The economic theory that cutting taxes brings in additional tax revenue is once again proven. Changing the subject to spending is just an attempt to avoid that fact.

    LOL

When something receives bi-partisan support, it's a lie to claim it's a Republican policy.

    Even Jesus would agree.

We saw this coming for the past 2 years. The Republicans came up with a massive tax cut which disproportionately went to corporate America and the upper 1% of Americans and then argue that the only way to solve it is by cutting Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. This is not a spending problem, this is a revenue problem. We cut taxes during a period of economic growth and we did not share it with all of the American people. That's how we got to this point and the only way to get out of it is to reverse it.

We're going into a trillion dollars in debt. We don't have a good educational system being paid for, we don't have a modern infrastructure, we're not modernizing our science labs. What we're getting for all this debt it is a tax cut for privileged Americans.

Then how do you take away their salaries when you need that money back because times get lean? You would be better off hiring short term contractors (assuming you have work for them to do) and use the money there.

You can't just keep giving raises every time the company has money, the company itself needs it.

gawd....I mean, they'd rather lie, spin and spew propaganda than tell the truth. leftists think their audience/constituents/YOU are fcking stupid.

Record tax revenue collected means the deficit is a function of spending.

When Obama came to power the economy was at it's low point and as it recovered of course tax revenue recovered with it. As the economy languished in Obama's second term so did tax revenues. Trump's tax cuts lit a fire and dwarfed Obama's last quarter returns. Democrats predicted tax cuts would do just the opposite so who was right here, them or Trump?

    Bush tax cuts were 2001 & 2003

    Revenue
    • FY 2005 - $2.15 trillion.
    • FY 2004 - $1.88 trillion.
    • FY 2003 - $1.72 trillion.
    • FY 2002 - $1.85 trillion.
    • FY 2001 - $1.99 trillion.
    • FY 2000 - $2.03 trillion.
    • FY 1999 - $1.82 trillion.
    2001-2003 saw a sharp decline

    https://www.thebalance.com/current-u-s-federal-government-tax-revenue-3305762

Only by 2005 did revenue recover (and still lacking if you compare to economic growth)

Fact is bush 43 barely increased revenue: from 2.03trillion to 2.16 trillion by 2009 . "explosion" LMAO

No, it is not a lie. When a policy is recommended by one political party and it is enacted almost exclusively by that one party, then the policy is accurately attributed to that one political party.

Do you consider Obamacare to be a democratic policy? It has, after all, earned support from several Republicans.

Thats simply not true, tax revenue troughout his 8 years kepy going up.

His second term for example 2.45->3.27trillion or 25% increase thats 6+% yearly. A lot higher then the increase trump is getting and that is WITH the tax cuts you claim have been pushing up the revenue.

Simple fact is trump is lacking in growing the revenue and is ballooning the deficit by lowering income and increasing expenses.

LOL its not better afterwards :

    Bush tanked the economy remember?

The bush tax cuts were a gift to the rich and a disaster for the country. The trump tax cuts were modeled on them and so far they are repeating the pattern.

    Ah shoot the messenger.

Facts remain what they are bush 43 had low economic growth, caused one of the biggest recesion and drove up the deficit in record numbers.

And yes income inequality was bigger then ever, bush made sure he rewarderd his rich donors for getting him elected by getting them some nice juicy tax cuts.

Bush warned of the housing crisis as far back as 2003. Dems who controlled Congress ignored him.

    Oops!

The Bush tax rate cuts were passed in 2001 with a 6 year slow phase in period, they were hardly in effect at all before Congress, realizing it was a mistake to have phased them in rather than just put them into effect, passed an acceleration of them in August of 2003 putting them fully into effect.

    2003 -4%
    2004 5%
    2005 15%
    2006 12%
    2007 7%

The Democrats drove the deficits into record numbers after being handed a paltry $161B one by the Republicans.

Notice 2015 2016 and 2017 were nearly flat. Then in 2018 after tax cuts they took a noticeable jump.
