So the guy walking around wearing a sandwich board, talking to himself is right? Reminds me of the religious nuts trying to save people from hell!

Its funny to see people make end of the world claims like theres no tomorrow!

That is correct. The dollar today is worth less than 2 cents of what a dollar was in 1900. Then in 1913, Lord Esau got control of America's money via the Federal Reserve act. On the positive side, basing money on the wealth of this nation, allowed them to finance a lot of things America could not have afforded, such as perpetual war for anti-Christs & other Communist types.
Social Security and Medicare is financed because of the Federal Reserve.
So we should be thankful for that. Too bad, as a nation, we fell in love with our idols and built what Tejas mentioned, our demise
for as long as we hang on to our idols.

You seriously expect money to have the same value it did 121 years ago and think its some kind of tragedy when it doesn't?

Having 800 military bases in 70 countries is what some would call an "empire".

Few people know this but, in this country money had "about" the same value for well over 200 years; depending a lot on war debt. It did fluctuate during times of war but returned to it's original value when the war debt was satisfied. ONLY when the Banksters created the, NON-Federal, Federal Reserve did wild inflation kick in. OUR money is now worth less than 0% of what it was when the "FED" was created in 1913.

Wrong, schoolboy, many people from around the world come here because we have made life a living hell in a lot of places around the world. We have bombed many countries in the Middle East and those people are fleeing to Europe and elsewhere. We support and prop up dictators, kings and oligarchs when they screw their own people. No mystery there. In Central America well just read Professor Walter LaFeber's Inevitable Revolutions: The United States in Central America. But you have been in a coma for the last 40-50 years. Keep watching Fox news, junior, you'll be as wise as an ox.

So you think it's better for them to come to a country that sucks, is racist, oppressive and who caused their problems to being with. Makes sense, not to me, but I'm sure it makes sense to the haters of America.

No one is making claims for the end of the world. That is just your hyperbole. Sweet trolling though ...

    1) We don't have 800 military bases overseas.
    2) Even if we did that isn't what makes a nation an "empire".

The United States cannot be defended within its own borders.

no? how could you say that? the usa has established military, political, and economic control over most of a hemisphere and several sizeable chunks of asia. most of the industrial world and another continent are formally allied.

You're wrong, schoolboy. Our companies want to get rich in other people's countries. We garrison the world with military bases to ensure capitalism in general and our corporations in particular prevail.

    Professor Michael Parenti:

By "imperialism" I mean the process whereby the dominant politico-economic interests of one nation expropriate for their own enrichment the land, labor, raw materials, and markets of another people. The earliest victims of Western European imperialism were other Europeans. Some 800 years ago, Ireland became the first colony of what later became known as the British empire. A part of Ireland still remains under British occupation. Other early Caucasian victims included the Eastern Europeans. The people Charlemagne worked to death in his mines in the early part of the ninth century were Slavs. So frequent and prolonged was the enslavement of Eastern Europeans that "Slav" became synonymous with servitude. Indeed, the word "slave" derives from "Slav." Eastern Europe was an early source of capital accumulation, having become wholly dependent upon Western manufactures by the seventeenth century.

By their own choice. The U.S. has never forced other nations or regions to ally with it.

Why do you call me "schoolboy"? I'm a 54 year old currently disabled (end stage kidney disease) former social studies teacher (and football coach).

if not, what is? the east india company had the same relationship with india as united fruit has with central america. when the peasants become unruly marines arrive.

are you really quibbling about how many hundred bases we have? as many as we want, where we want them,

get back to me when mexican tanks reach san antonio. what you consider a crisis, america's rulers consider a benefit of their status within the empire.

a constitutional republic does exist within those borders, but it exists to provide the military forces used by the elite to compel extraction of resources for maximum profit.

do you really think the cubans consider washington dc, or miami "a shining city on a hill"

You forgot the 9-11 attacks didn't you?

And yes I am quibbling over how many overseas bases the U.S. has.

And how many bases does the U.S. have in foreign nations where the nation in question doesn't want us there? Quantanomo Bay in Cuba is the only one I can think of.
