Well, in case you haven't heard, the man running against Governor Death is a former governor and former Republican, so what you suggest is perfectly possible...

I would put money on these county clerks who approved these, knew they weren’t allowed to vote, yet they knowingly sent them the approvals just to make this a national story to use for political purposes.

There is literally nothing I would put past Ron Desantis as he is probably the most self aggrandizing politician (and thats saying something) in my lifetime. I would bet good money that he has a part in this. He is doing everything in his power to get on the 6 o’clock national news to promote himself and his 2024 presidential run. This guy is one of the most shameless politicians in american history

The press was there for some of the arrests, makes you wonder if they were notified and tagged along which is likely. Political theater.

I saw some of them. And in everyone of them they said they were “told I could vote” and one of them even said they sent him his voter ID Card.

Something smells fishery here. Its not just a little bit odd that the 6’ o’clock news would be at the arrest of someone for voteing, but to be at multiple ones, and hearing most of them say they “were told they were allowed to vote”, and in DeSantis state….yeah, Stevie Wonder can see this one….

Trump (and I) also have a real problem with election officials.

    My reasoning for this:
    (1) Because of pandemic rules, no election official was allowed to verify a vote before it was cast so there's no way any election official could verify the vote tally of the 2020 pandemic rules election.
    (2) Election officials are voted in office and any election official knows that if they declare their elections aren't free and fair, said election official won't be elected come next election so there's this incentive for election officials to always say their elections are free and fair.

It's possible... I think it's more possible that the Florida system is just too ****ed up due to general bureaucracy to know who is allowed to vote... I read that somewhere when this law was passed and felons had to repay their "fines" to regain their vote, and the state said it was on the individual felon to keep track of what they owe...

    Too funny.

But I certainly don't disagree in general on DeSatan...

    (1) is just nonsense + :hiding:

T**** has a problem with anybody who confirmed his big 2020 loss.... he always will, but most of us have moved on from his lies...

Apparently, I care about democracy and you don't.

You realize the only democracy we have in federal gov't is in the voting and not the voting for president? If we can't get the vote right, we don't have democracy.

If an arrest is made then it should have been the authority who told them that they could vote.
Look at it this way, you go to the store and check-out. The clerk gives you your change and you leave without counting. The clerk realizes that you were given too much change and the supervisor runs out and has you arrested. Yes, you took too much change but you trusted the clerk to give you the correct amount. Should you be arrested?

There's no indication we got the vote right in 2020 and there's also no indication you want to get the vote right in 2020.

I absolutely want to get the vote correct again in 2022/24/26/28 etc etc.

Step 1 - Oppose all MAGA election deniers on ballots in 2022/24/26/28 etc etc.
Step 2 - Oppose all MAGA on ballots in 2022/24/26/28 etc etc.

That depends on who checked the box “I affirm that yada, yada, I am legally able to vote”.

It seems I've already mentioned this but if election clerks either misinformed or deceived the defendants, that's a defense. If you are going to arrest election clerks, you need to have probable cause that they committed a criminal act. Meanwhile there IS probable cause that the defendants committed a criminal act.

So your position is the waste court time, taxpayers money and people's freedom is OK for a political stunt? Oh well, we are talking the same person who spent $10 million to send 50 Venezuelan immigrants to Martha's Vineyard without notice.

If we could have back all the money Republicans waste the Democrats could balance the budget.

"“Stribling believed that her rights were restored because she completed the voter registration application and received a voter registration card,” read her probable cause affidavit."
Stupidity is no excuse for the law.

"“It is their [government’s] responsibility to make the determination on eligibility to vote and to send you a voter education card,” Meade said. “It is purely natural for a citizen to rely on the government to make those determinations and that they be accurate.”
It is the duty of the citizen to know the law. States don't do criminal background checks on persons registering to vote.

Here is the form to register in Florida. Tell me what it says in the FIRST BOX. And then the first line below that box.

THEY made a mistake. Have they paid all resitutions and fees? Did they comply with the law?

This isn't a political stunt, these are voters who voted illegally. And considering their past criminal history, it's amazing to me that you would simply accept their excuses. As a general rule, when murderers and pedophiles try to plead innocence, I'm a little suspicious. You are not it seems.

Ahhhhhh, this is a reoccurring theme with the left and used for all GOP hopefuls, you really think we don't notice it! We're not DNC, we actually embrace history, current and past events ;)

Again, you're confused about who're the deniers.

Saying something like that makes you look foolish, of course it was.

Why would I think these 20, out of the millions of voters, would knowingly risk 5 years in prison to cast their votes? That is way beyond my imagination. A more reasonable assumption is that they just want to return to society and perform their civic duties as best that they can.

The first case has already been thrown out of court, expect the others to be as well. Millions of tax payers dollars spent on giving the governor/presidential candidate free press. This is the same guy that spent $10 million to relocate 50 undocumented Venezuelans from Texas to an unprepared Martha's Vineyard.

You're seriously asking why murderers and pedophiles would break the law? Yes, why would a criminal break the law? Inconceivable!
