I support a thorough investigation regarding the findings of the FBI, CIA, and NSA that Putin conspired to assist Trump in the campaign. The integrity of the US democratic process is essential.

Further, as a distinct and disparate matter entirely, I support Congress appointing an independent, Watergate-type commission to analyze your messiah's peculiar tweets.

 

From what I've read, Trump's "evidence" are an original FISA court request which was rejected (last June) and a revised FISA court request which was approved (in October).

I'd expect there to also be physical evidence at the premises as it is claimed the FISA requests involved servers operated by 2 Russian banks at the Trump Tower.

FISA court records are classified and may not be lawfully published, so Trump can't (or shouldn't) simply give these out for media dissemination, the physical evidence (if any) likely require some expert describe the devices and installations.

If Trump does have evidence he must produce it, but I'm not sure this is of the sort the public can review and discuss online.

Citizens need to adjust to a new reality where media is unreliable. When I was a teenager, living in Spain under Franco, I figured it was simple; just average the greatest and lowest figures for a protest's participants, the casualties of some conflict or tons of intercepted cod. This average would more accurately reflect reality than the boas inherent in media's differing agenda.

Later, living in the US it seemed media bias was more subtle, I relied on good vocabulary to discern distortions in the adjectives of characterization. Things have deteriorated, before major media depended on market share for advertising revenue, they couldn't misrepresent excessively as this would lose them readership and hence the price they could demand advertisers. Now, with internet, major media has lost audience, advertising is mostly online, periodicals struggle to survive. Online media has much lower capital investment, fewer costs and can easily garner large audiences, but they do so catering to what the public wants rather than the truth.

Now one needs to filter through a source's expected bias based on it's targetted audience and compare that. We expect Trump's 3am "Twitter Fits" to be portrayed as rants of a madman in CNN, and as scandalous revelations on Breitbart. In reality we have a plausible suspicion Obama did tap Trump's campaign communications, but the magnitude of this perfidy is not likely what Trump suggests.

I think Obama was advised of suspected Russian money contributing to Trump's campaign and thus had Russian banks with premises at Trump Tower monitored. If there was anything damning we would have heard about it long ago. That's all there is.

If we've learned anything about Trump, it's that he doesn't make such accusations without some sort of backup. That's why liberals are in meltdown rage mode over this...

 

What I want and EXPECT are FACTS and rock-solid PROOF.

We have gotten NO proof of any demonstrable kind from anyone supporting the theory that "Russia hacked the election for Trump".

But, in fairness, so far, we have gotten NO proof from the Trump Admn. that Obama illegally wiretapped the Trump campaign.

From both camps I want FACTS and PROOF. Everything else is (how can I put this delicately...?)... BULLSHIT!

 

I don't agree with this. The birth certificate is proof of his willingness to legitimize baseless conspiracy theory as factual.

The problem with "Obamagate" is that it's going to cut Trump either way. If the Obama FBI/CIA ordered a wiretap, they had a legitimate reason for doing so, and if it was to investigate the Russia ties, then that proves the Democrats right. Loss for Trump.

If there is no wiretap and Trump is going off the deep end on some rabid conspiracy from Bitefart news, then we have another serious issue. Trump would be leveling unfounded charges at a past president. What's the penalty for that? I know that he could be sued for defamation.

What happens then? He really put himself in a horrible position by tweeting this stuff at 3:30am.
