This is one of the major differences between the left and the right. Unlike the right, all I've seen from the moment the news on this broke is those on the left and democrats calling for and demanding his resignation. And if you watched Meet the Press today you saw it. No excuses and spins to defend him like the right consistently does when one of theirs is guilty of similar things. No denials except on the part of Northam. Nobody giving him a pass.

But the right can't relate to this, so they post the sort of things I quoted here, ignoring the facts that don't fit their narrative.

They have no choice they have painted themselves into that corner. There is no redemption there is no forgiveness no matter how long ago the precieved act. Then on top of that his combobulated two statements. And not a single person from the school or on the yearbook editorial board has come out to say it is not as it seems.

That might make an interesting science fiction story but there is no way you can provide any evidence to support what is after all just your opinion.

 

Well, the right IS relating to it - that's why we have what we have atm.

I mean, if you pressed me on whether the guy was racist or not, I'd say no - do I think he should resign for what he did in HS, I'd say no as well. I WOULD say his excuse that those pictures weren't his is so lame - I mean, that's an obvious lie - and I'm surprised Occasional Cortex hasn't called him up on using White Privilege - but eh. He did something stupid decades ago, and that was that. I DO find the irony fascinating and humorous, though, can't deny that.

But the left has been using this very trick for a long time now, calling someone they disagree with racist when they really weren't, playing the race card over and over again long past the expiration date. Trump been called a racist over things where I had to stretch believability to see the racism involved. Heck, Trump could step on a bug on the way out the door and the press would call that racist because it happened to be a black bug at this point, something I'd LIKE to think is a joke but sadly - *sigh* And the right - it learned to play that game. So here we are.

Some leftist nutjob is calling Mary Poppins racist because chimney-sweeps faces were covered in black soot. This is the world we live in because the left decided that anything that even looks like it might offend them MUST be racist. I'm hoping people start realizing their insanity and the pendulum swings back to something approaching normal, but that would mean asking people - especially Millennials - to give up their rage-crying, and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

 

Racism isn't a costume, it's an ideology. And you have yet to provide one shred of evidence that he is an actual racist like Steve King, or Cindy Hyde-Smith, the Republican senators from Iowa and Mississippi, respectively. Until such evidence surfaces that he holds racist views, I shall not pass judgement on his actions one night three decades ago, even while acknowledging that it was in extremely bad taste. Should the allegations prove true he should resign or be removed from office. The facts are that he is a military veteran and a licensed physician. As such he possesses knowledge of both military and medical matters on a national level, and I would rather not just toss him to the wolves without proof that he holds racist views.

 

Northam was apparently a very open racist Democrat for decades. Why did the press cover this up?
