And I'm not talking about how much Djokovic stands to lose. Him being there benefits the entire sport. But what pisses me off more than anything is that the rules are in place to "protect" Australian health. That is the spirit of the law. If it can be shown that a person is not a threat then they should be able to stay. Seems to me this is more political than anything and the entire tennis community loses.

When I was a kid, there was ONE hockey game on TV per week, on Saturday. On Sunday we had concerts or theatre. Now we have hockey games in the middle of afternoon during the week, twice on Saturday and Sunday, with a pre and post game analysis, as if hockey was that difficult of a subject. Oh, and those sport entitled brats keep asking for tax payers money to build themselves new arenas or other stadiums, while not paying their share of taxes or even living here.

Yep he is. And the rest of the players missed the chance to compete against him. And anyone who stood to make money off promotions, sponsorships / marketing is also losing. Fewer eyeballs on the screen always equates to less $$ errr €. So no, Novak is not the only loser in the equation. It would be one thing if he were a legitimate health risk, but he's not. And everyone knows it! Unfortunately it was more important for the petty idiots in the Aussie government to make a political statement. Utterly inexcusable.

Thoughts? I expect the Aussies don't care much about the Ryder Cup (do you care about the President's Cup?), but it stands to become another interesting sports story.

What would suck (from his standpoint) is that he bails on the Saudi blood money and he still doesn't become captain....

 

He must not wantto play tennis all that bad. If his stance on beng unvaccianted ismoreimportant than his tennis game and reputation........... so be it.
