FBI Reviewing New Email

By and large, I think so. I certainly feel there is a better chance of the Democrats protecting and expanding safety net programs I support than Republicans.

I think the Republicans who are supporting Hillary Clinton in this race (or supporting a third party candidate)...are putting the nation before party. I think Donald Trump is an horrendous candidate...and I dread the consequences of him being elected president. I suspect that is what is motivating them...not leftist tendencies.

Something of this magnitude coming from the FBI at this point in a national election...seems to be unprecedented. Nothing like it has happened during my time of following politics...that really began while Harry S Truman was in office.

It should not have happened...and I wish Comey hadn't done it.

But it is done...and I expect Hillary and her staff to handle it as best they can.

We'll see what happens.

Comey may not know what exactly is in the emails but someone in the FBI certainly does. The team that has been looking at the laptop has had plenty of time to review the emails, and they were the ones who informed Comey what they have found. Clearly Comey believes the new information warranted an unprecedented statement to the public just days before a major election. I doubt Comey would have done that if there wasn't enough evidence that he felt forced to stick his neck out like he did.

He knows what is this information, he had a duty to alert the Congress, he cannot release the evidence in an ongoing investigation.

To the latter Hillary knows this and that her demand the evidence be released is an empty demand made to make her look innocent of any wrong doing. You didn't fall for that did you?

 

I understand completely what is going on here. The misuse of classified information was investigated by the FBI for over a year and they did not find any criminality. I am sure that the reason Hillary set up her own server was because of the history of snoops digging into her affairs for decades and she wanted control of her communications to prevent leaks. People have been sniffing up her ass for decades in attempts to destroy her and her husband politically. The FBI at the urging of her political enemies has spent thousands of man hours investigating her communications and decided that there was not any criminality involved. Then, criminals and agents of a foreign government began stealing personal communications from several of her cohorts and are now releasing them in an obvious attempt to get Trump elected. Mind you, none of these thieves and foreign agents have leaked anything about Trump's sleazy dealings or foreign entanglements. It all smells pretty bad to me. It is as if the GOP is afraid to run a campaign on the issues but rather are consorting with criminals and foreign spies in an attempt to arrest and remove their competition.

 

Versus covering it up?

 

Any Demo donating money to Clinton and that is in those Depts.....Obstructed. Its either hit the ranks of Unemployment or be Charged.

Yes the winning party does get to clean house.....that's what the investigations will be for.

I can totally get a real progressive being an independent in order to vote for more pure progressive candidates, like a Jill Stein, but at this point, if you are going to vote for crooked Hillary, who most progressives agree isn't a progressive, even with her baggage of criminality, than you really aren't a progressive, you are a partisan Democrat.

He probably only knows that there were emails on the device from Mrs. Weiner to the Secretary of State whom she worked for and was a good freind of. They need a warrant to open and read these emails. My guess is that there is nothing there and that Comey will be pressured into holding a press conference early next week to confirm just that. If there were anything damaging on that lap top it would have been destroyed long before now. Enjoy your delusions...

He said if it were anyone else, you or I for instance, they'd have to face consequences. So what he read off a list of what she'd done? What good did it do? That is the issue. She got off. You may want to look back at his support of them in the 90s onwards.

 

The FBI director has broken his own decades old code of non interference in election politics for some reason. I would hope this is not an attempt to sway things toward his own affiliation but, it certainly seems that way. Hi own boss recommended against this action and he di it anyway....likely he will be replaced for it.

 

What happens if she's not found to have violated any laws and as such not indicted? Then what?

 

My guess is the FBI sent out a very brief "we are investigating again because of what we found on the weinerman computers" note, so the big bunch of immature whiners supporting Trump do not go apecrap about it after the election.

My guess is a Hillary Clinton presidency will be like the Carter and Bill Clinton presidencies- constant attacks with no real substance, and impeachment trials wasting time and money for something personal that was not an act of treason against the US whatsoever [not like attacking Afghanistan and Iraq because of a few mostly Saudi terrorists].

Notice that the Gore supporters were very quiet in 2000- they accepted the corrupt Supreme Court vote and corrupt Florida results, since a bunch of whining and trials about it were not good for our country.

I most assuredly am NOT a partisan Democrat...as the totally Democratic council and mayor of my home town would happily attest to.

I do not consider Hillary to be particularly crooked. I see her as an intelligent, competent, capable, super qualified candidate who, in my opinion, is MUCH, MUCH preferable to the opponent. I see her as a person who has withstood the relentless scorn and contempt heaped upon her by people who are not nearly her equal.

Jill Stein, in my opinion, is a monumental ego (as was Ralph Nader)...endlessly running for an office she can never obtain. I do not see her as heroic...I see her as a sort of sad individual.

 

It's republicans who said if it were somebody else they would have been prosecuted. Pretty sure Comey said no reasonable prosecutor would bring a case, and then called her careless. If you have a link to the contrary, feel free to share it.
