Why do you think there are Black and White churches? Look at the history of the Black experience with church. Were Black people invited to America to come work and get a long as equals with White people? No! Black people were taken to America as slaves, forced to work for free, beaten, raped, murdered if they rebelled, humiliated, forced to learn English, forced to practice the Christianity taught by White people (which included teaching that slaves obeying their master was Biblical) right a long with worshiping a blonde haired, blue eyed, White Jesus.

Blacks weren't treated as equals and they worshiped among themselves. After slavery they formed their own communities. We're talking about decades of segregation here. THAT is why there are Black churches and why many Blacks prefer to socialize among other Blacks because of RACISM! You are ignoring history and misunderstanding the nature of race-relations with your comments.

Are there different personalities. I have seen the full spectrum of variation in intelligence and personality among Whites and Blacks. The differences in culture are environmentally determined. Your perception of differences is based a lot on prejudice. To say that there are differences in personality between races for biological reasons is to promote pseudoscience whether you're claiming it is based on scientific theory or your own observation.

    Educate yourself.....

As for your picture encouraging people to embrace racism is obviously racist but I would argue that racism isn't all about racial supremacy. There is another definition of racism which says it is hatred or intolerance based on race.

    Racism

    noun
    1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human racial groups determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others.
    2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
    3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

    Consider this statement for example......

"I don't believe that one race is superior to another. I don't believe that there are mental differences between races. But you know, I really wouldn't feel comfortable with my daughter dating someone of another race. I don't approve of interracial dating. I don't hate people of other races but I just don't like that."

That statement is RACIST going by the 3rd definition because it is intolerant of other races. Of course most racists oppose interracial relationships because they do believe in racial differences but even if you didn't and you felt that way that is still a racist attitude. Your picture implies that only belief in superiority is racist. There are racial stereotypes and there are racist stereotypes. Black men having big penises or Native Americans being in tune with nature are racial stereotypes. Racist stereotypes actually denigrate a group of people with their generalizations. Saying someone is stupid or violent because of their race is racist.

I'd guess our main differences are how we acquire our beliefs. I live mine while yours comes from 'studies.'
Let's compare zipcode demographics. (Simply Google 'demographics for your zipcode')

    Here's mine.

    Wanna share yours?

How do you figure that your beliefs are based on life experiences and mine are based on studies? You don't know my life experiences. I've done solid research on the topic but my position is not solely academic. I am fully capable of observing the world around me. The scientific research just gives me more insight in to this topic than you.

    OK I'll bite.....

Here are the demographics by race in areas where I have lived.

    Alabama

    Maryland

    Virginia

    New York

    Indiana

Now what do you feel you can glean from this knowledge as it pertains to my understanding of racial differences in intelligence and personality? I haven't lived in an area with as large a Hispanic population as you have however I met plenty of Hispanics in Maryland. I've lived around majority Blacks and Whites. As I said, I have witnessed the full spectrum of variation in intelligence and personality between Blacks and Whites and of course I've met several Asians. I've shopped in their stores. Made friends with them. Dated one Asian girl. I know people and cultures well enough to know that I am right.

Thanks for sharing. Obviously you have your experiences and I have mine. Since I've never lived in a predominantly white community, I'm sure you know more about that than I do. In my world, people of all races are equal, but live separate lives by choice. It's only in theory all races are the same. We are not the same.

Thank you for this very illuminating post.

The invasions of other Asian countries, the revelations made by writers such as Clavell, the mistrust that exists between certain racial/ethnic groupings both at home and abroad, all take place for a reason. They do not exist in a vacuum.

In a related matter, as we all know, this forum is filled with Islamophobes. They have created one hate thread after another in which they spew their hatred for Muslims. But they have conveniently overlooked Hindu intolerance for Christians, Muslims, and their female genocide which has been documented on this forum numerous times:

    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/belief/2009/may/28/hinduism-tolerance-india

There are others who feel "superior" such as in this example:

    https://nypost.com/2014/01/04/tiger-mom-some-groups-are-just-better-than-others/

That depends on what you mean by the same. Are we fundamentally different and if we are in what ways? One of the claims I encountered while arguing with racists on the internet is that I as a Black man do not know what it is like to have a private conversation among White people. One of them said that White people say things to other White people that they would not say to a Black person or member of another race. He's right. I can't know what that is like as it is literally impossible for me to have a conversation as a White person (without being in disguise with makeup and of course this can at least be done on the internet).

But that doesn't mean that White people have a conversation with me about race. Some of my friends in high school for example (in New York) told me racist things that other White people said. One of them told me his Dad was racist (parents divorced and his step-dad was a nice guy). Another told me his Grandmother, who lived with him was racist. White Egalitarians have to live in a world where even if they are not racist they have racist family members. Being Black in America is a unique experience that neither you or any White person will ever experience. I lived in majority White communities for most of my life but many Black people living in urban communities have never experienced that. They live around other Blacks and doing so gives them a different outlook on race-relations.

Most people socialize among their own racial group but that is to be expected because most people live among people of the same race as them. In Maryland I encountered White people who live in a majority Black area. That is a very different experience for them than Whites who live around mostly Whites (most White people in America). You could probably talk to White people about your life experiences that would be very different considering the area you live in.

In my opinion we are not different in ways that are socially important. We all have a life. We all care about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We all want to live the American Dream. If you live in another country obviously you want to be successful and live in a safe area. The different life experiences we have are due to the choices we make and the areas we live in. The cultural differences between our communities are due to differences in environment and history. The only real major differences biologically are what we see in the mirror. As a Black man my hair is different than yours or a White man. My experience at the barbershop is going to be different. I don't go to White barbershops both because of the familiarity with Black barbers and some White barbers don't know how to cut my hair (tried it once at Walmart....never again). I can go to the beach and not get a sunburn. Some White people burn very easily and none can tolerate the sun like I can (still not a good idea to get too much sun regardless of that fact).

Otherwise there's no major difference only differences in culture. We don't all live separate lives either. Many people have friends of other races and some people have romantic interracial relationships including marriage. Most importantly is how we treat one another. Treating people with dignity and respect is the best policy.

My bold. I'm not comfortable with this comment:
You're prejudging the conclusion by branding anyone who disagrees with you as racist.
Because people like you are branding scientists as racist when their research doesn't agree with your preferred opinion, you're stifling other opinions.
Many scientists will not publish alternative views for fear of being branded racist, and maybe losing their jobs and/or their grants.
This is the censorship of science.

The Japanese since at least 1900 has always believed they were the super race. They believed the Germans were #2.

Even in America the Americans of Japanese descent seem to keep their blood lines pure. How often to you see an American Japanese girl with a white boy ? Not often.

Believe me, I grew up in Manhattan Beach and Gardena was just to the east and if I remember correctly since most California's beaches are very territorial the Asian Japanese kids from Gardena high school beach was around 20th Street in Hermosa Beach.

I dated a Japanese American girl during the 1970's and their parents weren't happy campers about it.

One person on this forum once pointed out, ever watched Japanese porn ? You rarely see white or even black porn stars in the Jap pornos.

Ever been to Japan ? More than a few bars or night clubs that westerns are not allowed to go into.

    1. Americans and Western countries in general have had a culture of White Supremacy for centuries. Most people don't think of all or more White people as racist.

    2. I don't look for them and I don't know if there are statistics on Japanese-American women dating interracially specifically but Asian-American women are much more likely to date interracially than Asian-American men. The opposite is true for Black men vs. Black women.

    3. I don't watch a lot of Japanese porn but from what I have seen Japanese people film themselves having sex with other Japanese people and that is because most people in Japan are ethnically Japanese. So you have to consider demographics. I am sure you can find some Japanese pornstars who have sex with Black and White men.

    4. I haven't had the pleasure of going to Japan yet but if I do I will tell you my experience. From what I've read some Japanese bars do not allow foreigners because of a culture and language barrier.

    https://www.quora.com/Is-there-a-wa...ly-restaurants-areas-in-Japan-for-a-foreigner

I would hope the reasoning is not racist and I can certainly understand the perception that this is a racist policy. I am also aware of racist attitudes in Asia especially historically but I do not believe that most Asians are racist or concerned with race and despite their imperial exploits during World War II I get the impression that Japanese people love American culture and while the have an insular culture they are not all or mostly racist. The Japanese people I have met were nice.

Until just recently, before Europe had cultural-marxism forced upon them, Europe was all white. It's all Europe knew.

America is a little different, America is just a tribe like the Comanches who will allow non Comanches to become a full member of the tribe.

Look at the white Americans being the full blooded Comanche.

    Quanah Parker
Quanah Parker was the only Comanche ever recognized by the U.S. Government with the title, "Chief of the Comanche Indians." He was a major figure both in Comanche resistance to white invasion and in the tribe's adjustment to reservation life. Chief Parker was a half breed. Parker's mother was a white captive who became a full member of the Comanche tribe.

Other tribes in America like the Mescalero and the Chiricahua Apaches kept their blood lines pure while others like the Comanches did not.
There are more than a few black Cherokee Indians still around today.

Probably you missed the 1980s when Japanese girls in New York were often mocked as yellow cabs, suggesting that they are sexually available to foreign men. Nowadays, Japanese Americans, who have lived in the United States for several generations, have the highest rate of interethnic marriage (Qian et al. 2001).

The claim of racial differences in IQ having a genetic component has been rejected as pseudoscience by modern scientists. They recognize that proponents of this view have a racist ideological agenda. If scholars who advocate this discredited theory lose their jobs or grants that is a risk they chose to take.

    https://www.quora.com/Is-there-a-white-black-IQ-gap/answer/Jason-Williams-651

There are consequences to promoting bad scholarship. If you are a scholar and you promote Scientific Racism your colleagues are well within their right to denounce your views as racist which is what happened to James Watson. I don't believe in censoring such views but rather subjecting them to rigorous critique. Also such research insults the intelligence of people being labeled as mentally inferior. This theory is unquestionably racist.

That's like asking what if White people are inherently evil or what if unicorns are real. If the claim has been discredited by modern science then there is no need to dwell on it and ask hypothetical questions. It's not true.

I have always heard that the origins of intelligence have not be entirely been explained. From what I red until recently, both people which claim that there is racial differences in intelligence and those who claim there isn't are wrong, as it's something on we're ignorant.

In the end, it doesn't matter, it's maybe be better to believe there is no racial difference in intelligence. It doesn't change that multiethnic nations are all complete failure. The human brain is way too much tribal to be able to coexist with different races, or even approach politics in another way than a tribal way.

That's nonsense. People don't need to have a tribal mentality. If you value equality (treating people fairly e.g. Egalitarianism) then you can construct a society where everyone gets along. Also I think it is an insult to the people of different countries to call them failures. We call them developing nations today. There is no reason to believe that we can't make progress on race-relations. We have made considerable progress already in the past few decades. Consider how many centuries in America for example society was racist and how much less racist it is today. There is still racism but it has been eradicated from the law books and significantly diminished as an attitude among individuals. This trend can continue.

As for intelligence we don't have all of the answers but enough good research has been done to debunk Scientific Racism. Look at all of the research provided in the Quora link.

I never claimed that scientific racism was valid, however, it remain there is no identified "intelligence" gene.

I'm not speaking of developping nations, I'm speaking of multiethnic nations. A lot of developping nations are monoethnic, most of them even, and there is a lot of developped nations.

I don't say there is a need of being tribal, I just say that it's the basic human nature. Human are herd animal, we're barely more developped than sheep. The nature of human being is mimetic, that's the root of learning abilities.
Why there is barely reasonning on large scale for politics ? Simply because our basic herd instinct over-ride our reason. Politics is first a herd fighting, between two flocks, the left flocks and the right flocks.

Everywhere people of different color try to coexist, it fail. Brazil ? Failure. Cuba ? Failure. USA ? Failure. UK ? Failure. France ? Failure.

I never saw any place in the world were people of different colour were doing something else than coexisting. Black people staying with black people, white people staying with white people, asian people staying with asian people. Different tribes regarding each other with hatred and contempt. So yes, there is exceptions, sometimes white and black people sympathize. It's very important on the individual scale, and it's great. Unfortunately, the individual scale is relevant. Why do you think that white people prefer to stay with white people, hispanic with hispanic people, black with black people. Simply because we're herd animals.

And we're not only herd-minded, we're also essentialist. That's necessary to learn. "Snake is dangerous", "Chair is to sit". It's great to learn, less great when we start to think "white people don't like black people", "black people are criminals and dangerous". That kind of way of thinking is the basis of our learning abilities, and that's the root why most people black or white are racist.

We're not herd animals. We that the ability to reason. The fact that systematic racism has been eradicated from the law books and racist attitudes have been diminished indicates that we can make progress. Racism is ingrained in Western society but that doesn't mean that it is natural. People can decide not to be racist and they can co-exist. Education and personal decisions are the way to eradicate racism.

We're not that reasonnable. There is multiple cognitive bias. Thinking rationnaly require more energy (when someone is actually cogitate, the heart rythm accelerate as the brain pump more glucose in the blood), so we tend to avoid cogitating too much.
Even when we're actively cogitating, we're still submitted to cognitive bias.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cognitive_biases

Human mind is both extremly limited and extremly powerfull. But the limited way is the one that take the less energy, and our body is made to avoid consumming energy.

I believed a long time that we could all live happily together, then I saw the situation where I live getting only worse and worse. Human being have already difficulties to live with people of their own race, religion, I doubt we're able to do with even more difficulties.

Well, they are both reasonable questions. "Are white people evil," however, is not a scientific question as science cannot measure evil and the question "are unicorns real" is answered that unicorns have never been observed in life or in the fossil record.

The question do the races differed in intelligence is a scientific question, as intelligence can be measured and moreover it is long been observed that the races do differ in intelligence.

Most scientists agree that intelligence can not be objectively measured as there are multiple aspects of intelligence. You can be good at some mental abilities and bad at others. IQ tests can't for example measure creativity. You can make an argument that evil can be measured as people are judged morally everyday and then make the case that the race that has committed the most evil acts is inherently evil. There is even a theory called The Iceman Inheritance which postulates that White people (Europeans) are more greedy, ambitious and bloodthirsty because they evolved in cold climates where they needed to compete for food and territory. This is a pseudoscientific belief with no basis in reality as is the idea that some races are mentally inferior and others are mentally superior.

I agree that the existence of unicorns also has no scientific basis and belongs in the realm of cryptozoology because no unicorns have been observed to exist and they do not appear in the fossil record. In that case we have a lack of evidence for a belief. In the case of Scientific Racism we have a falsified belief. Research from the fields of archeology, anthropology, psychology and genetics refute this theory (see Quora link). The existence of extraterrestrials has more credibility than Scientific Racism. We know that the Universe is enormous (around 200 billion galaxies in the observable Universe and possibly 40 billion habitable planets in the Milky Way). We know there is a possibility that life exists on other planets and that life can range from microscopic organisms, to animal life like that on Earth to beings as intelligent or more intelligent than humans. However the vast distances one would have to travel to reach Earth from other planets is astronomical, our satellites can not observe radio signals from any advanced civilizations on other planets and no alien spaceship has ever been recovered (that has been released to the public). So do extraterrestrials exist? The UFO phenomenon has gotten attention including from respected people in the military who claim they have seen what could be alien aircraft. There are photos of crash sites and autopsy photos (all of which can be easily faked) which many people believe is evidence of contact with beings from other worlds.

However consider this, what is the average person of reasonable intelligence to make of claims by other people that they were abducted by aliens? Most people would think you were mentally ill or lying if you said this given that they didn't experience it and you don't have evidence (and they NEVER have evidence like objects taken from the ship or medical records showing they were implanted with something or subjected to experiments by these Aliens). By the same token just as the UFO theorists are considered nuts the racial hereditarians are dismissed as quacks and the proponents of Scientific Racism are dismissed as racists because they almost always adhere to a racist ideological agenda whether they admit it or not. The belief in racial hierarchies in intelligence is something proponents want to believe not something based on objective reasoned science.

PSEUDOSCIENCE begins with a hypothesis— usually one which is appealing emotionally, and spectacularly implausible— and then looks only for items which appear to support it. Conflicting evidence is ignored. Notice how often, when you are asked by a friend about what should be a question of fact if the topic were not pseudoscience, the opening phrase is, “Do you believe in ESP?” (or flying saucers, or prophecy, or Bigfoot)... not, is the evidence good, but rather, do you believe, without raising dull questions of evidence. Generally speaking, the aim of pseudoscience is to rationalize strongly held beliefs, rather than to investigate and find out what’s actually going on, or to test various possibilities. Pseudoscience specializes in jumping to “congenial conclusions,” grinding ideological axes, appealing to pre-conceived ideas and to widespread misunderstandings. Not just Creationists, but 20th Century pseudoscientists of all flavors, from J. B. Rhine and Immanuel Velikovsky to Rupert Sheldrake, have underlying their claims and assertions an anachronistic world-view that essentially rejects all or most of the tested, reliable findings of science as “unacceptably materialistic!” The general public tends to view pseudoscientists as “mavericks” who are working slightly beyond the “accepted” boundaries of science. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. Pseudoscientists invariably represent a world-view which is not simply unscientific or pre-scientific, but rather militantly antiscientific. - Rory Coker
