    This would be shocking except Trump has essentially been threatening that this would happen for half a year.

    Hopefully the investigations will help assure at least some of the Trump supporters that he has lost legitimately.

    Supreme Court can't stop Congress from challenging the legitimacy of Congress' decertification of certain Electoral College votes.

    that would be a violation of the Seperation of Powers.

    Doesn't the state legislative body choose electors?

    Depends on the state. Some have elections for them.

    Supreme Court cant and wont tell Congress how to certify an election.

    each state has the same number of GOP and Democrat Electors.

    whichever party wins the election, their Electors get Elected and then send their votes to Congress to be certified.

    You hope they do but they only need five votes to side with Trump so even if you get Roberts that's not going to do anything

    Right, but the State Congress approves them, so if Trump loses in SCOTUS, the PA Congress can refuse PA's electors, right?

    Roberts?

    Roberts is a sound Moderate who voted to preserve Obamacare, preserve gun control laws, and to kill several Trump lawsuits.

    he is NOT a Trump fan or supporter.

    Correct and electors are based on your representation in congress. Each side picks their electors which are always party loyalists, this is usually done in some way by the national party committee then the election is held.

    In all but two states whichever party wins the popular vote gets all the electors so the more populated the state the more they get. The number of electors each state gets is based off their population which is why the census is always argued about.

    Sadly (not), it doesn't appear Barr will be around to see the results of this nothingness...

    Hitler ordering Speer to destroy Berlin at the end..... Speer went through enough motions to convince the boss something was happening...

    End Credits

    Trump = Hitler
    Barr = Speer

    Electors in most states have to do what their states tell them to do.

    I think they must be approved by state legislative body, which was my point to show that if the state Republicans disagree with SCOTUS should it rebuke Trump, then the electors may not go for Biden anyway. Although my point is highly unlikely...just something to talk about I guess....

    That is why he would side with the liberals but that only makes it 5-4 so you would need one more justice.Won't get the three Trump picks and you will never get Thomas

    no, they do what the voters tell them to do.

    if Democrats win the state, the Democrat Electors get to vote.

    if Republicans win the state, the Republican Electors vote.

    are you suggesting we abandon democracy and let the legislators tell the Electors how to vote?

    sounds like Fascism.

    That isn't going to happen. The electors are party loyalists, they would not do that without a fight.

    wanting the Legislators to ORDER the Electors to vote against the Will of the People, would be Fascism.

    The Democrat-controlled House, will not allow such a thing to occur

    Of course not but the legislature can remove an elector or the governor not certify the vote. For any of that to happen would be a political impossibility but still fun to talk about.

    Legislature can only remove a FAITHLESS Elector.

    aka an Elector who refuses to abide by the will of the voters
