations. Income. And number of dependents. And income from investments needs to be treated as income. Not "capital gains". Income is income.
So lets have a fair tax. A national sales tax on anything that is bought. The problem with our tax code now is that alot of people pay nothing. They actually get a tax refund also. If you live and vote, you should be paying something.
Legalized theft? Can we skip the hyperboles? It's nothing more than a fee for providing you the system that allows you to prosper. The more you prosper the more you've benefited from the system the more you should pay. It's as simple as that. Consumption taxes put a much heavier burden on the poor because they are the ones that spend nearly 100% of their income on consumables.
Hate to tell you but if the middle/lower class thinks its going to get out of this without a tax increase of their own they are nuts. Everyone's taxes are going to go up, it's only a matter of time.
The corporations who caused the Bush Depression that threw millions of Americans out of work and defered their dreams, are run by people. And those people have names and addresses. Time to shame them and make them feel a little heat. GO OCCUPIERS!
And if you exempt staples like food, the burden shifts again. And yes, it is legalized theft. Taxes should only apply to voluntary actions.
Food is not the only consumable. Home repairs, medical expenses, business expenses. Once you start adding exceptions you start bringing back this complicated system that can be taken advantage of. No exceptions are needed. Just income and dependents. Your income isn't voluntary? If the rich want a lower tax bracket they can forfit their income at any time.
What about the big banks that donated more to Obama than any other candidate in history? what should we do with them?
Can't expect a liberal to do their own work, they want a handout any time, even when sitting front of the thing that will get them those answers they seek.
Since you refuse to support your argument, I can only assume that you made it up and you concede the point.
Income should not be taxed. The only exemption should be food, as that is required to live. Beyond that, put a sales tax on all transactions of somewhere around 20%. And bear in mind, that is all transactions. Yeah, it would apply when poor people make home repairs. It would also apply when rich people buy stocks in and invest in companies. That's just wrong. You really do want to punish success.
That individuals are behind the Bush Recession, and propered from it, while millions of hard working Americans were thrown out of work. So it isn't some inexorable force that caused this problem -- it's the power of a certain class of people. The Occupiers are demystifying the usual conservative mumbo jumbo about capitalism being normal.
Wow? You said this ^^^ and you really think you know what you are talking about. Making everyone equal monetarily IS socialism. Making the rich pay more in taxes hurts those just becoming rich. You want the poor to go to rich with skipping over the middle class. You just don't get it that is everyone was given an equal share of todays wealth and we all started over, it would be a year before everyone was separate AGAIN. You are the reason why I don't believe in evolution, but give more credit to De-evolution.
