Pelosi calls on Northam to resign

I also call on Northam to resign as Governor of Virginia. The left set the bar very high for themselves with Trump and Kavanagh. Now they have talked the talk, time to walk the walk. If Northam won't resign, then he should be forced out by the party. Since there are sexual harassment allegations against the Lt. Governor, they should resign as a team. If he doesn't the #metoo movement should get on him till he does. The Democrats set this bar for everyone, they need to follow their own rules.

 

This is so true and now we will see how they handle this. If Northam stays or he resigns and Fairfax (Lt Gov) stays, they have a huge problem on their hands. They have talked the talk thus far on Northam, but we will see how far they are willing to go on this matter. If both don't resign, the Dems will own this problem through the 2020 elections and also will not be able to say another bad thing about Trump while the stench of their party is only 110 miles due south of the White House and Capital of the United States.

 

It's easy for the race-obsessed Democratic party to turn against Governor Coonman but the accusations of sexual assault against Justin Fairfax, a black man, is an entirely different matter, especially coming on the heels of the Festival of Feces they threw during the Kavanaugh hearings when they told us that we have to believe all women and men aren't entitled to the presumption of innocence.

So, which part of their base are Dims going to pander to - blacks or women?

Pelosi is wanting the stage set to impeach Trump or intimidate our whimpy republicans to kick our guys out after similar search and destroy tactics. She knows that if she sets the standard here, then her agenda is better apt to be fulfilled.

I believe him when he says he wasn't in the picture and had never seen it before last week.

If that's the case, why should he resign?? This stuff is what forms real witch hunts.

I agree he screwed up in his original statement (badly), but that's not enough to warrant removal from office.

Hope he stays... not sure he will....

Black face, in my mind, is not racist. It was acceptable at the time, and just like the left calling the American flag a piece of cloth, what's on his face is just make up. What about those women who cake mud on their face, is that racist? What about Ted Dansen being in black face while he's standing next to a laughing Whoopi Goldberg?

I disagree with Northam's politics, but you don't turn your life upside down over something that happened 35 years ago which wasn't wrong at the time. Where's that tolerance and forgiveness the left constantly talks about? If I'm allowed to quote the left, lynching a guy for something he did 35 years ago is not who we are. Remove this guy from office based on his policy positions and not what he did as a kid.

Well, at first he was accused of being in the picture, as one of the 2 people. Now, he seems to have self outed himself with the Michael Jackson deal.

My slant if he was in the picture or even KNEW the picture was on his yearbook page all these years without a formal protest, hasta la vista, Ralph.... He says he wasn't (and didn't), so I can certainly forgive his horrible first statement Friday night (although immensely stupid!).

If you were referring to Michael Jackson, I believe I can safely differentiate between costuming (even some black face) for a dance contest back in the day versus full blackface for no apparent purpose.
