    https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-approval-ratings/?ex_cid=rrpromo

Given a margin of error of around 3% or so the 538 average polling for the BLOTUS has remained around 42% before and after the release of the Mueller report.

There was no significant "bump" in the polls as one might have expected given that outcome.

Which raises the important question as to WHY that never happened? Nate Silver has some thoughts on the issue in this article.

    https://fivethirtyeight.com/feature...er-probe-hasnt-been-a-game-changer-for-trump/

My own thinking tells me that the electorate have had enough time to figure out that the BLOTUS is a scumbag and his own actions and that of his cabinet reinforce that he is a scumbag.

This is not to say that we have never had scumbags occupying the Oval office in the past but they did not FLATLINE in the polls in the same consistent manner and none of them were ever as consistently as LOW as the BLOTUS has been.

Only Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter come close to having a similarly consistent low approval rating.

So unless the BLOTUS approval rating does move above where it is seems to be stuck at he might end losing in 2020 just like Ford and Carter did.

    Your thoughts?

You mean the people who still watch CNN and MSNBC still don't like Trump? That's inconceivable.

I prefer to use RCP as an aggregate, which has him at 43.9%, but I will of course concede your figure.

On November 8, 2016 RCP had him at 37.5%, some 5% below his current approval. As I have said consistently, 2020 has little to nothing to do with Trump and everything to do with who the Democrats nominate. Their nominee will have to be approx 5% more popular than Clinton was to be on the same footing. To be fair, this isn't difficult, as Clinton was a snake and everyone knew it, even nominal Clinton supporters.

Part of the reason he has been between 40% and 45% approval for the past 18 months is that legit every person on the face of the Earth has made up their mind on him already.

Trump-Russia was an attempt to hang **** on him from people who dislike him for separate reasons. So if Trump-Russia disappears, very few of these people will go "oh well I suppose he's not so bad", they'll just concede that particular angle of attack and persist with others.

There are no undecideds on Trump.

You'd think that they'd at least be angry at their MSM wonks for having conned them into distrusting or hating Trump for three years once they discovered that Mueller decided that not only was Trump innocent of all accusations of conspiring with the Russians but already KNEW that Trump was innocent from day one of the investigation. But then again it appears that huge groups of people to the Left of Center adore being lied to and cynically manipulated by their DNC leadership and the leftist politically allied MSM. That and wearing p***y hats seem to . . . thrill . . . them.

    Good point!

With no "undecideds" out there as far as the BLOTUS goes that leaves zero room for improvement in the polls.

OTOH you are correct that all the Dems need is to nominate anyone who is not as toxic as Hillary had become to the electorate.

Right now I am not aware of anyone in that category within the ranks of the Dem hopefuls. Do you have anyone in mind who would be more disliked by the electorate than the BLOTUS?

I disagree with aggregate polling because the majority of polling companies are pretty much openly working with the DNC by always heavy-weighting Dem Party participants in their surveys. I used to always open up the polling headers to see how they were weighting their surveys and then finally had enough. The aggregate numbers are low-balling Trump . . . on . . . purpose FOR cynical political reasons.

So a white nationalist candidate uses the gerrymandered EC to end up in the Oval office where he proceeds to hire the most corrupt and venal cabinet of all time. His gross incompetence results in the ABDUCTION of small children from their parents under his direct orders and shutting down of the entire government for the longest period in the entire history of the nation.

What is cynical about We the People justifiably disapproving of the most corrupt and unlikable incumbent to ever infest the Oval office?

Oh the horrors of a caucasian who loves his country, and ALL the people who LEGALLY reside in it. :roflol: The dirty slavers who instituted the EC are to blame for America's misery. You're really going to come unglued when the US census includes the dreaded "citizenship question". Tell me more about how much you hate gerrymandering.

You're illustrating why the segment of "we the people" you are referring to have become so toxic to the majority of everyday Americans.

I see little upside for Trump but plenty of downside with all the investigations around him. Most of the public isn't as aware of everything going on politically like us here. It's starting to come to light. If you think he hit the bottom, just look down.

What's hit rock bottom is the clown car contestants on the Democrat side of the equation. Just when you think another clown couldn't possibly show up, another says, "Here, hold my beer. Watch this". :roflol:

The OP poll isn't one source's number, but multiple sources (including Rasmussen) that are averaged out.

That is NOT how polling works.

The AGGREGATE of ALL polls is the most accurate reflection of We the People.

That We the People are rejecting white nationalism and moving to the left is not the fault of the pollsters.

Assuming the poll was ALL republicans. 53% is really a impressive number. Even those on the alt-left would have to agree with that, correct?

Not really because it would mean that your beloved BLOTUS barely has a majority of his own party approving of his incompetence.

    Like your originality.

Truth is, the only poll that really matters is the one asking his voters if they still support Trump. (We know you dont, so why bother asking?)
