Yeah, the Pats can do no wrong. Look at the Packers???? How did they manage to get knocked out of the playoffs after only losing one regular season game? Oh well...any given Sunday and all that?:omg:

IMO, the Packers lost because they had the worst defense in the entire NFL (yards per game allowed) and they rode Aaron Rodgers as far as they could.

BTW, the Patriots have the second worst defense in the NFL (y.p.g.a.).

    Pabst Blue Ribbon!!!!!!

The trash talk has already begun between buddies who are giants fans and me.

But, we'll all be getting together to watch the game and enjoy some pre-game trash talking

I hope the commercials deliver this year because the Giants won't

What's with all the sour grapes around here? Look, the Patriots are the most excitng team the NFL has seen in a long time. And who in their right mind would miss a chance at watching Brady break two or three more records in the process? Lets keep in mind that this will be the 4th super bowl win for the Patriots in this short century. How many other teams can boast of that success in a mere 12 years? While you're at it you may want to keep tabs on the Boston Bruins hockey team as they go for back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships. And the Boston Red Sox won the World Series twice this century and the Boston Celtics have more championships then any other team. I do realize that Boston is the sports city/hub of the universe, so it must realy suck living anywhere else and still hold an interest in sports.

PAtriots will not make the point spread. Too many gamblers and bets in bean town, they still have the Mob you know. They will move the line. I have called it 5 of the last 6 superbowls. Take that to the bank. That is a 80% odds on winning. just don't bet the farm. Untill the line moves, and in what direction, you will know where to put your money.

Sure, the mob is gone in Boston...there's no mob in Providence or New York or New Jersey or Chicagor, either...

Now there's a post that can bring up ones lunch. The Patriots "are the most exciting team..."? Why? Oh ya that's right, because their defense is so bad, the other team can always stay in the game. You can be delusional, if you choose to consider this SB in the bag for N.E., but you might want to check these FACTS out first: The Giants already beat "the most exciting team" this year, in Foxboro no less, where Eli Manning "out Brady-ed" Brady (again); Speaking of Manning, he has more Super Bowl winning TD passes than Brady(1-0) - FACT; The Pats are 1-2 against teams that finished above .500 this season, with their only win coming last week vs. the Ravens, where they coulda/arguably shoulda lost. The Giants ended up 4-3 vs. above .500 teams. I'm not including N.E.'s 31st rated defense because, just like the Giants lowly ranked rushing attack , it's irrelevant to how they're playing now, when it matters the most.
Considering that this years Patriot team is not nearly as good as the 2008 team & this years Giant team is probably on par with the 2008 version(the proof is reflected in the spread, only 2.5 in some places), and the Giants won the 2008 game, please explain, in rational terms if possible (it's hard, I know), how this is a slam dunk for N.E.?
I won't even go into your "Boston is the sports city/hub of the universe" blather. All I'll say is the Yankees by themselves have 27 world championships, which is probably as many, if not more, than all of Boston's teams in all of history combined. I haven't added it up, but it's probably pretty close. We won't even add to the N.Y. total with the Mets, Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Islanders, Giants, Jets and baseballs N.Y. Giants & Brooklyn Dodgers, when they were there. There is more to say, but this will do for now.

Same group, different outfits. YT Bulger still has associates in high places.

Crack heads and wannabe rapers dont have the money to place bets to move lines.

I can't think of one time in the history of the NFL that an all defensive game (say a 3-0) outcome score was considered to be an 'EXCITING' game to watch, can you?

While I do say the Pat's will win this SB, I was also careful to point out that they may not even cover the tiny spread in doing so. The Giants beat the Pats back early in the season when they were still formulating a young and inexperienced defense. Bellicheck has a way of coaching these guys into shape as the season progresses. The redemption factor for Bellicheck and the Patriots is also very key in guranteeing them their 4th super bowl win.

You said it, their 31st rated defense didn't mean squat during the regular season since they still managed to win 13 games, and its how they're playing and progressing now that matters most.

A slam dunk gives one visions of a blowout, which certainly isn't what I predicted. I disagree with you that this year's Pat's team isn't as good as their 2008 team. The 2008 team did have a better defense, but this year's team is far superior on the offensive side of the ledger--and most of these guys save for Brady himself represent perhaps the youngest offensive squad in football. Can you say dynasty in the making?

I admit that only NY even comes close to having an array of sports teams that are close to par with the Boston teams, but look to the success of the 4 Boston teams of late in say the 21st century compared to that of the 6 NY teams to get an idea of where the enthusiasm and talent is most appreciated and acknowledged. They don't call the Red Sox Red Sox Nation for nothing. I watched a Red Sox/Orioles game on the telly and there were more Red Sox fans there in Baltimore at that game then there were Oriole fans, and they were much louder to boot. I see Red Sox, Bruin, Celtics and Patriot fans all over the nation when their teams are on the road. Its really uncanny to see the Boston sports faithful fill up these road stadiums at such a high rate. Surely you must have seen the Red Sox beat the Yankees 4 straight in the playoffs after being down 0-3 for the American league championship, then go on to win the World Series in 4 straight. Its times like that that make for exciting sports history, all thanks to your Boston sports teams.

just a few days away from a NE victory. I'll be in a mixed crowd of Giants and Pats fans and a good time will be had by all regardless if the Patriots margin of victory is 2 or 3TD's

I find myself caught up in the Peyton drama. Sure he has plenty of money but the guy deserves better than this drama

Patriots will lose this game.Thye shouldnt be there in the first place. If that receiver of the ravens doesnt drop that pass in the end zone he easily should have caught, then the ravens are the team playing the giants this weekend. The patriots havent played a REAL team in the playoffs yet,Now that they will be,they will lose.

No....then Tom Brady has more than a minute to drive down the field....and several time outs. Also, it wasn't a dropped....it was a defensed ball. Also, if Cundiff had made the field goal it would have gone to OT...where anything could have happened.

The Patriots might be the most disrespected 13-3 superbowl team ever. I don't think thw Giants will be an easy victory for the Patriots, but if both teams bring their A game, the Patriots will win.

I have to agree with this assessment. I think Brady has the potential to pick apart the Giants, using his TEs. Manning is turning out to be a (*)(*)(*)(*) good QB, but I don't think he can outgun Brady.

Plus, I'm tired of betting against the Pats and loosing.

Unfortunately, Gronkowski is hurt. If he is out, the Pats have no chance.

I suspect given Brady's experience and Manning's erratic hot and cold performance this season, that the Pats will win by at least 6.
Having said that I'm weary of the hype. Play the darn game already, they're reduced to interviewing the towel boy at this stage. It's a football game not brain surgery. In the immortal words of Flavor Flav, don't believe the hype.

What I really want to know of Tom Brady and Eli Manning?

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?

    ;)
