Why doesn't the GOP support Trump?

I'm thinking about all the gravy trains that would dry up if a Pres. Trump implements bidding for the pharmaceuticals which this fool country is currently getting raped for; Taxing the Fords & Nabiscos 35% when their Mexican-made products are strolled over the border; Giving a big "I don't need or WANT your $$$" to the monopolizing insurance Co's who the current puppets stay on their knees for ...

I'd be scared (*)(*)(*)(*)less if I was them. No wonder this Puppet is so strung out!! Poor guy's acting like he's on drugs or something http://www.cbsnews.com/live/video/super-tuesday-charlie-rose-interviews-marco-rubio/

PS: Any theories on why these interviewers don't bring up Corinthian Colleges?

I'm not a Trump supporter but having him in the race, actually leading the Republican race, makes me wonder what the true qualifications might be to be POTUS?

Our status quo politicians, no matter which party they are from, just seem to be business as usual regarding the military, wars, budget, infrastructure, government assistance programs, education, SS, etc. etc. I suppose each voter will prioritize these areas differently, but no matter what we desire in our tiny self-serving worlds, there are certain things which absolutely needs to be done each day no matter the bickering. Any adult with an IQ over 40 knows we should move towards balancing the budget! The reason we don't have many Americans with an IQ over 40 is because of our dismal and failing public education system. I agree the US must have the strongest military in the world but we need to be smarter about how we achieve this. Wars...IMO wars are a sign of complete failure...if the USA is involved in wars and fighting this means we are failing...it's time to stop failing. No single person I've ever known has the experience and knowledge to run a military, know when to fight wars, knows how to balance budgets, knows how to rebuild the infrastructure, knows in depth the government assistance programs, or knows how to design a world-class public education system...this person does not exist!! Does being a US Senator qualify a person for all of this...no. Does being a State Governor qualify a person for all of this...no. Does being a heavy duty business person qualify a person for all of this...no. Does someone from the military qualify a person for all of this...no. Are any of these qualifications more important than others...not really. So, based on my perspective as spelled out here, I want a president who desires to win, desires to make the USA better than it is, and who will surround themselves with the best and brightest talent in each of these areas. I know a president has very limited power so it is also imperative to have a president who can build consensus instead of division.

I wouldn't personally worry about Trump becoming POTUS even though I do not support him...

Regarding the bold above, nearly everything you own came from outside of the USA and most of it will never be produced again in the USA.

And, all companies, no matter where they are located, on sales/income derived in the USA, are subject to all applicable corporate taxes...

I am curious what establishment repubs (repubs who won't vote for trump) will vote for as far as the vacant spot in the supreme court if Trump wins the nomination. Will you surrender your republican vote to make sure that a Democrat handles it, or will you vote to have a republican handle it?

This election will be wild. And we still have to wait and see what happens in the primary.

The GOP elected majority is scared to death that Trump will be their candidate. This risks 25 years of GOP gains at every level of Government. There has not been such a divisive candidate since Goldwater. Chances appear very good that if Trump is the nominee, a lot of traditional GOP voters will simply set this one out. If the GOP stays home, what happens to House and Senate Republicans? GOP State and local candidates? Both GOP and Democratic ballot initiatives? If Trump crashes as hard as expected, he could well take the rest of the party down with him.
