The American people had NO say in this.. This is an arbitrary decision by Trump alone and he's a dummy when it comes to the ME or Israel.

That’s fine, but the article you linked did (as most of them do) take something completely out of context to make it appear as Trump is backtracking on something.

In this case President Trump has done the right thing -- Jerusalem is an eternal capital of Jewish people. I am Jewish.

Tell me, are you rooting against Israel and/or the United States? Or maybe you're just rooting for a state that supports terrorists, cold blooded murderers and suicide bombers? Heck, they pay the families of suicide bombers - these are barbarian savages you're rooting for.

In the 1960s, there was a bumper sticker that read, "Get the US out of the UN; and get the UN out of the US."

I am entirely in favor of this.

The UN is a post-WWII construction, that was supposed to put an end--forever!--to the institution of military conflict.

Currently, I think there are about 135 wars going on, across the globe.

So the UN has been a major failure.

I would suggest that the US should (1) cut off all funding to this failed institution; (2) leave the institution entirely; and (3) give the UN 60 days to relocate--in some other country.

And yes, I am entirely serious.

Since there is a binding resolution that not all of Jerusalem is not part of Israel.
Hence claiming all of Jerusalem is part of Israel, is a violating that UN resolution.
That resolution also calls upon all countries to remove all diplomatic ties from Jerusalem.
    Since Israel violates it.

I'm not rooting for anyone, I was just stating the fact that the world called Trump's bluff.

What makes you think he was bluffing?
What makes you think the UNGA vote has any meaning?

And why should Jews in this country care what the christers think or say

When the UN voted overwhelmingly on Thursday, Dec. 21, to condemn the Trump Administration’s decision to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel without in any way acknowledging that any peace agreement with Palestinians must include recognition of Jerusalem as ALSO the capital of a future Palestinian state, the “Israel is always right and its policies must be given 1000% support” voices of most of the mainstream Jewish (and Christian evangelical) movements congratulated Trump. Of course Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, but it should also be recognized as the capital of the Palestinian people and will be eventually the capital of a Palestinian state, no matter how many decades it takes for Israel to reconcile with the Palestinians in a spirit of generosity and open-heartedness appropriate to a state that calls itself “the state of the Jewish people.”

We, on the other hand, congratulate the United Nations for taking this stand. We also give credit to the Reform movement for not joining with the rest of the Jewish establishment on the Jerusalem issue (all the more credit to them after I learned when I spoke at a Reform temple recently that many of the rank-and-file disagree with their national leadership and want them to be more uncritically supportive of whatever Israel does).

Tikkun is the one nationally and internationally known intellectual and spiritual magazine that gives voice to Jewish progressives and our interfaith allies–and has championed Palestinian rights, insisting that the Jewish people must become champions of social justice not only on every other issue, but also when it comes to dealing with Israeli treatment of Palestinians, refugees, bedouin communities, the rights of women and glbtq, and the rights of Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist and Renewal Judaism in Israel. It’s not a position that gives us access to much money–many American Jews are “liberal or progressive on everything but Israel.” And, of course, we’ve been actively challenging the racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism and xenophobia that have become much more prominent in the Trump years, and doing our best to expose how destructive the Trump Administration policies have been.

Well, and I'm not clear on why Lefties convey such moral superiority to the will the UN.

The following U.N. members support "honor killing" of teen girls who go out with "unapproved" boys.

    Saudi Arabia
    Qatar
    Sudan
    Other Arab Gulf States

These U.N. members use executed criminals for their body parts.

    China

These U.N. members fail to prosecute crimes against women and children by Muslim men, including rape and disfigurement:

    Germany
    Sweden
    Britain
    France

These U.N. members maintain death camps with hundreds of thousands of innocent victims:

    North Korea
    Burma

These U.N. members collude in widespread kidnapping, slavery, sexual victim traffic, and slave markets:

    Turkey

These U.N. members want to destroy the USA with nuclear weapons:

    Iran
    North Korea

These U.N. members fail to protect Christians, Yazidis, Jews, Hindus, and others for purely religious reasons:

    Syria
    Egypt
    Pakistan

These U.N. members fail to protect young boys from homosexual kidnapping and violent rape:

    Afghanistan

These U.N. members quietly allow genocide-preaching through the mass media and imams.

    Germany
    Sweden
    Spain
    Italy
    Jordan
    Egypt

These U.N. members support ideological world conquest "by peaceful means."

    The European Union.

These U.N. members openly practice racism against whites:

    South Africa
    Congo

These U.N. members keep their people in poverty, tyranny, corruption, and ill health.

    Most African states

Guess who is not on any of these lists? The US and Israel. No wonder we get along so well.

Other than it's US law, passed in 1995 with 93 US Senators in support. It's none of the UN's business where we put our Embassy, that is between Israel and US.

Hey Trump, and Nikki Haley: The Americans did not vote for a Trump/Haley World Dictatorship,

There may be a reactionary Nationalist Populist sentiment at the current time, but that does NOT mean we have to disband the UN or disrespect other sovereign nations many of whom ARE OUR ALLIES.

So Please stop embarrassing us, the voters who voted your Republican party into power again, or else, suffer the consequences in 2018.

This message brought to you, by SkullKrusher, just 1 of some 350 million Americans, but 1 whom has been watching US Presidents F UP since JFK got assassinated.

I love Tikkun and have been reading it for years

    Mr Trump missed an opportunity
He should have Saud that the US recognises East Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and left it at that
That would have been a heck of a statement.
