Trump lost in 2020 but not the GOP who won big in the house. What makes you think that trend is changing?

Also you pick and choose the polls that support your narrative. Some polls has Biden at only 41% aproval.

Self destructing has been the Democrats and left ever since Trump won in 2016.

We won big in the house in 2020. We don't need Biden being a disaster to win the midterms. The Democratic party is very unpopular as the 2020 election showed.

    Typical liberal talking points.

Latinos and suburban voters in recent elections has been voting for Republicans. Even Trump had 29% of the Latino/Hispanic vote.

The only minority the Democrats can rely on is African Americans.

It will be interesting to see what the new law in Texas does for the mid-terms. It is the most extreme anti-abortion law ever passed and let go into effect. It will be the major talking points for both parties next election.

Why would I think other wise? We did big in the house in 2020 and the midterms looks to be great for us to.

Come 2024 the Democrats will be scrambling to find someone to run.

Maybe but it's not as extreme as Roe vs Wade.

Said from a far right perspective. RvW does not offer $10,000 bounties to turn in your neighbor who is no longer pregnant.

I think this law will drive the vote more than you assume

You used one pollster. Here's an aggregate: LINK: RealClearPolitics - President Trump, President Obama Job Approval : As you will see there were times that Trump's approval numbers were higher than Obama's.

Secondary =/= no effect. It will matter.

I agree. Trump does not deserve any credit for the loss of jobs due to a virus. Just as Biden does not get credit when those same jobs come back after the virus recedes. However Trump does deserve credit for any job gains in which his policies promoted, or signage of any bills that is attributable to job gains. Biden does not have that as of yet. He hasn't even been President for a year yet. There is no policy of his which is attributable to the gain, nor has he signed any legislation which is.

This isn't where our views differ.

Except that Dems admitted it. They admitted to changing election rules/laws and the manipulation of information. LINK: The Secret Bipartisan Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election | Time Whether you want to admit that is rigging the election or not is of course up to you. But if the same had been done to Democrats, and admitted to by Republican's we both know how Dems would be hollering.

Only the left says 'we're all gonna die' from the virus except illegals aren't spreaders of it, neither are Pelosi, Newsom, Lightfoot, and many other democrats who throw parties and fund raisers.

Are you sure about Carter not having any? I could have sworn he sent a military plane to try and rescue the hostages but it went down. I thought there were 1 or 2 deaths associated with that.

But I agree, there is too much of a focus on what hasn't worked vs what has.

Sounds more like Dems whistling past the grave yard. Very creative but nonsensical.

I think we misunderstood each other.

I don't want the GOP to become more moderate. I want it to continue to become more radical and I want the Trumpists to be the majority in the party for a long time to come.

When you believe Trump, you stop voting.

The riot had a negative affect but Biden is having a even bigger negative effect.

Dems gained 40 House seats in 2018 due to Trump........well........being the disaster he was/is, Repubs gained 13 in 2020. The important thing to understand about 2020 is why Repubs gained seats not just that they did. For instance, I have read the right wing media lies surrounding the misnamed "defund the police" movement (it was more about reform and a reallocation of funds) played a big role. Then there's the exceptional turnout of Dems in 2018 compared to Repubs, which was matched by Repubs in 2020.
Also, The total vote cast for Republican House candidates in 2020 was 1.4 million less than for President Trump, while the total vote cast for Democratic House candidates fell short of Joe Biden’s total by 3.9 million. This helps explain why Biden’s margin over Trump was 1.5 percentage points larger than House Democrats’ advantage over House Republicans. This down-ballot shortfall made it harder for Democrats to win closely contested contests.
    https://www.brookings.edu/blog/fixg...democrats-underperform-compared-to-joe-biden/

So there's more nuance than you suggest.

2020 showed how much Trump was disliked, especially by independents which being the smaller of the two major parties, the Republican must win or lose the election. Looking at the 2020 vote from independents, 41% voted for Trump, House 48% for Republican congressional candidates, 51% for Republican senate candidates and 52% for Republican governor candidates.

Now Trump did good for a republican among minorities, He received 12% of the black vote, the most since Gerald Ford received 15% back in 1975. Trump received 32% of the Hispanic vote the most any Republican presidential candidate other than G.W. Bush in 2000 and 2004 received since 1984 when Reagan received 37%.Bush received 35 and 44% of the Hispanic vote in 2000 and 2004. So Trump did pretty good considering among minorities.

That was offset big time by the number of independents Trump lost. From a 46-42 advantage over Hillary with 12% voting third party against both major party candidates to 54-41 whipping by Biden. From a plus 4 in 2016 to a minus 13 in 2020. A swing of 17 points against Trump. Yet, independents were voting Republican down ballot. This should have been an eye opener for the GOP, yet they seem Trump fixated. It doesn't take a political rocket scientist or a political strategist to look at those numbers and come to a conclusion that Trump is like an albatross hanging around the GOP necks when it comes to independents.

The good news for the GOP is Trump won't be on the ballot for 2022. This equates to Hillary Clinton not being on the ballot in 2018 when the Democrats picked up 44 house seats. So we shall see.

2018 was the midterms. Do you not know how elections work historically? The midterms have only favoured a president 2 times in recorded history and you honestly think this will be number 3?

2020 was a protest against Trump. For example in 2016 Trump lost CO by over 100,000 votes. In 2020 he lost it by over 400,000 votes. He lost AZ and GA and did worse in most states than he did in 2016.

2020 was a presidential election and the Democrats was expected to make huge gains but that never happened. They had a big loss in the house losing almost every seat that was predicted to switch. Thus the GOP was still popular. It was Trump who was unpopular.

Take Trump out of the picture and you lose the anti Trump vote.

Historically you will lose in the midterms and 2024 is not looking great ether.

Agreed. See my above post. CO was a good example of how much Trump was disliked.

Historically they were already going to lose. I can't see them keeping the house or gaining the Senate.

I agree with that post above. 2022 seems like, early indications that the GOP will regain the House. But not by much. But fail in retaking the senate. Numbers. 20 GOP seats up, 14 democratic. Retirements, Toomey, PA, Burr NC, Portman OH, Blunt MO. to none so far for the democrats. An open seat is much easier to switch. I think OH and MO are fairly safe for the Republicans, but not PA which leans Democratic and NC a pure tossup at this point. WI is also in play, Johnson isn't liked much there. Florida could be. I'd say 1-3 seat Dem pickup today in the senate which could change tomorrow. Nothing concrete.

The House is just a SWAG until redistricting is completed. So my estimate of a 10-15 GOP pickup is a shot in the dark, another SWAG.

It's not voter ID, it's a whole array of measures designed to suppress non-republican voting. Restricting voting hours, stopping drive-thru voting, stopping early voting. The reason they do these things is to make it harder for opponents to vote. Retired, wealthy white people have less trouble voting during business hours on election day than other groups.

Sure, having mostly good ideas solidified in a constitution is a plus. Being against patriotism doesn't mean denying your countries' positive attributes, it means being open to criticizing it, not taking its goodness on faith. The people who wave flags and harp on patriotism are not usually fulfilling the constitution but rather trying to say the country is above question, e.g. vs those against the Vietnam war.

Funny, the patriots at the J6 rally were there criticizing their country. So which is it?
