Blue State Blues: The Case for Pardoning Barack Obama

It is possible that Obama's violation of General Flynn's rights was done out of Barack's general incompetence as a president rather than malicious political intent. In any event there now seems to be a path separation between Obama and Comey.

Obama because he was vindictive and incompetent did what he did with perhaps not the most vile of reasons whereas Comey was simply horrified that his last minute reopening of Hillary's case may have been the final reason that Trump was elected as president. Comey -- regardless of technically being a Republican -- had long ago shifted his political loyalties and fiscal future over the the Dem Party's side. He wanted to prove to the DNC that he was NOT Trump's man; and if destroying Flynn for purely political purposes would suffice, then destroy Flynn he would.

The solution? President Trump should issue Barack Obama a blanket pardon for anything illegal that Barack may have done; and then let the resulting chips fall as they will. This would give Barack real immunity and make it very clear to both the Dem Party and historians that Obama really was guilty as hell of routinely conducting illegal stunts with the office of the President of the United States of America.

I see the Republican conspiracy-gate is up and running this morning. And to think that many a conservative is absolutely convinced with all certainty that one has to be brainwashed into being a liberal.

Nothing is ever going to happen to that dick. Powerful people are protected. However, Trump should issue him a pardon anyway, like Nancy boasted that Trump is forever impeached, Trump and Republicans can boast that in an act of charity Trump pardoned Obama of his crimes. He will forever be Pardoned by Trump.

I expect Trump to give Obama a "de facto" pardon, in the same way he gave Clinton one. He won't pursue criminal charges against him. It's still important to expose the corruption within his Admin, and all the members of Obamagate gang.

The President is, and has always been about bringing the country together, not division, prosecuting a former President, as corrupt as he maybe, will bring about more division. It's important to expose the corruption, but then put that long national nightmare behind us.

No pardon needed since no conviction has been granted.

I agree. Prosecuting a president is a very very long row to hoe and fraught with roadblocks, pitfalls, and unforeseen traps. It would be infinitely harder to do than what the clueless Democrats boastfully believe they could get away with -- and they don't even have anything to prosecute for.

My wild idea might have some legs though, and that is take back the House and then impeach Obama; that could be done even if Trump gives him a general pardon. He would be both pardoned and impeached for life!

I think you are looking for the word expungment. He will have a automatic right to one since the charge has been dismissed since the DOJ uncovered the Brady evidence the Mueller team was hiding that exonerated him

 

Flynn won't need or get any pardon. It's a stretch but some FBI agents and federal attorneys might, though. Many likely will at least need another job.

I'm quite certain that Flynn is still guilty and that he wasn't the only one in Trump's orbit who was having inappropriate contacts with Russian operatives and then lying about it. The dropping of the charges against Flynn along with the moronic Obamagate is just more of the cover up. I'm also quite sure that history books of the future will not be kind to Trump and his supporters.
