Again, Flu Deaths are currently counted based on a mathematical modeling. There is no requirement that your death be "caused by" as opposed to a death "with" the virus.

If you chose to only count influenza deaths based a medical examiner determining that the flu was a causal factor in the death, then the single deadliest year of the flu would be around 15,500 Americans. Currently, there are ~120,000 dead Americans from Covid-19 because a medical examiner made the determination that Covid-19 was a causal factor in their death.

 

Flattening the curve is the goal because it saves lives. Why the **** does that need explanation?

1) Yes, thanks to the shutdown working as intended.
2) The only treatment so far proven to reduce deaths is the steroid reported only yesterday and that is only 30-35% effective in saving lives.
3) We are all dying, Covid is killing people earlier than they would otherwise have died.
4) Some people with no pre-existing conditions have also been dying. A 13 month old child died here yesterday and it had no known problems with its immune system or any other condition.

 

Maybe he got it from Trump University.

That was not the mantra of the media. It was originally NEVER about "saving lives". Now, the mantra has been changed to "saving lives". It's all a huge line of BS.

"Flattening the curve" does not "save lives" in any way. If anything, it is COSTING lives (due to skyrocketed unemployment, poverty, crime, etc... due to the economic shutdown and media fear/hate mongering)
