Elizabeth Warren refuses DNA test to prove Native American heritage

WASHINGTON – Sen. Elizabeth Warren batted down calls for her to take a DNA test to prove her Native American heritage in an interview that aired Sunday.

“I know who I am. And never used it for anything. Never got any benefit from it anywhere,” Warren said of her ancestry on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

The Massachusetts Democrat has been under increased pressure to provide evidence of her Native American roots, with President Trump repeatedly mocking her as “Pocahontas” as recently as Saturday.

An editorial this month in Massachusetts’s Berkshire Eagle urged Warren to buy a DNA test for $99 to resolve the issue once and for all.

“All the senator needs to do is spit into a tube, wait a few weeks and get her answer,” the paper said.

Asked whether she’d take an ancestry test, Warren said she wants to hold onto the folklore of her parents’ love story.

Lolz it looks like Elizabeth Warren is unwilling to provide evidence of her native American heritage, despite genetic testing being readily available.

Trump rightly mocked her for this and it appears he's correct.



So she is declining to prove her claim, and saying she wants to hold onto a myth.

I'd say Trump won this exchange.

I've said from here out, the Dems will only be running women or minorities, and preferably both.

Elizabeth warren is apparently out as a minority.

I think Warren should release her DNA test. And I think Trump should release his tax forms ... which do you think is more likely to happen?

The IRS is conducting an audit of his tax returns as they have done in the past and I have heard of no wrongdoing found. How about the CDC do an audit of Warren's DNA?

Warren never promised to release her DNA test results, so she might be a liar. Trump said he would release his tax forms. He did not. So we know which one lied for sure.

 

The IRS finished the audit months ago. Trump said he would release his taxes when they finished. He did not. He is as big a liar as Warren.

I think the original post is silly, but to answer the question, I would expect with, not ahead or behind.

 

Really post their announcement that they found no wrondoing and in the meantime lets have a government audit Warrens DNA to make sure she engaged in no wrongdoing.

 

Anyone around Warren can easily get some of her DNA and do a genetic test. It's silly for this to have gone on as long as it has.

 

It's OK to lie in politics these days, remember the saying, "I did not have relations with Monica."

 

That could put them in legal jeopardy if they did so and even more so if they released any findings to the public.

Neither. And with respect to Warren it doesn't matter. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, has webbed feet, and quacks, it is a duck. To put it another way Warren looks 100% white. To claim to be a minority and get a set aside job is something I would think liberals would find despicable. Apparently not.

 

She makes me feel so stupid. I have high cheek bones just like Pocahantas, but I didn't claim American Indian ancestry in college to get benefits.
