Heck, "Murder" was always illegal and we see how well that one goes. Banning guns will fare no better with the criminal element. The only people that will be effected are the law abiding citizens who would be made defenseless...but thats likely the real goal anyway. An unarmed, defenseless slave population.
Let me see here, this is a tough one. Should we ban "assault weapons" and penalize innocent people who never did anything wrong, or should we stop importing into this country people who would go jihad on us with them? I need to think about this and get back to you guys.
We've made assault rifles illegal in a state to prevent this very thing. Assault rifle was used in that state. Solution? Make assault rifles illegal in every state, that will stop this very thing. Thats some logic for you right there folks.

Passing a law that would make the death penalty automatic for anyone using a pistol or rifle of any sort in the commission of a crime would do more to stop all the gun violence than anything else. Requiring a certain percentage of teachers in public schools to be trained in the use of weapons and required to be armed whilst teaching would also go a long way to prevent all sorts of violence in the schools.....along with making it a felony for any student to attack a teacher. Encouraging law abiding citizens to arm themselves would also be big help...along with offering rewards for any citizen that uses their weapon to stop a felon.
I like it but I don't know about the reward part. In my opinion that would create too many vigilantes and we really don't need that. People take advantage of too many things as it is, and that stipulation could be used very very wrongly . Also I would like to throw in that buying, selling or having a gun on you illegally is a minimum of 25 years in the slammer automatic and no early release.
