so what is the fundamental difference between this act and Trumps “Hamberders and pizza” banquet for the football team? https://www.news.com.au/finance/wor...n/news-story/d6a7d3af28d662211457df5eb1cf2cd9 Answer One is a generous gesture given by someone who is genuinely concerned about the plight of others and the other is a self serving photo opportunity organised by a terminal narcissist
I think George’s biggest problem is that he was easily led by the most toxic and self serving VP ever to hold office and it says something that the GOP followed that mix with {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{shudder}}}}}}}}}}} Trump.
Yep, he knew he was no Einstein but had clever advisors- whom he didn't dismiss if they disagreed with him.
Interesting use of the "curly braces" had always thought of these height adjustable braces as associating a series of listed items with something on the other side of the brace, the way you use associates their curly character! Shouldn't the number of curly braces be the same on either side or is some significance attributed to more on either side?
I have never seen Bush as a bad person in himself - certainly less so than Trump, Clinton or Nixon, for instance. His little known but extraordinarily successful AIDS programs in Africa testify to that. However, his lack of understanding of the complexity of war and nation building and his reliance on the advice of some bad and foolish men led him to make some of the worst decisions any US President has ever made.
Sadly most people don't. With all the other stuff going on it didn't get much publicity, and saving Africans doesn't get you may votes in the heartland. The people who would normally be heralding the millions of lives it has saved think he is satan & only want to hear that. They also tend to have a visceral hatred of the US, so they only want to push negative narratives about the US in relation to AIDS (of which there are some). You would be amazed how angry people get when I tell them and how desperate they are to 'disprove' that the money was spent & the lives saved. The people who would normally defend him either couldn't care less if a billion Africans died tomorrow, think people who have AIDS deserve it, or both. Either way, no one who is going to get listened to has ever had much reason to tell the story.
For those who are interested this is the Wiki version. Some of the info is out of date, but it gives the gist. There are some legitimate criticisms to be made of the program (abstinence only & possibly involvement of US drug companies), but the fact is that if the US hadn't done this no one else was going to step in. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/President's_Emergency_Plan_for_AIDS_Relief#Criticism
The fundamental difference between Bush and Trump regarding the photo ops is that Trump is working to secure the safety and security of the American people and delivering on his campaign promises. GWB is retired. Simple as that. I like GWB even though I think he was so out of touch with the American people when it came to border security. Didn't agree with everything he did but he had a genuine love for his country....like Trump. Its funny to hear all you liberals say such complementary things about GWB. Liberals treated GWB every bit as bad then as they are treating Trump now.
One is a mass-murdering sociopath who should be executed for crimes against humanity. The other's a *****-grabbing pig. The fact that ANYONE would value a monster like Bush II over a simple pig like Trump tells me that their values are upside down.
Actually, that is classic G.W. politics aside. It wasn't done for a photo op. Most folks, especially party loyalist base their likes and dislikes on the letter next to a presidents or other office holder name. G.W. always was warm towards others, regardless of party and always showed respect to others. Not like the obnoxious, egotistical, "Your Fired," you know who.
W. has done all kinds of things like this for Americans. He just wasn’t allowed to get credit for it. Someday when Ben Shapiro is president, Donald Trump will do something benevolent and the media and leftists will love him for it. Nothing new under the sun...
If he was working for the American people he would sign the ****ing funding bill while continuing negotiations
The something new under the sun will be when Trump does something like this We are talking about a man who has lost the right to run a charity because he was found to be dipping his sticky little fingers into the funds
And neither Trump or Bush provided any beer to wash down those burgers or pizzas. I understand Nancy Pelosi's Air Force Party Plane is full of booze to wash down her caviar.
All Pelosi has to do is agree to the wall...something that the American people clearly want. And all this would be over. But she doesnt care about Americans apparently....whether they be federal workers or not.
