    Not slick

    stupid

Pence may not have forgiven him by then and I’d likely to say NO!

    That would be delicious!

Except that that pardon will NOT cover the state charges that await

An impeachment cannot be pardoned. It's the only limit.

You are absolutely right! State-level charges are not affected (to the best of my knowledge). But I'm not a lawyer.

I don't think Mike Pence would pardon him if Trump wanted to. By all accounts - Pence is pissed at Trump for throwing him under the bus. So voted no.

I think he and Pence have separated company so why do you say that?

I just watched a video online in which Pelosi and Schumer both said they were put on hold for about 20 minutes waiting for Pence to answer. He never did. Supposedly, Pence and Trump spoke recently and Pence is not considering the 25th.

It's sad really. He has been very loyal and got thrown under a bus for nothing. He's essentially committed political suicide dropping on the sword for someone that couldn't care less about him (or his family).

It tells the future that what he did is at least as serious as lying about blow jobs in The Oval.

Pence will not play along with the 25th Amendment ploy. I think Trump is hoping to "run out the clock" at this point. Seven days to go....

You think Clinton was impeached for merely lying about oral sex in the White House? Really? I think you left out the part about perjury, subornation of perjury, witness tampering and obstruction of justice when he was being sued by a former employee who was seeking, and had the right to seek by a law Clinton signed, evidence that the person she was accusing has a history of trading sex for things he used the power of his office to reward them, classic sexual harassment in the workplace. Which article of impeachment said "for getting a blow job"?

Nor would he go along with a resignation and pardon scheme. Seven days and the Dems should put out that fire in their hair and celebrate the Biden win and inauguration and then get on with the business of the government.

Hmm... don't count out the "resignation and pardon scheme". I remember all the bullshit we went through in summer of 1974 in what finally resulted in the resignation of Richard Nixon. A month later, then-president Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon. And that was the end of that!

Back then, about every ten minutes, we were constantly bombarded with hearing this phrase: "It's for the good of the country!"

Ha! The "country" was in the throes of getting out of the Vietnam War, the economy was turning to sh!t, inflation was really hitting hard, wages were not (NOT) keeping up, nothing was going right. Two years later, the "country" elected Jimmuh Cawduh, and then we really went downhill....

"Good of the country". Yeah... sure. But it may be the best thing overall if we just have ol' Joe come on into the White House in a week and start shoveling out $2,000-a-head in even MORE welfare money. Everybody will like that.... :woot:

If he resigns, so will Pence. I'm willing to bet Pence advised Trump of this, thus depriving him of a pardon.

That is why it won't happen. the reason Pence won't go along with the scheme, because he knows that if Trump does do it, it will be only for the reason of getting a pardon. Everyone will know, and he's got a bad enough 'sycophant' label as it is. Pence is a sycophant, but I don't think he's that stupid, because if he did, become 'president for a day' , he'd be the butt end of late night comedy for years.

Non-sequitur, there was evidence of criminal activity at the highest levels of his administration. Trump has not been charged with a crime and will not be. Pence has cut his ties and is NOT going to enter into such an agreement. But if that is what you think should happen then Biden can pardon like Ford pardoned Nixon.

It was good for the country Ford pardoned Nixon I agree. Biden should put an end to it now and call Pelosi and Schumer and read them the riot act for ruining is transition and inauguration and tying up the Congress his first 100 days by having another bogus Trump impeachment that will go nowhere.

Nixon was not a fiscal conservative and Carter certainly wasn't.

Oh he bought votes with that for sure.

Why on earth would Pence resign. Pence doesn't have to do that to deprive him of a pardon. All he has to do is not issue one Trump can't force him too.

Trump and Pence are going to stay for 8 more days of their term, then turn it back over to DementiaMan, Crazy Nancy, Slimy Schumer and the rest of the corrupt DINO/RINO Establishment.

Pence released a reply to Petty Pelosi today regarding the 25th Amendment.

If you don't want to read the letter, the Reader's Digest Condensed version is:

"FU Hypocrite Nancy. You're destroying the constitution and dividing the country with hate and anger. Ain't nobody got time for that. So help me God."
(Of course, Pence was a bit more diplomatic.)

Good question! I only began to listen to him for about two weeks now and I think he is just getting started at doing commentaries like this.

Only in regards to federal crimes. He'll still be prosecuted by NY and other states for taxt evasion and fraud.

My point, if you had been following the subthread, was conditioned on Trump resigning, first.

I will only disagree with one thing you said, Blues, the House Democrats have now officially charged Trump with "incitement of insurrection". Here's a link: https://www.npr.org/sections/trump-...tes-trumps-incitement-of-capitol-insurrection
