Pink cat-ear hats are becoming the latest fashion trend among women across the country. So much so that it's sparked a run on pink yarn.

The sudden popularity in the shade is due to the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)hat Project, a national effort to flood the nation's capital with women wearing pink cat-ear hats at the Women's March on Washington on Jan. 21.

The project's goal is to make a visual statement on the first day of President-elect Donald Trump's administration to show that women stand united when it comes to protecting their rights, said the project's co-founder, Jayna Zweiman.

I have been following the organization of this march for weeks, and I was intending to go mself. Again, at no time did I see a single mention of the Democratic party, the DNC or any specific liberal group. Nor was I asked by any Democratic elected officials either personally (and, yes I know a lot of elected officials), or online to support or attend this event.

So far, the Carnival Barker in Chief does not seem to understand two fundamental things.

The campaign is over and so is the election.

He is now an elected official, and taking things personally as an elected official will only get you in trouble.

Trump starts his job with a 40% approval rating (or less in some polls).

I expect that if he keeps going the way he is, his numbers will drop below 30% within six months. Approval ratings always drop after inaugurals and the reality and the hard work become apparant. Trump has no real plan, but has made a series of gestures designed to pander to the audience that brung him. He does not seem to recognize any part of the rest of the world, much less the rest of the country

Nor does he seem to understand that saying one thing one day, and another thing the next does not insure trust or loyalty. People have expectations, even the authoritarian Trumpsters. All bluster all the time works when you're running a reality TV show, Not a country.

You're just repeating a false claim. We have the video. He was not in the company of his inner circle, for friends. He was out in public, being photographed for a television appearance, and surrounded by PR flacks.

I do not believe that it all grew from a Facebook post - that was just the final invitation once groundwork was laid.
