How in the world did you not think it was bad in the first place? Erdogan..Obama's buddy, shooting a Russian plane down lying that it violated their airspace? These scummy cowards shot and killed the pilot as he was parachuting down.

Vis.....I hope to GOD that Russia's security forces will stop them but the ISIS has entered Russia and they intend to carry out terrorist attacks.

There needs to be an IMMEDIATE MEETING between the U.S., Russia and NATO to resolve this crisis....NOW!

Before things get out of hand.

Above Alpha, there should have been reasons why there was no response. For example, the communication quality was bad or something else. It is indeed unfortunate and to my mind not adequate action of Turkey, even if the plane crossed the border inside for couple kilometers, for the plane- its is just several seconds. Turkey should at least apologize for that.

Yes but the gold ole U. S of A. still cuddles with Turkey and we know why. Of course Turkey downed the Russian plane. Turkey's Erdogan plus U.S.'s Obama want Assad to be removed or killed. They know Putin's agenda: keeping Assad and destroying ISIS. Erdogan needs to be brought up on war crimes for killing Kurds and also B.O. for aiding and arming ISIS. You can see how well the talks with Hollande went today. Hollande was wanting U.S. to work with them and Russia.after the Paris attacks.

This is what happened just a week ago.

The Turkish government summoned the Russian ambassador and told him that Turkey would no longer tolerate Russian and Syrian aircraft crossing into Turkish airspace and bombing Turkomen in a few towns within Turkey and this has happened.

The NSA, U.S. Military CENTCOM as well as NATO and U.S. Space Command have all confirmed the Russian aircraft entered Turkish airspace and was repeatedly....for 12 minutes...asked to respond and leave Turkish airspace and it was ordered to turn around on a specific heading.

    The Russian aircraft did not.

Both pilots ejected....Syria is claiming one Russian pilot died....but the NSA disputes this and I hope he is OK.

Turkey violated international law and committed a criminal act of aggression, so of course Washington will support Turkey.

I do not think so. From now on, all the bombers will be accompanied by jet fighters. So in case, if anyone tries to attack them, they will get in return back missiles.

So the question I would have is why did Turkey shoot down the Russian jet? I get that they strayed into Turkish airspace and Turkey had a right to warn them and maybe even shoot them down. But just because they could do it why would they?

Obviously the Russian jet was not a threat to Turkey. Russia is fighting on the same side as the US against ISIS for the same reason - they've been targeted by ISIS.

I really am not a Putin fan but in this case I think he's right to be angry.

At 06:00 mark, Putin is putting out a public statement that he is fully aware President Obama and President Erdogan support the Islamic State and ISIS. War crimes anyone?

The important thing here is for everyone to calm down and make sure this doesn't happen again.

There is no question the Russian Military aircraft was in Turkish airspace so the question is why would a Russian Su-24 crew be stupid enough to refuse to turn around and head back to Syria when it had a few Turkish F-16's on it's A$$?

All the Russian crew had to do is acknowledge the F-16 pilots and even if the Su-24's communications were out the Russian pilots would have absolutely known that the F-16's had a missile lock on them.

So why didn't the Su-24 turn around????

This has the makings of someone in the Russian GRU trying to test the will of a NATO Nation.

This kind of test is INSANE!!!

There are extremists elements in Turkey who support the ISIS.

But no matter what Russia cannot fly military aircraft into a NATO nations airspace.

Putin should have discussed this with Obama and then something could have been worked out.

    This move is IDIOCY!!!

And I don't even think Putin ordered this.

Putin has to pretend he did now because it would be worse if people though Putin was not in control of his own Military.

The vast majority as you know of Russian air strikes have been upon the FSA...not the ISIS or Al-Nusra.

Assad's spies have better intel on FSA positions than Putin has.

Assad is dictating where to strike.

I thought maybe this incident in Turkey might be a way for NATO to force Russia to back away from their base in Syria?

Thus allowing Russia a face saving way to step away from the edge of the mess they got themselves into?
