Our withdrawal from the inernational scene is a significant reduction in our influence.

By leading others of like mind, we have been able to have greater influence that we have as one country.

We are a nation of less than 5% of the world population. Today, we have the leading economy, but China is growing FAR faster than we are and their economy ABSOLUTELY will surpass our own.

Today we have an opportunity to firmly establish the shared beliefs and capabilities of the western world.

That is something that will grow increasingly difficult to achieve, and the impact on the USA for no longer having economic and legal leadership will be gigantic.

What the media forgets to reminds is that for every 5 nutjobs or bad people, there are 95 of us obeying the law, saying please and thank you, working together with no issues

I do that anyway because you can burn a few extra calories without much effort and also because when SUV's park on both sides of me when I am in the car, I literally can see nothing when backing out and i live in the land of the SUV's. Not so bad when I drive my truck.

Even farther from the views of the left. Remember, the mockery, insults and attacks on Trump began the day he announced he would run. They didn't wait for him to do anything. The planning to impeach as an insurance began before he was elected. These guys have become masters of incredibly despicable and immoral behavior- such as I've never seen in my life from either party, and I'm old. That's not the democrats of 40 years ago; these people are fundamentally different.

The work being done to disenfranchise minority voters is an assault by our own government and by others on that 95%.

Breonna Taylor was a member of that 95%.

I do believe it is worth some press and some work aimed at respecting what you are suggesting should be respected.

I went this morning and bought dewormer, puppy milk formula, 5 in vaccine, gave him a bath. He's eating wet food but is 6 weeks old so I figure formula cant hurt. I wormed him (he did poop a few, turns out pups can be born with worms, disgusting, looked like small coiled up rubber bands) I will administer the vaccine in the morning, it's injected under the skin of the neck. A vet would charge about 70$ to do the same thing, vaccine for 7$ a dose at the ranch supply store, every 3 weeks for either 4 to 6 months, so that would add up quick.

We aint rich but I will take to the vet for heartworm prevention and rabies shot. Many people do their own vaccines but those require a vet.

Our last dog never saw a vet for ten years and was healthy until that tumor started on the bridge of his nose, it started deep in the sinuses and ate the bone as it emerged. He lived a good life but it was time. I promised myself if I ever owned another dog it will have all it's shots and dewormed and heart worm prevention. Heartworms are easy to prevent but a near certain death sentence in later life and expensive to treat.

The right wing was laughing at him, too.

The destruction of our checks and balances, the search for foreign influence in our elections, the demonstrated criminality within Trump's circle - these are things that can not be tolerated.

And, these would have been opposed in ANY time period in American history.

The difference is that in past times, Republicans agreed. Republcians agreed that Nixon had to go, and for misdeeds that Trump's activities put to shame.

There certainly has been a change. I agree with that.

I love hearing stories like this, it shows there we can still have faith in humanity and while the media and internet make it seem like we all want to kill each other most of us just go about our daily lives and respect each other as people.

I live in a small town that is pretty tight knit. Nearly every single weekend without fail there are kids standing on the corner of intersection near the supermarket just waving to people. Even in the dead of winter when it was below zero and freezing out here I saw kids standing out there bundled up and waving. I thought they were selling cookies or something at first and I remember stopping to just give them a few bucks for being willing to stand out there in the snow like that. Nope, they weren't selling anything, when I asked what was going on their response was "Nothing mister, we are just saying good morning to everyone, have a good day!". Thats awesome. I routinely see grown folks and even kids riding around on their 4 wheelers and picking up trash along the road. It's not a community service thing, they literally just do it because they want to keep the town clean.

Last year while sitting at my local bar that I always goto I met a nice elderly couple and we just chatted for awhile. They said they were both retired and spend their time traveling like they always wanted to. They had their dinner and wine and left and I hung around until the bar closes like I always do. I go to pay to leave and the bartender says that the couple I was speaking to paid my tab already even though I had been sitting there for hours after they left. Apparently they told the bartender to keep their tab open and put my bill on it whenever I was done. I felt pretty bad because I would have certainly not gotten a steak dinner if I would have known someone else was paying for my meal and I sure as hell wouldn't have sat there racking up a huge bar tab on someone elses dime...

I've seen plenty of things like that around here and mostly in my local bar as it's the main little gathering of our area. I watched a guy who just moved into town offer up his truck to help a random guy move his apartment on the spot. The guy needing help didn't even ask, he was just casually talking about how he has to wake up early and move by himself and the new guy just offers to lend a hand.

The point is, I don't know the political affiliation of the parents of the kids who wave good morning to the town every weekend in the snow. It doesn't matter, they are nice folks, that's awesome.
I don't know the political affiliation of the couple who met me and decided to foot the bill for my bar tab, they didn't know my political affiliation either, it wasn't discussed. I liked them as people and they liked me as a person and decided to do something nice.
The guy who offered to help one of our locals move his apartment didn't know him or any of us, he just saw that someone needed assistance and decided to lend a hand.

It's always amazing to me when I see stuff like that, it makes me feel like we aren't as doomed as I think we are. I'm so tired of the pure hatred and venom I see from respective camps to where we've tossed common human decency out of the window based on who someone votes for. I spend a lot of time online and the amount of rhetoric I see stating stuff like "If you are a ********** supporter don't even bother talking to me!". There was even a thread on here a few months ago with the question asking if you can still talk to members of your own family if they are of a different ideology than you. Seriously? And some of the responses were horrifying. There are seriously folks out here who would flat out refuse to attend their annual family Thanksgiving Dinner because their mother or brother or somebody isn't voting for the same person they are. There is something very wrong with that...

This "give no quarter" mentality that we have garnered as a society is the single biggest threat to the future of this country. We need way more people in society like the guy who offered to lend a helping hand to a stranger in need instead of folks whos first question is what political ideology do you support so I can see whether I want to shake your hand or give you the middle finger.

Surely you know that problems don't go away by ignoring them.

Our federal leadership with the likes of Trump and Miller has the power of the US executive branch working to worsen the problems of racism and division in the USA.

And, the Senate is ignoring that - if not working to make matters worse.

Biden isn't going to solve it, either. It's a bigger, harder, longer lasting problem than that..

What we CAN work for is forward motion.

I like the "All you can eat for a $1.99" buffet, but $1 worth was all that I could stand.

~ There is the real possibility the corrupt CCP will collapse. China is now on stilts - regardless of the "official" Chinese government propaganda . The Wuhan virus made many nations take a second look at doing business with communist China.
India and Vietnam will likely be the ones to take up the low cost labor and growth from China.
But you can always hope for China's success and America's demise if you like. It will have no reflection on Donald Trump.

Our failure to effectively deal with it has crippled our us.

I don't agree with most of your analysis here.

Your COVID comment is absolutely ridiculous. China is safer from this virus than just about any other place with substantial population. The USA is the WORST. We may not like their methods, but they certainly have worked while ours have been an absolute and total failure. If contact with nations having the virus is the issue, then contact with America is what should be avoided. And, while China, has developed solutions, we have not. We still can't even provide our healthcare industry with sufficient masks!! And, we have regions where we've run out of beds in our hospitals.

China's economy has been consistently growing at a rate that is more than twice our own for 20 or 30 years. If you want to try to defend your claim that they will collapse, please do.

Yes, wages in China are increasing. That's exactly what one would expect, isn't it?

Let's recognize that China's economy has long since moved past low wage labor working for state enterprises. Private enterprise is powering China.
