Only 2 yrs and 8 months after he DELIBERATELY planted that 10 months old baby in the car and left her there to roast to death seems 'fair to you'?

No, what would be fair is for him to be strapped in a car and left to roast to death...... now that would be justice.

This was not an 'accident' - it was PLANNED, he knew what he was doing when he put her there to get her out of his hair so he could have fun... and he only got 2 yrs and 8 months. A walk in the park for murder.

And yet that has nothing to do with the topic.

Accident or not, 32 months is nowhere near sufficient enough.

This retard should've just enjoyed his freedom to smoke weed and have sex with other men, instead of living in lala land where homosexuals have children.

Legalize pot so more people can die at the negligent hands of societies failures.

Yeaaaa, sounds like a smart idea to me.

While I don't approve of gay foster parents or adoptions, as a criminal matter gay or straight, both parents should be serving 15 to life.

Yeah, I tho't of that b/f after I had posted..... why is he the only one who's being prosecuted when he had a partner and the 2 of them planned their cozy getaway from the kids together?

Can't believe they did this during Game of Thrones. It's more upsetting than finding out that John Snow is murdered by the Night's Watch after being made Lord Commander this season.

32 months is an entirely appropriate sentence for unintentional homicide. Seems like some people here are incapable of differentiating between homicide due to negligence and a much more serious charge of intentional murder. He does not deserve many years in prison, only a few.

take it up with the mods here because thread creation rules state that the thread title must match the article, which it does

    huh?

I know of none of my friends or family who have left a kid in the car like that. We had several children and never did that.

Parenting comes as second nature to most. Who knows, maybe parenting was just something that these homosexuals were trying, much like new paint in the living room.

Any proof/evidence of that assertion or just more homophobia?

I agree that it SHOULDN'T happen, but sad truth is, it does happen more than we like to admit to. Accidents happen (didn't you see the progressive ad on the Superbowl? )

miscomunication and break in routine are huge issues. When mom usually drives Jr to daycare, but dad has to one day. Routine is probably a huge thing. I got talking on the phone one night, and drove to my old house (2 blocks away from my new house) just out of habit and routine.... Breaking a routine is bad. That also doesn't mean there isn't some sort of neglect going on.... but I'm sure there are plenty of parents who have had something bad happen unintentionally (ie - murder)

So the jury would convict for murder if that is the case.

Yep. You think all the other murders, crime, and overcrowded jails due to pot are worth having pot stay illegal?

    Why do you hate freedom?

I hate freedom for baby killers.

Why do you support high-on baby killers?

I'm not sure I see evidence that legalizing pot means cases like this would increase, nor decrease. Was pot to blame? Do all pot smokers intentionally kill their foster children? Do alcoholics never neglect any children? Remorse and being willing to rehabilitate from drug abuse (legal or not) might have influenced the sentencing. Might had just been some liberal on the bench.

    btw...
    DUI has always been illegal.
I drink at BBQ, I don't need some dumb ass advert telling me I can't drink/drive to get the propane. And I've grilled drunk before - what a hoot.

So, your friends and family fully encompasses all of the U.S. Strange.

It happens. About 35 times a year in the U.S., and it has nothing to do with gay people, even though that is your pet topic.

    Those are facts, yes.

There is no pot involved in this case:
    http://www.floridatoday.com/story/n...ot-car-makes-first-court-appearance/11208479/

And no pot in this case:
    http://edition.cnn.com/2014/08/04/us/north-carolina-parents-charged-in-hot-car-death/

    In fact, http://www.kidsandcars.org/heatstroke.html ,says:
"On average, 38 children die in hot cars each year from heat-related deaths after being trapped inside motor vehicles. Even the best of parents or caregivers can unknowingly leave a sleeping baby in a car; and the end result can be injury or even death."

The evidence would suggest that pot is not the driving factor in a case like this. This isn't about drugs - trying to make it so negates and lessens the irresponsibility of the parent. Pot is not the excuse for this problem. This is about neglect, regardless of what you are doing during the time.
