Questions, questions, everywhere I look, there are questions.
Teams with great or very good offense's, but questionable or even poor defense's - Packers, Giants, Saints & Patriots - Will they overcome?
The "Box of Chocolate Gang" - Flacco, Alex Smith, Yates, Tebow, the Falcons, Lions & Bengals - Does anybody know what we will get from this crew? I expect (ultimately) failure from most, but not all, of them.
Can the Steelers overcome their injuries? It wouldn't shock me if they made the Super Bowl. Or lose to the Broncos. Surprise me if either happens? Yes. Shock me? No.
Can the Saints win in the cold of Green Bay if/when it comes to that? The Giants or Niners, IMO, are more equipped to win in G.B., but I wouldn't be surprised if Atlanta beats my Giants & I expect New Orleans to beat Detroit & then San Fran.
    My picks:
    Bengals over Texans
    Saints over Lions
    Falcons over Giants
    Broncos over Steelers
The only pick I have any confidence in though, is N.O., and I wouldn't even count on them covering the spread(10.5).
    Saints over 49ers
    Patriots over Bengals
    Ravens over Broncos
    Packers over Falcons
I actually think the Falcons match up better with the Pack in G.B., rather than the fast indoor surface of the Georgia Dome. But I think Green Bay will find a way to win the game.
    Ravens over Patriots
    Packers over Saints
    &
cross my fingers and see if Flacco could lead (or not screw up, at least) the
    Ravens over the Packers
. But don't bet on any of this happening, 'cause I'm surely not gonna.

If my Texans get knocked out in the first round, I'm going to be really pissed off. Not because I necessarily expect them to go all the way with all the key players that are out but simply because they've lost the last three weeks in a row (and that loss to Indianapolois was inexcusable). It's like once they clinched a playoff spot, they just stopped playing. Kubiak needs to crack the whip and make sure those guys show up this week, or there are going to be a lot of really angry people in Houston. They've already overcome so much this season. There is no excuse for them to be playing like this. There is no shame in playing your heart out and getting beat at your best, but a playoff team finishing their season by tossing away the ball on a bad snap on the last play of the game is pathetic.

Really, the only reason I picked Cincy over your Texans is because I trust Dalton a little more than Yates. The two teams look pretty even to me & I guess the point spread reflects that (@ home Houston -3). Maybe when it became apparent the Texans weren't getting a top 2 position, they just shut it down. Considering the injuries & the history they made just making the playoffs, I wouldn't be too hard on 'em. But then again, I'm not a Texan fan either.

We'll see. Your Packers have their work cut out for them. You seriously don't think they're gonna breeze through do you?!

Not sure why you would pick Denver over Pittsburgh. Denver didn't beat a team with a winning record outside of week two when they squeezed by Cincy. And with a shaky QB like Tebow facing the number one overall defense in the NFL, I can't say I like Denvers chances at all.

I get what your sayin', but the Steelers haven't lit up the world this season either. They have 1 road win over a +.500 team(Cincy) & 4 wins total over +.500 teams(N.E., Tenn. & Cincy twice). They have a lot of injuries & historically, the Super Bowl loser from the season before struggles the following season, either during the season or in the playoffs. Now having said all that, it wouldn't surprise me if Pitt blows out the Broncos. But I'm going on a hunch (& maybe some wishful thinking). For what it's worth, I also am predicting my team, the Giants(I'm originally from Connecticut) to lose to the Falcons.

No I don't think that it will be easy for them, but I do think that they will win.

Honestly, I don't even trust Yates. I would have even been okay with Leinart if he had stayed healthy. But we've got a third string quarter back starting our first ever playoff appearance. :(

At least Andre should be back.

I think if we can re-sign Arian Foster, Wade Phillips, and hopefully Mario Williams and we can keep everybody healthy next year, we should be back in the playoffs with a much better chance of winning. But I am still proud of my team for making it this far considering all they've dealt with this year.

I think he's expecting a low scoring defensive battle, where Tebow pulls out a 4th qtr magic act out his ass at home vs a banged up Pitt team....but as much as like to see it, I dont think its happening either.

Dont let the sloppy Pats secondary fool you into thinking theyre not still the team to beat in the AFC. Im not seeing anyone who can go toe to toe w/ the O. The D give up big yards but once the field shrinks things get much tougher for opponents offenses. Also important to note the D is extremely opportunitistic. When they get chances to make plays, they do often turning into points for the O...and a decent pass rush. Id like to them blitz more and Im begging Belichek to come out next -week in the no huddle instead of waiting to go down 2 or 3 TDs before stepping things up. Coming back against a good defense will be much tougher. If theyre not willing to come out ,all out and put other teams in a hole Im worried. The weapons the Pats have a silly. A classic case of picking your poison.

    Pats and Packers.

    Pats win.

I am only going to pick the first round games as of now.

    Texans over Bengals

I know the Texans have QB problems and are on a slide, but I still think they are a better team overall and both have rookie QBs, so I then go with the better defense and running game, so I take the Texans.

    Saints over Lions

Agree with you. I think the Lions are still a year or 2 away from being real contenders, and I think the Saints will win.

    Giants over Falcons

This comes down to the fact that I trust Eli in the playoffs a lot more than Matt Ryan. Matt Ryan is a good QB, but has played significantly worse in the few playoff games he has been in, than in the regular season. I also think the Giants pass rush will give Ryan a lot of problems.

    Steelers over Broncos

I think your pick is idiotic to put it nicely. I would take Ben Roethlisberger with his leg amputated over Tim Tebow, and Pittsburgh is as good or better in every other facet of the game as well. Not only is my money on Pitt, but I expect them to win by multiple touchdowns.

I don't like predicting the playoffs until week 2, because I feel that I learn A LOT in the first week of the playoffs. So I don't know if that will happen or not. However, what I do know is that if that super bowl happens, I think it would be AMAZING!!

Especially if it comes off the back of a Saints vs Packers NFC championship game!!

I honestly don't think so. I think the Packers will lose. Either to the Saints, or whichever AFC team makes it to the Super Bowl(more likely the latter).

Denver will be annihilated. If they manage more than 10 points, that will be pretty good.

New Orleans will beat Detroit...but will get stomped the first time they have to play real football instead of arena football.

The NFC will be represented by Green Bay...the AFC is pretty much open. I can see the Steelers, Pats, or Ravens winning the conference.

Saints have no chance in Green Bay. If that's the NFC championship game, I'll take the Packers by 20.

You want to bet on that? Credits? I say if they play, and that is far from certain, I will give you the packers, and I will take the saints with 10 points. How does that sound?

Like a slam-dunk win for me. The Saints are an arena football team. Like most arena teams, the tend to wilt when playing in real football conditions. Extended forecast has temps next week in the mid-20's, which is actually mild by GB standards.

Pack by 20? Not with the Saint offense. If theres a weak spot on the Pack its their D this year. They give up points. For them to win by 3 TDs the score will need to be about 56-35.

check out my caricature of the playoffqbs at facebook caricature creator.
Saints, Lions, Pats, Packers and Steelers have top QBs, maybe the giants. but it looks like the pack and saints are the tops.
