Well, stay comfy in your cocoon. But be aware. It may seem to be all about you... But it isn't.

    Arkansas works?

Nice low blows. Trump is still your president though.

I live in the beautiful Ozark mountains. It’s easy living in paradise. Obviously you’ve never explored Arkansas.

I have zero reason to lie. You don’t want it to be true.

he was referring to the public option vs your private insurer, we never got the public option, so there was no choice to make, he never guaranteed your insurer or employer woudl never change plans on you, he could not do that, common sense

most people wish we had a public option

insurance costs did not rise as much under Obama, they are rising more now that Trump destroyed the ACA

to be honest with you, I have not paid that close of attention, as my employer does not change it much any year

I wonder if that poster knows what he paid before and what he pays now

Iowa at one time had a rainy day fund when Branstad was governor the first time. When he retired the first time Vilsack and Culver spent money like drunken sailors.

Well, Trump promised in his campaign that he would create a healthcare system that would be great and cover everyone with excellent healthcare for a fraction of the cost. I am all for it and I hope that after this Russia/Stormy/McDougal/Cohen/Avenatti crap is over and he is still around that he will deliver by crafting some kind of bi partisan bill to make that happen. The best way to do that is to support a kind of single payer, Medicare for all system which would have a huge pool and cut the insurance grifters off at the knees. That would cut administrative costs down from the almost 20% being bilked by the HMO creeps who never helped or healed anyone to about 1%-2% that Medicare spends on administrative costs. Now that would be something. MAGA!!!

The ACA was created by the " Gang of 6 " 3 Dems and 3 Republicans. In fact Repubs attached 190 Amendments to the Law.

It has grown even more popular with many states opting for medicare expansion lately

Trump has greatly increased the cost with his attempts to undercut

We elect Presidents to make America better.............. not just destroy

Trump is good at Sound Bites and Reality TV

Poorly advised? hahahahaha. come on! So President Trump was poorly advised by the Republican party that they had a plan too. So...both obama and PResident Trump are idiots? i think the real people who are the idiots are the American people who believed this BS, that they would basically get something free.

BUT BUT BUT!.....Obama nearly destroyed America, with his focus on socialism! I prefer Trump any day of the month. Remember, nothing is free in life! unless you are a liberal or snowflake who thinks that is the case.

You don't know anything about inheritance taxes at all. That's obvious.

If you did, you'd know that there was NO federal inheritance tax on an estate worth five million. Not only that , but the asset could be passed to a spouse tax free.

    Honestly?

As a foreigner, I just sit back and read articles and threads like this one here and just shake my head. Why?
That's exactly what you Americans want, which is why you have condemned every Obamacare Obamacare and why I can only grin about the icy crocodile tears that are cried here!

You have by far the most expensive servitude system in the world .... the most expensive for yourself as far as the contributions are concerned (more than double than in my country) and the most expensive in terms of costs!
Umd with this system fall out of you almost 16% of citizens, ie they have no insurance and are dependent on "welfare". And the rest of the citizens depend on well-being and woe of the insurance companies that their employer dictates or who choose themselves. Being ill, especially being chronically ill, is a luxury in the US ...

And no ... I'm not going to tell you now that our social security system has been functioning well for the past 70 years, the bottom line, because I know that the evil is socialist for you and looks like a red cloth, though we do it is not.

So I leave you the pure US theme, lean back and read the comments with a grin! :)

Well, that was about 20 million less than when he started.

We're still waiting for the Republican proposal to replace the ACA. We've been waiting for eight years

I have stated many times that there ain't no free lunch.. Here is the deal on how insurance works. This basically holds true for just about every type of insurance but Inwill address health insurance. Insurance is the spreading of the risk among a large population of insures. Health insurance just like all insurance ineeds to have to pay out less than it takes in. How do we do this ? You need more healthy lives than those who will be using medical services on a heavy basis. Who used more medical services ? Answer : older people, women, young children.and of course people who have conditions that require medical care before they become insurers. So the concept is that the younger and the healthier souls pay more in than they use so they are needed to spread the costs. Women cost more because of their plumbing and the fact that a large number of them have a habit of getting themselves pregnant and produce children who cost money to deliver and produce.n
Insurance companies stopped being allowed to charge woman more for
health coverage so we had to charge everyone more to cover loses from women. Older people cost more also butbwe are no longer allowed to charge geezers more.

So the idea was to set up a penalty to forced more people including the younger healthier ones to pay for the less healthier ones.m

The employer provided group health plans worked even though they also had sickos but remember that the employers provided part of the funding for health plans as a benefit or better said a cost of employing workers.

The ACA was supposed to be able to to provide enough subsidies to mimic the employer contributions.

That was the bad advice that Obama was given because actuarially that does not work and not enough healthies signed up because itvwas cheaper to pay the penalty than purchase the insurance.

Do you see the concept? Insurance of all types ( virtually all) is based on the collective large group the majority who do not make claims or very very small ones pays for the minority?

    Sounds like socialism, right?

Take home owners insurance. We all buy it but only a small minority actually have c.claims. True no one wants to have their place burn down, right? But those of us who do not have claims pay for those who do, right?

    Sounds like socialism, right?

    It is amazing,isn't it.

These people actually vigorously defend a system that costs twice as much as any other health care on the planet, does not produce outstanding results, and leaves a large part of the population extremely exposed.

The really want to live in a world of confusing jargon, astronomical prices, poor choices, and high individual risk.

They want to remain stuck in a world of limited options (options almost always dicated by someone else) co pay, deductibles, in "network" vs out of network, and all the confusing and often arbitrary joss that is unique to the US and to the US alone.

Yep ... but I'll do the hell and get involved in this purely American thing and more than this comment:

"You want it that way, because everything else is so bad socialist for you, then you have it too! So live with it and do not complain or change it!"

    ;-)

I am an American, and I lead back and read the comments with a grin! People in America, think everything should be free for them, normally majority of these people, are those who do not want to work and make a contribution. Supposedly, if you want to believe the numbers, 43% do not pay federal income tax. this is ridiculous. everyone should have some "skin" in the game. Our economy is very good now, and anyone 18-55, which no minor children at home, should be working. if they need new skills, then there are many government handouts to assist them. If after they are trained and still do not want to work, allow them and their families to starve. Thank you.
